Chapter 920 Training Towards The Peak (Part 2)

"Death, mortal, fragility."

"Death…mortal…fragility…"

"Death…kill! Kill! Die! Die! Die!" Compass Carburettor grunted in pain when he began to shout with a maddened stature, hollering nonstop like an animal that was about to be slaughtered, "Kill! Kill me! I'll kill you!"

All living beings experienced the mortality of their lives, whether they were mortals leading fragile lives or immortals leading supposedly unkillable lives. And when death comes knocking on their door, it's never pretty.

As Compass Carburettor represented that phenomenon, of the moment when the fragility of a living being is expressed, when he synchronised himself over the ten universes, the states of being of those during the moment of their death too was funnelled to him, into his concept.

The result of that?

"Aargh! Noooo!" Followed by a pitiful scream, Compass Carburettor exploded into a sphere of dust, unleashing a torrent of energy powerful enough to destroy the universe.

"Hmm, that went horribly." Compass Carburettor muttered as he observed the state of his self within the Dreamland he had constructed. The moment he noticed something amiss, he instantly transferred the reins to a version of himself created from his dreams.

And upon seeing that version self-destruct so quickly, Compass Carburettor realised that what he tried now wasn't the correct choice. Moreover, he observed that the moment the contents of the concept began to funnel into his being, an instinct of sorts too began to make its way through.

An instinct to kill the unkillable, to observe the killable, and to oversee the perishable.

Just as Truck-Kun wished to transmigrate worthy candidates to other worlds, this was the instinct regarding his concept.

So, if Compass Carburettor were to proceed in this direction, he would change at the fundamental level, 'No, that isn't necessary. It would only make me weak against my enemies.'

He muttered, "Despite all his power, Truck-Kun is still a slave to the instincts of his concept. He's better off than the Genre Representatives, but he's still not fully free."

He stared at his strength, "Yes, I was indeed feeling that something was amiss from the start. I've been glossing over simple aspects of life despite the sheer level of information I possess. The fault didn't stem from me. Or rather,"

He stared around at the streams of energy funnelling into himself, "You guys were the problem."

Compass Carburettor represented the mortality of life. So, his concept existed anywhere life was being snuffed out. This caused a mystical power to funnel into him and strengthen him passively.

But there was a problem here, originating from its source. There were two sources of power funnelling into this concept.

The first was the mortality of all lifeforms in the various universes out there. The second was the mortality of the Secret Society members living in his Dreamland.

In the former case, moments before their death, the lifeforms depicted all manner of mental states, which too were funnelled into him.

But in the latter case, despite the variety of mental states depicted at the moment of death, they were just his mental states brought about by the circumstances.

The strength funnelling into his concept from his Dreamland was wholly attuned to himself. But the strength funnelling into him from outside contained an 'Instinct' that was interfering with his basic functions and thought processes.

That was why he was making so many mistakes by glossing over the simplest of facts.

Originally, Compass Carburettor assumed that was simply because he was in the process of becoming a human and was rediscovering himself. But no, his Dreamland was discovering himself perfectly.

The living beings there were subjected to every single type of experience out there, all versions of himself. So, it was practically as if he, Compass Carburettor, had subjected himself to living out lives in billions of ways. The experience from each was phenomenally important.

But at the same time, the exterior strength—funnelling from people with different mindsets, characters, intelligence, and thought processes—countered them, resulting in a clash within his concept due to which he formed too many mental blind spots. But at least, the power funnelling into his concept from the Dreamland vastly outclassed the external influx, which was why the number of blind spots wasn't too dangerous.

But, once he began to synchronise himself with ten universes at an intrinsic level, the external influx of power to his concept began to increase, eventually causing it to be on par with the strength influx from his Dreamland, which caused him a severe headache.

After all, both sides were destructively clashing with one another, for their nature was different. One side was birthed by an individual while the other was from the masses.

Once Compass Carburettor expanded the synchronisation into the past too, the external strength influx overwhelmed the internal strength influx, resulting in an overload that caused the implosion.

Thankfully, he had shifted that to the Dreamland and avoided a miserable fate.

"Self-sufficiency," Compass Carburettor muttered, "Wasn't that my goal anyway? Even for this concept, I'll only represent myself."

Saying so, Compass Carburettor transformed his body into a cluster of light through which some particles fell off.

Mortality!

In the concept, the strength that originated externally was shed off until eventually, the concept was wholly formed from the mortality of those living in his Dreamland.

As a result, he became severely weak in response to before, but Compass Carburettor wasn't concerned, "Now, I have avoided a fate where my inherent nature would be influenced by external means."

Now, he no longer represented the concept of Mortality regarding any other living beings apart from himself. He had the choice to represent that, if he so wished. He could temporarily do that when the situation deemed fit and then shed off the influence originating from that casually.

With this, he no longer had to worry about anyone infringing on his concept. After all, the Systems were even infringing on Truck-Kun's concept, just that they haven't tasted any success as of yet. And similarly, once they become aware of his concept, who's to say they wouldn't attempt the same on his concept too?

But now, even if they do that, Compass Carburettor wouldn't be concerned. After all, the domain of what he represented was only towards the Mortality of those in his Dreamland, nothing more, nothing less.

That was a perfect representative.
