Chapter 1039 Obtaining World Spirit System

Name:I Hate Systems Author:
While the five Universe Relic Wielders assisted Arak in bringing more worlds under his genre, Slayer vanished from the Fantasy World, only commenting on Anak to continue with what he had been doing until now.

It was slow, but Anak was steadily gaining control over more Cultivation Worlds. They were weak, crippled, and most of their valuable resources were plundered to the limit by the Systems that ganged upon them after Immortal's death.

But despite that, they were still Cultivation Worlds. As long as Anak gained control over them, he could transport deficient resources from one battered world to another and work in healing the damaged laws.

Moreover, he wielded all the Professions of the Fantasy World at the level of a Saint. So, he had plenty of methods available to assist him in the endeavour.

In the meantime, Slayer arrived at the void of a universe and stared at a Grade 3 System encroaching upon the foundation of a world to innately alter its functions. Immediately, a mysterious energy began to form in the world which sparked a series of uncontrollable evolutions.

Grade 3 System—World Spirit (Level 286)!

This was the final part of the puzzle he required to fulfil his plans. Immediately after arriving at the location, Slayer took in a deep breath before he unleashed all his power, erecting a gigantic volume of fate that locked the space and time of this universe.

Moreover, a blanket formed over the Astral Network extending into this universe, veiling it, preventing Systems in the System World from accessing this world.

And similarly, the World Spirit System too was unable to return to the System World through the Astral Network.

"Wha…what the heck?" The World Spirit System screamed in horror as it stared at the figure of Slayer arriving beside it.

Currently, it was in the process of taking over this world and turning it into its Host. This process was unavoidable and even it couldn't halt once it started.

Therefore, until it finished taking over the world, the World Spirit System was helpless. This was the sole weakness that a Grade 3 System possessed. It emerged from the fact that they modified the very foundational laws of the universe, and hence, they were engaged with the laws completely.

If they were to back out haphazardly, the world would steal a part of their body and use it to empower the natives. This would raise the difficulty by many levels if the World Spirit System wished to take over that world in the future.

"W-Wh-Why are you here, Slayer?" The World Spirit System was in a state of fluster, hurriedly intending to contact Zaira, only to despair when the connection to the Astral Network had been cut off.

Usually, when something like this happened before, there was the Tell-Tale System to form countermeasures. But now, in its absence, the Astral Network lost its original flexibility, only existing in the form it had been established at the start by the Tell-Tale System.

"What do you think?" Slayer grinned cunningly, having only appeared once the World Spirit System began to take over the world, "For what reason have I arrived here?"

"C-Can we talk it through later? You see…I'm a bit…busy?" The World Spirit System tried to act cute and appeal to his humanity. Of course, that was a lost cause from the get-go.

It was currently a fish before a wolf that had gone hungry for months and had been malnourished for all its life. Escaping its fate of being devoured by the wolf was an impossibility. And that was the current situation.

"I'll give you two choices, World Spirit." Slayer spoke calmly, "Firstly, you voluntarily pledge your power to me. Do that, and I'll not target the rest of your fragments scattered throughout the multiverse. That way, you'll suffer a crippling blow, but you'll preserve your life. And as long as Zaira wishes to invest in your recovery, you'll be back to business in a few centuries."

"Your second choice is to resist that and be killed by me. I'll devour you anyway, but as it's not enough for my goals, I'll have no other choice but to target the rest of your scattered fragments." Slayer grinned like the Devil, "I've already mapped out the locations of all your fragments. So, before Zaira notices my actions and counters, I would have long since finished eating you up."

"I…need some time to consider," The World Spirit System said, hoping to buy enough time so that Zaira or some other System would notice its connection being cut off from the Astral Network and swoop in to save its skin."

"Sure, take all the time you need. I'll only give you three seconds though. After that, I'll attack you." Slayer grinned, "Also, you can forget receiving any reinforcements. I've triggered Mascot's side, so she's rampaging more than usual. Zaira's attention is currently focused there."

"Three…two…" Slayer began to countdown, watching the World Spirit System despair in response, and soon, it surrendered, "One…"

"I pledge all my power to you, Slayer." The moment the World Spirit System uttered with all its will, it vanished as its entirety flowed into Slayer.

Now, he had attained the power of the Grade 3 System—World Spirit.

"Keuk!" Slayer grunted in pain, feeling a massive burden on the Fantasy World to bear the foundation accumulated by the World Spirit System. If it hadn't been for the creation of the Genre Representatives—Martial and Immortal—under him, the Fantasy World would have imploded under the strain.

Boom!

A crack appeared in the blanket he had erected as immediately, a mysterious figure arrived, revealing an intent to devour everything of value.

Kaboom!

A formless pressure suppressed Slayer's mind, causing him to instinctively feel inferior as he stared at the kid that appeared, one bearing a startling similarity to Arnark.

"That…madman!" Slayer muttered in a fluster and vanished, hurriedly running away from confronting the entity.

Like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, a glance was all he needed to know that facing such an existence at the current point in time would only result in him losing most of what he had worked hard for, even if he would emerge victorious in the end.

"He's quick to run, that Slayer." The Fate System muttered in surprise before vanishing from the universe, "I was a step late in predicting the fate of his actions. As expected, I can't yet govern the fate of individuals vastly exceeding my own."
