The glass curtain wall here is much wider, and there are quite a few visitors!
Upon seeing the wolf approach, they instantly let out a burst of exclamations.
"Look, a wolf!"
"Mama, it's a wolf!"
Across the pond bank were pieces of low, flat stones, about the same height as a wolf.
This wolf had a thicker coat of black fur on its back, and as it stood on a stone gazing around, it seemed young and confident, full of vigor!
Then it jumped onto the grass by the pond!
In the pond, a sparse patch of white reeds swayed in the wind, not obstructing the view of the wolf's silhouette but adding a graceful beauty instead.
Black Back moved behind the reeds, coming to a more prominent corner of the pond's edge, lowered its head, and began to drink.
The reflection of the wolf in the water grew blurry due to the ripples created by drinking.
The visitors discussed with great enthusiasm, "Hey! This wolf's spirit is really different!"
"Yeah, the wolves I've seen before were always in small concrete cages, lying listlessly on the ground, not even responding when called."
"With such a rich environment—forests, stones, and even a small stream—it's like living in the wild. How could its spirit compare with those kept in cages?"
"Honestly, this stream is outrageous. The wolf isn't that rare of an animal. Does it really need such a good environment? I've seen other zoos where even tigers don't get treated like this. Seems like a bit of a waste."
"But it does look really happy, unlike the ones in concrete cages which look no different from dogs."
"Indeed, it doesn't raise any interest at all. I've never really paid attention to wolves in zoos before."
"Before visiting today, if someone told me that the zoo's wolf lived in such an environment, I'd have never imagined it. I'd even have laughed at them for daydreaming."
"Whoa, the wolf ran off!"
There were many naturally shaped fallen logs on the pond's edge, left with branches on them, chaotically resting on the stones by the edge of the pond, some even spanning across the stream like little bridges.
After drinking a few mouthfuls of water and not staying for long, Black Back lifted its head and walked leisurely on the rocks below the pond, stepped onto one of the logs, and quickly vanished into the dense forest behind it, out of sight.
But Black Back had left, and another wolf arrived!
A wolf entered the pond water from upstream, sniffing the logs and stones along the bank as it explored everything around with a thin, dark stripe beneath its eyes, so it might as well be called Yarn Ball.
The water gradually engulfed its paws, then its legs, and Yarn Ball began to paddle its claws, swimming merrily in the water.
There was a picture of a wolf running at full speed!
The entire wolf was airborne, its relentless gaze fixed ahead, with its front and back legs seemingly meeting at a single point, and its tail fluttering like a flag behind it!
It truly conveyed what a streamlined body meant and what speed like the wind was.
Qian Keke asked with some confusion, "Xiaoxin, 72 kilometers per hour, how many meters per second is that?"
Tang Xiaoxin was speechless, "This is simple to calculate... um... 20 meters per second."
After calculating, she was a bit amazed herself: "That's really fast."
Hearing this, Qian Keke opened her mouth in surprise; 20 meters per second was much faster than Usain Bolt.
Continuing forward, they exited the primitive cave.
What came into view was a green forest with trees, the netting hidden behind natural decorations, and the handrails along the path were very primitive, made of rough-hewn logs and stones.
Turning a corner, they arrived at the next observation point!
Here, a glass curtain wall was embedded inside a stone wall, and a thatched shelter made of dead branches and logs provided cover from the sun's glare on the glass and also served as protection from the rain.
Before their eyes, was a winding waterfall!
The waterfall was about ten meters high, resembling a beautiful white ribbon cascading down from the mountaintop, striking the rocks below and splashing water droplets high into the air. The droplets glittered in the sunlight, like shiny and transparent pearls.
The cascading torrent formed a rushing and clear stream, passing under a makeshift log bridge, down the irregular steep stone steps, leaping down layer by layer like steps.
Although the waterfall wasn't very high, it still looked impressive with such landscaping!
The wolf pack, too, became livelier because of the waterfall's rushing waters!
A black big wolf and another gray wolf were playing and chasing each other in front of the waterfall, one behind the other.
The black wolf had a robust and valiant body, while the gray wolf was agile and graceful!
Not only were their movements exceptionally in sync, but the occasional glances they exchanged were also filled with tenderness, clearly showing their deep affection for each other.
It was Charcoal and Mizzle, the couple.
Jumping from the waterfall's first step, following the stream all the way down, continuously causing splashes under their feet.
Reaching the bottom, then running back up the slope alongside to the first step, jumping down again.
Just like kids who never tire of the slide!
