Chapter 62: Fish-like tendencies

Name:I have Nine Lives Author:KaiokenGuy
The fish people had tails and no legs, Felix was actually quite interested in them as his instincts told him that they would taste rather good. It couldn't be helped considering that as a cat he naturally liked fish by quite a bit.

Felix watched as the strongest smelling fish-man came forward, he had an aura no weaker than Siracha's but compared to the elephant shaman's it was quite lacking.

The man looked to be rather arrogant at first glance but the more he glanced at Siracha the more serious he became.

The moment he came near Siracha he took a small bow as he floated in the water and said something in a language that Felix didn't understand.

Even for Siracha all that the man was said was gibberish to his ears... he took a side glance towards the elderly shaman near him and asked:

"Do you understand anything that this man said?"

Mashi pondered for a few seconds before he shook his head and said:

"Nope."

Well, that was useful.

Seeing that he wasn't understood made the Fishman quite awkward as he glanced at those behind him before pushing someone else in front, he was a rather young Fishman with blonde hair and a pink starfish instead of a nose. He wore a loose transparent robe that made his tail and upper body visible quite easily.

The young man coughed before he asked in fluent Tarotian:

"My shaman would like to know who is this person of great standing."

Siracha gave a glance towards the young man and frowned as he felt that he was somewhat similar to Felix and Bizkier. He was a god's chosen as well!

It seemed that this intercontinental battle would be very important if even those under the ocean came to join in the 'fun'. Normally these fish people would be very secluded and would never leave their comfort zone as they were some sage-like entities, just like normal fish they liked to swim in the zones that they knew and rarely ever moved away from them.

"My name is Siracha from the lion tribe of the Tarot continent."

The young blonde Fishman translated to him then after he got the answer from his shaman he went back to Siracha and translated again... this walking back and forth was quite slow and annoying compared to direct communication but since both sides didn't know each other's language they had to use the translator.

It seemed that the fish tribe which was a mix of fishes of different breeds was finally invited to the intercontinental battle for the first time since their existence was found.

Siracha knew that something was smelling fishy in this situation and it wasn't his current neighbors, why would they invite them to the intercontinental battle when the battle itself was a way to gauge the strength of the younger generations of the four continents? Were these old fogies from the other 4 continents ready to invade the ocean?

Did they become that crazy with age?

Siracha shook his head as he chatted a little bit with the shaman of the fishmen through the translator before he decided to take his leave along with his party... Felix just watched the fishmen swimming ahead of them at speeds that made him quite impressed... the fishmen shaman was even faster than Siracha in the water!

Siracha didn't comment as he swam at his own pace not interested by the speed of the other traveling party.

Felix watched on as they left as he licked his lips, he wondered how did these fish people taste?

Since he was better now after the nap Felix could swim by himself and they were almost at the island, after a short while of swimming they finally reached the shore of the island which was golden due to the concentration of golden sand being really pure and high. Golden sand was a type of sand that resembled gold but had no value besides being pretty.

Felix finally could dry himself as the heat returned quickly to his body and he shook his fur like a dog while countless drops of water left it.

He started to clean himself using his tongue and very quickly he became dry and clean again.

Lindo looked on wordlessly while Bizkier looked to be quite disgusted with Felix's habits, after all, they had inherited human habits after a while so they found Felix's tongue cleaning act to be quite well... strange in their eyes. Even normal cat tribesmen wouldn't do this type of cleaning anymore as this tradition was forgotten in time.

The shamans didn't decide to comment as they looked elsewhere waiting for him to finish.

After Felix finished cleaning himself they started to walk on the beach of the island until they reached some woods, the woods were rather dense and you could easily lose yourself in them but Siracha took out a compass from his bag and looked at everyone to make sure they were ready.

Everyone already had got their clothes back on and things weren't really as awkward as the moment they saw Felix cleaning himself while practically being 'naked'.

As they got closer to the entrance of the woods they finally saw a funny image, the fishmen were flopping on the ground as they tried to move using their tails... it was quite a strange image as some of them used their hands to move.

How were these people supposed to fight on land?

The only difference being the young Fishman who translated as he somehow grew legs and replaced his tail with them, however, he still had his gills and fish traits. However, he still seemed to be out of it as his eyes were unfocused and his mouth was gaping, was he running out of air?

Maybe it was strange for someone to suddenly breathe only air when they breathed mostly water 99% of their life.

Siracha shook his head as he saw them then told his party to leave them alone, it wasn't his job to babysit the newbies.

They entered the woods and with the help of the compass that Siracha had they reached the middle of them...

There they found a few people that were waiting already, the infamous 6 armed experts from the spider tribe and the kangaroo tribe could be easily spotted, some people were hidden in the shadows of the trees that Felix couldn't make their silhouettes out, it was mostly as if they didn't exist at all!

But all in all, they weren't the last to arrive as there were still spots around the clearing where they were for more people to appear.

Siracha took a seat on a tree stump on the ground and started to meditate as he closed his eyes, the old elephant shaman did the same without saying a thing, this left Bizkier Lindo and Felix all alone with the other youths as the shamans of their tribes were doing the same thing as Mashi and Siracha.

The youth of the kangaroo tribe came forward as he gave a few glances towards Felix and his party as he said with a deep voice:

"Heya there mates, I hope we will have a great match if we ever fight!" It seemed he was the strongest of the Kangaroos or the one with the most influence as he was the only one that came forward of the 6 Kangaroos that existed on the side of the Balton continents team. Their team consisted of the 6 Kangaroos and one spider teammate.

The ones that were hiding in the dark were situated to the side of the Haron continent... which meant the raven person should be amongst the ones hiding in the shade.

Seeing that he was so friendly made Felix come forward as well as he reciprocated the gesture giving him a paw up and telling him something similar to what he said as a courtesy.

The Kangaroo nodded as he smiled at him but the giant spider teammate just glared at the two of them as he muttered:

"Stupid meat-headed bastards."

Felix ignored his comment that his sharp ears caught but the kangaroo wasn't so forgiving as he suddenly appeared near him and gave him a slap... that made him fall headfirst in the grass below them.

Felix frowned as he looked at the duo... the spider was supposed to be stronger than him and this kangaroo fellow beat him like that? Was the intelligence that Aaltarox gave him wrong?

Suddenly the spider got up from the ground and glared at the Kangaroo as he put his hands towards his waist where 6 swords were sheathed:

"You have a problem with me, you muscle bastard!"

"You are sure noisy for a bug now apologize for your comment!"

"But your actions just showed that my comment is indeed true!"

"It might be true but I don't like hearing it so apologize before I bash your teeth in and make all of your 6 eyes be bigger than they already are!"
