Shima was contemplating Vangar words, could he let Felix go? The cat would surely love the opportunity to blitz out of there and it would be unlikely he would go along with Vangar's plan to get him recruited into the army.
Shima saluted Vangar as he said:
"I'm not sure If I'm the right person to go and tell him that General, he must hate me to the bone after what I have done to him, maybe a fresh face would be better to give him the news? Some of his hatred could be shaved away in that circumstance."
"Well you are the scientist here Shima, I'm just an old bag of bones that's only good at cracking skulls, so should I go myself or do you have someone else in mind?"
"He doesn't know you so you should be the best choice sir, that or the person who helped him to get here, I think his name was Maxwell, the grandson of Marquis Mandrel."
"Hmm, Marquis Mandrel? That old man doesn't like to implicate himself in such matters, it seems he really loves his grandson, actually I'm wondering what kind of connection does this Felix have with Maxwell for him to ask such a heavy favor from his grandfather."
"Well, who knows? He was assigned as Felix's guard so maybe he befriended him then, it seems unlikely at first glance but Maxwell is a rather weak boy so he was bullied at military school and even thrown out if his grandfather wasn't a marquis he might have even been executed. So it's likely that Felix must have made him feel sympathetic to him, thus friendship bloomed between them."
"Spare me the scientific jibber-jabber, Shima I'm going now."
"Of course, Sir you should know where his jail cell is right?"
"I might be old but I'm not senile, we just saw how he was transported down below the arena."
The man disappeared leaving Shima alone to look down at the empty arena.
*****************
Felix was training his intelligence breathing technique, at this point, he reached the 2nd stage and was nearing the 3rd stage, with all of this quiet environment he had, he didn't have anything else to do so his improvement was rather fast.
He suddenly felt a presence appearing in front of his cell as he opened his eyes and looked forward, he saw Vangar who was just looking at him through the bars.
Felix was rather cautious of this new person as he asked:
"Who are you?"
Vangar didn't say anything as he kept his eyes on Felix's body until he felt rather uncomfortable for being stared at with such intensity.
"Oh sorry don't mind me, the name's Vangar I couldn't help but be rather impressed by your fight in the arena and I want to ask you something."
Felix lowered his guard a bit as he asked:
"What is it?"
"Oh it's just a small little question, don't worry."
"What do you think about becoming free?"
Felix's eyes widened, freedom was the thing he wanted the most right now but his guard was up again, he could see the furry belt at the man's waist which indicated he was also one of the humans, this indicated that he didn't come with good intentions.
"Chill little dude, I don't want anything bad to happen to you, you are a rather talented being, to begin with, that fool Shima was blind to do what he had done to you."
Felix looked at the man and his senses told him he was unfathomable, his strength was so high that Siracha would look like an infant in front of him, Shima was only a little bit stronger than Siracha and he had home advantage back then or else he wouldn't have grabbed Felix that easily, Siracha also didn't want to offend the human tribe.
But in this situation he couldn't gauge the strength of the person in front of him, Felix actually felt his fur stand on end as he looked at Vangar.
"Oh boy..."
Vangar didn't know what to say to the scared Felix, he knew the boy was special in body strength but it seemed his soul sensing wasn't bad as well which made Vangar even more interested in him.
Felix took a few steps backward as he felt a strange aura being exhibited by Vangar's body, Vangar immediately became embarrassed as he let out his aura unconsciously after he became too excited from observing Felix and his immense potential.
The human tribe wasn't discriminating when it came to the talented, as long as they were talented and willing to work for them it didn't matter where they were from, their race, gender, or race.
Of course, it was different if the talent was from an enemy race or it was a talent unobtainable to them. Just like all other conquering civilizations, not one of them wanted to have an unknown factor grow up like a tumor, they would rather exterminate it early than letting it become cancer.
Those were the thoughts of the radical army people but Vangar was a little different than them, even though he belonged to the army his stance was a little bit softer as he had been retired for 10 or more years.
"It's ok, I'm really here to help you, Felix, I have seen your files and I think you don't deserve to rot in prison nor fight in the arena for such a long time, you have done everything in self-defense and I think you should be free."
Felix was still feeling a little scared from the small aura outburst that Vangar had but he calmed himself as he decided to think about his words.
"I do want to be free, do I have to do anything for that though?"
"Not really but I do have an opportunity for you, it doesn't matter if you accept it or not, you will still be freed."
"Ok, then I will hear you about this opportunity."
"Haha, very smart of you, listen here."
"Would you like to join the army?"
Felix immediately felt strange as he looked at Vangar eyes shaking his head to make sure if he heard right:
"You want me to join the army of the people that put me in this situation for no reason?"
Vangar laughed awkwardly as he scratched the back of his head and said:
"Well it's a bit of a stretch to ask for that, as I said it's just an opportunity but don't be so quick to decline, I haven't explained things fully yet!"
"Aren't you curious about what's above this planet, what exists beyond your scopes of understanding?"
Felix didn't really think about those things up till now as he shook his head and asked:
"What's there?"
"Well I could tell you from now that if it wasn't for us the planet would have been enslaved by those things beyond the stars, the thing that you just fought in the arena is called a Bangord and it comes from a nearby planet, we have warred with this planet for almost 3 years now and we are still stuck at the beginning phases of the war due to how resistant this race of beings is."
Felix didn't know what to say, it seemed that while the other tribes were fighting amongst themselves the human tribe was fighting for the good of the planet, but that didn't mean his aversion towards them lowered, it was still there, but he was also impressed with their ability to hold off a planet full of beings like that.
"Oh and let me tell you something, the one you defeated is considered to be an infant, an just born walking among their ranks, I saw how you struggled somewhat against it think about 1-2 billion of these things fighting with a strength of about 200x times higher than the one you fought."
Felix couldn't really imagine such a situation, it sounded like hell descending at that point who could fight with those beings?
"I see that you don't really think such a thing could happen but the facts don't lie, you have seen and fought the monster, in the future who knows if we will be able to hold on fighting them without a talented someone to take the lead?"
Felix knew that all of this speech was bullshit, there was no way they would lose with people as strong as Vangar fighting on the battlefront.
Seemingly as if he read his mind Vangar said:
"Well it doesn't seem that I can convince you but you will sooner or later realize that this little planet can't hold you, you will need to go further and at that time you will have to talk with us, and at that time we will be very happy to welcome you."
Vangar ripped the bars that held Felix captive rather easily, they seemed just like pretzels in Vangar's hands as he easily threw them aside and said:
"I will guide you back to the exit, getting to your tribe should be easy afterward."
Felix took two steps out of the cell as he looked at Vangar and memorized his face, he looked to be thinking about Vangar's offer but then he shook his head as he said:
"After you."
Vangar looked to be rather disappointed as he shook his head and started to walk away while making sure that Felix followed him so he wouldn't get lost.
