Chapter 55 - The Old Granny Invited
Tonight, because Shen Mu Sheng was by his side, Qin Ruo Chu slept soundly, and the events that happened during the day did not affect her in any way.
Early morning of the second day, Qin Ruo Chu wasn't sure exactly what time it was either. He only knew that when he was woken up by the knocking on the door, he had a glance outside the window.
Qin Ruo Chu instinctively touched the spot beside him, only then did he realise that Shen Mu Sheng had already woken up. Qin Ruo Chu used his little head that had just woken up to think for a while, and suddenly remembered that Shen Mu Sheng had told him yesterday that they were going to Lin City for a meeting, so he left very early to try to come back earlier.
"Realizing this, Qin Ruo Chu became a little more clear-headed. "Dong Dong …" The knock on the door sounded rude, as if he was not going to stop until he received a reply.
Qin Ruo Chu rubbed his eyes, then quickly got off the bed and put on his shoes. Just as he was about to open the door, he suddenly thought of something, came back from the closet and took a robe, then went to open the door.
After the door opened, there stood an elderly servant, who seemed to already be impatient. Seeing Qin Ruo Chu open the door, the servant lowered his head in greeting to him.
"Miss Qin, the old lady has someone to invite …"
Qin Ruo Chu was startled, he did not think that the Old Lady Shen would call for her alone. He thought about how unhappy he was to see the old lady last night, and added with the fact that Shen Mu Sheng was not by his side today. Unconsciously, Qin Ruo Chu felt a wave of fear, but she knew that she couldn't reject it no matter what.
Furthermore, the old servant outside didn't seem to give Qin Ruo Chu any chance to refuse. After passing down these words, he was about to leave.
The servant of that year heard it as if he hadn't, looked at Qin Ruo Chu then left.
Qin Ruo Chu curled his lips, then closed the door and returned to his room. Although the Old Lady Shen had invited him in a hurry, Qin Ruo Chu did not dare to slight him and quickly went to wash up.
While Qin Ruo Chu was brushing her teeth, her little head was rapidly thinking, what kind of clothes would she wear later? From the looks of it, the Old Lady Shen seemed to like something that was a little ancient. Thinking about that, Qin Ruo Chu slapped his forehead.
"It's over …" "I don't have any ancient clothes at all!"
When he came out of the bathroom again, Qin Ruo Chu had already made up his mind. It would be fine to just wear any one, because Old Lady Shen didn't seem to look at her at all.
Just as Qin Ruo Chu was about to change out of the long dress that he took out from the wardrobe, another knock on the door rang. Qin Ruo Chu felt his scalp tingling, thinking to himself, just a few minutes?
"Please wait a moment, I'm almost done. I'm changing." Qin Ruo Chu quickly replied.
However, someone outside replied, "Miss Qin, the old lady has prepared clothes for you …" Qin Ruo Chu could tell from the voice that the person outside was still the older servant.
Hearing this, Qin Ruo Chu who was in the middle of unbuttoning his robe paused, "That can't be, Grandmother is preparing clothes for me …" Qin Ruo Chu muttered as he walked over and opened the door.
It was indeed the same old servant who had knocked on the door earlier. She was currently holding a wooden tray with a dark green qipao neatly stacked on top of it.
"Miss Qin, this is a set of clothes that the old lady ordered for you according to your size. Please change it as soon as possible and come with me to see the old lady." That person did not show any expression when he said that.
Qin Ruo Chu took the tray, "Alright, I understand. Thank you, please wait a moment." Qin Ruo Chu said politely, but did not get a response. Qin Ruo Chu indifferently curled his lips, probably the person beside Old Lady Shen had learnt from the old lady, who had a very good temper.
Qin Ruo Chu thought that the Old Lady Shen was probably waiting for her to pass, so he quickly changed into her qipao.
After putting on the cheongsam, Qin Ruo Chu looked left and right in front of the mirror to confirm that there were no problems. In the mirror, when Qin Ruo Chu wore the cheongsam that fit her well, she actually gave off a hint of seductive charm, but mostly she gave off a dignified and grandiose feeling.
Qin Ruo Chu was born into a cultured family, and from a young age, she had a gentle temperament. Now, it seems that this gentle temperament was very well matched with a qipao.
He then pushed open the door and came out. The servant of that year was waiting outside, and the moment he saw Qin Ruo Chu, he had a feeling that something was amiss, and he immediately hid it.
Then, he used a formal tone and said, "Miss Qin, please follow me." Without waiting for Qin Ruo Chu to react, he walked out the door.
Qin Ruo Chu kept up as he trotted. Along the way, Qin Ruo Chu would have to jog a few steps from time to time because that servant was simply too fast. It was unknown if he was deliberately making things difficult for Qin Ruo Chu or if he was really in a hurry.
Qin Ruo Chu was very innocent, he did not even think about it, and only wanted to leave quickly, if not, it would be hard to explain to the Old Lady Shen later on.
After a while, Qin Ruo Chu arrived at Old Lady Shen's courtyard once again and walked into the courtyard. However, Qin Ruo Chu was still feeling apprehensive;
Because last time, Shen Mu Sheng was still by her side, but this time, Qin Ruo Chu had to face it alone.
Thinking up to here, Qin Ruo Chu's nervousness calmed down a little. She lowered her head to check her clothes, and then patted her hair before taking a deep breath and stepping into the inner hall.
It was still the same inner hall. Qin Ruo Chu saw the collapsed Old Lady Shen at first glance, and at this moment, the Old Lady Shen was burning incense and resting with her eyes closed. The buddhist beads in her hands rotated from time to time.
On the collapsed tea house's table, Qiao Yi Tong was cleaning up the tea set. It seemed that he was ready to brew the tea.
What Qin Ruo Chu did not expect was that Qiao Yi Tong was also wearing a cheongsam, but compared to the dark green color of Qin Ruo Chu's slightly aged and steady demeanor, Qiao Yi Tong's cheongsam was actually a bewitching bright red.
From this, it could be seen that the Old Lady Shen was a very traditional Chinese woman.
Qiao Yi Tong also saw Qin Ruo Chu at first glance, however, when she saw Qin Ruo Chu dressed in the qipao, she couldn't maintain the smile on the corner of her mouth.
