As night fell, Gu Ren and Ye Zhi walked into the room.
Gu Ren walked to the window, raising his hands to close the curtain. When the curtains draped over the glass, it blocked the light outside.
Ye Zhi walked over to the bed and turned on a small lamp by the bed. The lights dimmed and the surroundings darkened. Ye Zhi remembered that the bedside light was also turned on that day.
After Gu Ren and Ye Zhi replicated the scene, they laid side by side on the bed. Time passed quietly, and soon, it was eleven o’clock in the evening.
They looked at each other and interlaced their fingers.
It was then eleven thirty in the evening.
Ye Zhi took a deep breath, “I’m a little nervous.”
Gu Ren held Ye Zhi’s hand tightly and said in a low voice, “No matter what, I’ll be by your side.”
One minute before the stroke of midnight, they placed their wedding rings together and clung to each other.
After a while, a ‘tick’ sound suddenly sounded in the air. The very soft sound broke the silence with such clarity, it felt like some form of foreshadowing.
Outside the window was the faint moonlight. The night wind entered and the curtains floated slightly. The moonlight shone and illuminated the corner that was in front of the bed.
The air was still silent as Gu Ren and Ye Zhi left.
While Ye Zhi and Gu Ren were in a coma, Nie Jiqing would come to Gu Ren’s house every day to see the couple.
In the end, the housekeeper directly helped Nie Jiqing arrange a guest room.
As long as Nie Jiqing missed Ye Zhi, she could immediately go to see her in the room. In this way, Nie Jiqing’s anxiousness could become a little more settled.
Not only Nie Jiqing, but also Senior Master Gu and Gu Ren’s parents came diligently. They visited frequently, looking forward to the day when they would wake up, walk around the house full of their usual exuberant laughter.
Sheng Yu also kept coming to visit. If it weren’t for the fact that the company needed his services, he would have chosen to stay in Gu Ren’s house as well.
In the morning, Nie Jiqing opened her eyes. She wasn’t fully awake yet, but she subconsciously began to count the days.
The number of days that have passed since Ye Zhi and Gu Ren were in a coma. She counted again and it’s been exactly one week as of today.
Nie Jiqing sighed and got up again. After washing up, she didn’t even eat her breakfast before walking straight to Ye Zhi’s room.
