“Be obedient.”
I was thrown into a fairly spacious jail cell.
I don’t have any shackles on me right now, but I’m a little bit worried. I guess I’ll just rest until Ril comes.
“Newcomer, what did you get captured for?”
A voice asked from the cell facing mine.
The voice comes from a dwarf, who looks quite strong himself. I suppose I’ll talk with him for now, it’s not like I have much better to do.
“The crime of not selling hide to the king.”
“Something like that again…”
He uttered, sighing.
“What was your crime?”
“Treason, just for warning him to stop doing something.”
“He’s a rather short-fused king.”
“Yeah, I was just trying to stop him from doing a mass monster hunt in the Great Forest.”
So that’s why he wanted the hide so badly, to strengthen his army. I feel like I protected the peace in the forest.
“Was there some sort of goal he had?”
“No, he just said he wanted to get at least a hundred kills for material collecting.”
Good thing I didn’t trust him.
“I expected someone amazing because I heard that he’s been ruling for a hundred years, so it’s a bit disappointing.”
“Sorry about that. I apologize in place of Sir Dwar.”
“I mean, even if you apologize for him…”
“That’s a fake.”
What?
“That’s the younger brother, Sir Dorf.”
What?! The brother of the king!
“He’s a tyrant, using Sir Dwar’s name to do what he wants.”
“Where’s the real one?”
“In a solitary confinement unit at the end of the hall. It’s fully made of iron and has a curse put on it so you can’t exert power.”
Well that’s quite secure. But that means that the one that the grandfather mentioned was that one, so I should set him free for my sake as well.
“What would happen if I set him free?”
“Before that, can you escape yourself?”
“Don’t worry about that, this is just a hypothetical. Would he regain his kingship?”
“It wouldn’t go smoothly but maybe he can get back to a position like that.”
Mm, so it won’t go so easily. Human society is so tiresome… Wait, I’m saying it like I’m a monster.
“Anyway, the best I can do is break out of this jail and escort you afterwards, nothing on the political side.”
“Why do you go that far for us? Do you have an objective in this?”
“I do have one, though I won’t say it for now.”
“Ryu, are you ok?”
""
Oh, she’s here. I can get out then.
“Welcome back Ril. I have a bit of work for you.”
“Work?”
“We’re going to save the real king. Let the fake king who tricked me face the iron fist of justice. Also, go back to your normal size after we get out of here, I want to surprise them a bit.”
“Eeh, this place is small so I don’t want to.”
“Just in front of the fake king is fine then.”
“Sure if it’s in that big room. More importantly, let’s get out of here.”
“Yeah, you’re right.”
Getting out of here comes first.
Thinking so, I kick the iron bars to cripple them. It’s easy if I use [Increased Physical Attributes].
“I’ll break your cell as well, so stand back please.”
He moved to the corner despite being in a state of shock, so I break it quickly.
“By the way, what’s your occupation?”
“I’m a [Knight]. What’s yours?”
He asks back, looking as curious as a cat.
“It’s [Tamer].”
I said, laughing.
