Prologue: A Lazy Life

I, Jirei Lalo, start my day with a double nap after waking up.

First, I wake up at a reasonable time in the morning.

If I was thirsty, I would quench my thirst with (Water Generation – Create Water) while lying down.

Then took out what I could eat from the (Other Space Storage Item Box) and ate, then dove back into the soft blanket again.

And then, I fall asleep, savoring the fluffy, pleasant sensation of falling asleep, that is double napping.

This is my favorite feeling in the world.

Even if I have a bad day in real life, I can forget about it in this moment without thinking about anything else….. For example, for some reason I was recruited into a party of heroes and a princess of a country asked me to marry her.

「The best….. Living a lazy life is the best…!!」

I wrapped myself up in a fluffy, luxurious-looking blanket and savored the warm, comfortable, blissful moment with my whole body.

To top it all off, it seems that the fourth princess of the Uniwersia Kingdom, Raffine, who is supported immensely by the people, has somehow found out that I’m the one she’s meant to be with, she’s asked me to marry her.

It’s been a really turbulent time. I don’t want that much of a pain in the ass ever again. Seriously.

――Since then, I’ve been running as fast as I can without a break to Magikosmia……. I was able to arrive in two days.

Normally, it would have taken me twelve days by carriage, but I got there in two days. You can see that I worked really hard.

After arriving in Magikosmia, I went to the house of Char, a girl I had a little relationship with and had taken care of in the past, and asked her to shelter me for a while.

I thought she would be reluctant, but Char was rather very happy and said, “You can stay here forever!”, she welcomed me. I did it.

And now I’m living in a room in Char’s huge mansion, with all my daily necessities and other things prepared (with Char’s money).

After taking up residence, I’ve been staying in this house all day, as a reaction to my recent overly busy days…….I suppose that can’t be helped.

I don’t even move from my bed except to go to the bathroom or take a bath, but that can’t be helped. I don’t do any work, and I’m a complete pimp, but it can’t be helped. It’s no use. I’ll work sooner or later. Maybe.

「――kun! ――up　――Jirei-kun, it’s time to get up!」

「Well, let’s go to bed again.」 I said, wrapped in a blanket and closing my eyelids as a pretty girl’s voice sounded in my ears.

「Wake me up in 3 hours…..」

I pull the blanket deeper over my head and answer.

「No! That’s what you said yesterday and you didn’t wake up! And it’s already midnight! It’s time for lunch!」

However, the girl didn’t gave up, “Wake up!”, and tried to wake me up by shaking my body.

「――Funn…. That’s weak, Char. You can’t wake me up with that much shaking…….! Did you forget that I have the blessing of sleep? On the contrary, it’s like a cradle and it’s making me sleepy…..!!」

「――Wh…. B, but even with the blessing of sleep, I can’t believe you’re still awake like this――D, don’t tell me the blessign has evolved……!?」

「You understand now, don’t you? Yes, my sleep blessing has evolved to a higher level, “eternal sleep”――」

「――Mou! Stop messing around and wake up! I just came back in my work break and made you lunch!」

The girl――Char said, “I made it for you, Jirei-kun!” and “Let’s eat together!”. She shakes me even harder and tries to wake me up.

Of course, there is no such thing as a “sleep” blessing. In the first place, blessings don’t evolve. It’s just that Char went along with it. She was in a good mood.

「I understand…… I’ll get up properly, so stop shaking my head from side to side so violently. I’m going to throw up.」

She shook me so hard that I felt a slight vomiting sensation and poked my head out of the blanket.

「You’re finally awake! Jirei-kun, here! Come here!」

When Char saw that I was awake, she quickly moved to the door and beckoned me with a happy face.

I stare again at Char’s appearance.

Her hair is as red as a flame and shines.

Her beautiful eyes sparkle as brightly as red jade rubies.

Her ears are long, a characteristic of elves, and her skin shows a fresh luster that makes it hard to believe she is over 500 years old.

Her hair is just below her chin, not over her shoulders, and she wears a cute rabbit hair clip in the front, giving her hair a fluffy look overall.

And there’s one thing that’s really bothering me――

「――Ji, Jirei-kun? Wh…. what is it?」

Char asks me, blushing and squirming as she stares at me.

「……」

I got off the bed, stood up, and walked over to her.

「….Char」

Then―― I grabbed both of Char’s shoulders and looked at her in the eye.

Char’s face turned bright red as she said “Eh?”, “Is this” and “I’m glad, but it’s in the middle of the day” or something like that――For some reason, she closes her eyes and pouts her lips. …….What are you doing?

「Here, you have bed hair.」

「Be gentle…. Hee?」

I point out the bouncing bed hair on the top of Char’s head and tell her about it.

Char’s face turned even redder…… and she slumped down, covering her face with her hands.

……After all, as a girl, she was probably embarrassed to be seen like this.

It’s a feeling I don’t understand at all. I’ve never styled my hair before. I always leave it like it is when I go out. It’s so annoying.

「――Mooou! You’re always trying to mislead me, Jirei-kun! Girls get in trouble when you do that!!!」

Char turned her head down and shook for a few seconds, then puffed out her cheeks and said, “I’m angry”. I’m sure she’s angry…. Because of the fact that she looks like a small pet, it doesn’t scare me at all.

When I replied in an appropriate manner, “Hee-hee, I understand.”, she said “Hey! Listen to what your older sister says!”. Char gently hits me.

….Incidentally, she calls me “kun” because she is older than me.

The first time I met her, she was crying and had no dignity whatsoever, so how can she afct like a big sister now?

Also, the age difference between us is over 500 years, she’s not a big sister anymore, she’s a crandmother. I’m not going to tell her that, because I’m sure she’ll cry and kick me out if I do.

Besides, when I told her about it once, the quality of the food she cooked for me dropped for about three days.

I desperately tried to apologize, but she wouldn’t back down, and I couldn’t eat her insanely delicious food, so it was really tough. That was a new kind of torture.

After that, I made up my mind to never mention her age ever again. There’s no need for me to go out of my way to step on a landmine.

「――Jirei-kun, over here! I’ve prepared food for you over here!」

Char tugged on the hem of her dress and led the way.

As I was being pulled along by Char, I was filled with anticipation, imagining what was on the menu for lunch today…….
