“Oh…As one would expect of a ‘magic’ country. Everywhere you look, you can see magic being used…Is it because of the upcoming Birthday Festival?”

“Jirei-kun doesn’t come to these streets that much… Every year when the ‘Birthday Festival’ comes around, people get excited like this! Some stores have already set up their stalls as early as——Ah! There’s a ‘hero manju’ stall over there! I want some!”

“Hmm…But there’s a line…I’m off to the reception for the magic convention, so Char can buy some.”

“Muuu, I’ll stop then…I won’t be able to stay together with Jirei-kun…”

A few days after making plans with Luna.

Char and I were walking along the streets of Magikosmaia, to the venue of the magic convention.

I was supposed to head to the venue on my own, but Char wanted to close her store to go support the event, that’s why we’re heading there together.

I told her I didn’t need any support, but…Well, If Char wants to, then that’s fine. She’s smiling and having fun.

“At any rate…It’s still amazing.”

I let out a breath of admiration when I saw the glittering magic and magic tools being used all over in the city.

Looking up at the sky, I saw people flying on colorful magic brooms (usable only within the boundaries of Magikosmaia), manufactured by Matita.

Strolling along the streets are ornate carts pulled by horse-shaped magical creatures created by magic.

Various spirits of wind, earth, fire, etc, gathered as if drawn by the dense magic power and the joyful atmosphere, which only those who can see can understand.

The town’s residents were cheerful, perhaps due to the fact that the ‘Birthday Festival’ would soon be approaching, and they laughed happily at the clown’s magical performances and bards taking place all around them.

The whole town is magical.

First-time visitors to Magikosmaia will, without a doubt, be amazed at the sight. It is that tremendous.

And I heard it’s even more amazing on the day of the Birthday Festival, so it will be a sight to behold. I’ve never seen it, so I didn’t know about it, but this year I’m getting tickets (to be confirmed) for the Ancient Relics Exhibition from Eve, so I’m a little excited to see what it’s like.

“Oh, that’s it. …Well, I’m off to the reception for a bit. See you later.”

As I walked along the streets, I saw a not-at-all-cute costumed character holding a placard that read, “The reception desk for the magic convention is here →→ (No entry except by those concerned)”, so I parted ways with Char and followed the instructions to the reception desk.

…This is trivial, but seriously, this costumed character is not cute. It seems to be a character designed for this convention, but I don’t think anyone would think it’s cute. Its eyes are popping out, and it’s more scary than cute. Seriously, whoever thought of it is crazy.

“Yes, yes! You are a participant, right? Please show your entry tickets and fill out these forms!”

The registration desk was less crowded than I expected, and within a few minutes it was my turn.

I took out my entry ticket, handed it to the receptionist, filled out the form with my name, organization, adventurer rank and other brief information, and submitted it.

“Fumu, fumu. The organization you belong to is the Royal Magikos Academy……And the recommendation is coming from Aldi the Principal?! I, it’s a recommendation from such a big name…!?”

“…Really, he’s only famous for his name, that guy.”

The woman at the reception desk looks at the information on the paperwork and sounds surprised.

…I am sincerely wondering why that damn cat is a very famous figure in magical affairs. I heard that he holds a very high position in the magical institution……I don’t remember much because I don’t care. My perception of him is that he’s just a clingy, bad-natured, shitty cat.

“Sorry, I need you to make it quick…?”

After glancing around the room, which was beginning to buzz because of the receptionist’s loud voice, I rushed to tell them to hurry up. The receptionist gasped and panicked at my urging and resumed processing the paperwork.

“I, I am sorry! Um, the name on the ticket is, “Ray Rosiler”…Um, I hate to say this, but I don’t think you should use the same name as Ray——”

“What’s this about?”

The receptionist says such a thing with an apologetic look on her face as soon as she sees the name on the document. Same name? I don’t know who Ray is to begin with.

“I just put it there randomly… I don’t know who Ray is, but I don’t want to get in trouble, so I’ll change it——”

As I was about to say that,

“——Eeh!? You must be missing out on half of your life if you are in Magikosmaia and don’t know who Ray is! There, there! It’s that man, that man!”

The receptionist, for some reason, raised her voice, her eyes widened, and she pointed to a large object the size of three adults in a slightly distant plaza——To a bronze statue.

I moved my head languidly to look at the indicated statue.

Full-body armor with stylish and cool design.

Likewise, there’s also a cool-looking long sword that looks great with the armor.

In the first place, the tremendously handsome face sculpture seemed fired up, and its eyes seemed to shine and glitter.

The pose is overly lively and I can feel the skill of a master craftsman….If I had to sum up my impression in one word, I would say that the statue looks like it costs a lot of money.

“That man is the hero, Ray, who saved Magikosmaia! I also watched him in action at the time, and he is truly a hero among heroes…He has a kind heart, and thanks to him, the town developed and even now there are many fan clubs——”

“I see…I see, un, un.”

The receptionist insists, “Ray LOVE” in a chattering, raging manner. I pass it off, pretending to listen appropriately. Because I’m not interested. Please just hurry up and finish the reception.

“Also, at the upcoming ‘Birthday Festival’, everyone will be dressed up with red hair, in honor of the fact that Ray-sama had red hair.”

Speaking of red hair——When I came to Magikosmaia during my training, I wore a red-haired wig.

Back then, I was so embarrassed that I disguised myself and changed my name due to the aftereffects of a disease peculiar to puberty. It is completely black history. I never want to remember it again.

“Ray…Hero Ray, hmm…”

Well, I think the person Eve was referring to was also named Ray….Well it’s a common name, so it doesn’t matter. I think I’ve got the wrong guy.
