“No, you can’t. Don’t you think it’s pathetic to say that?”
I said, standing next to Akasaki-senpai.
“You’re a trainee, aren’t you? Don’t get carried away just because you can do something.”
The three seniors made fun of me.
If it had been me before, I would have backed down already.
“You seniors are not good at some of the things you do, are you?
Then shouldn’t you help each other out?”
Then one of the seniors said
“Shut up, you little brat. I’ve come all the way here for training to get into this company, and it would be bad if I’m dropped at the interview, wouldn’t it?”
“I’m in human resources, so I can drop you at any time.”
I knew I was set up to be a college student. Well, this company is full of nice people, so I think the only people like this are the people here, but I don’t think Akasaki-senpai is following them either.
“No problem.”
“Damn it. Then I’ll drop you.”
And the three of them went back.
“Are you all right, senpai?”
“You’re strong, aren’t you? They are my colleagues, so I can’t say anything strongly because if things go bad with them, I won’t be able to stay in the company.”
“Are there any other people like this?”
“No one else. They are all very kind. That’s why it was so hard for them when they started working.
The afternoon went by without a hitch. Many of the people at this company are good at their jobs, so I have a lot to learn from them.
The section chief asked me how my day was going. I was asked a lot of questions, and while I was answering them, it was time for me to go to work.
“All right, let’s have a welcome party for Sato-kun today!”
“No, that’s fine. I’ve only been here for two weeks.”
Actually, I’ll be here for three days. That seems to be the arrangement.
“I don’t care, I don’t care! We all haven’t had a chance to do it lately, right?”
And they all said
“Let’s do it!”
Akasaki-senpai also joined in
It can’t be helped. Then I’ll let Mirei san…
“Sato kun, let’s go!”
“Wait a minute!”
In the end, we all went to a nearby izakaya without being able to contact Mirei san
“Then let’s make a toast to the arrival of Sato-kun!”
Of course I can’t drink alcohol, so I drank oolong tea.
“What? You don’t drink alcohol?” Akasaki-senpai asks me.
“I can’t drink at all…”
“I see….I guess it can’t be helped then.”
He drank his beer in one gulp.
I actively spoke with people I had not yet spoken with at my new assignment.
“Sato kun, what club do you play in?”
“Tennis, I guess?”
It’s a club activity.
“I’m in a club, too. I hope we can play together next time.”
“Yes!”
“Do you have a girlfriend?”
Mirei san and I are engaged, she said so herself.
“I don’t have a girlfriend.”
“Sato kun, I think Akasaki’s been crushed.”
“I understand! I’ll get some water from the clerk!”
I’m sure it’s still okay. Mirei might still be working.
I was taking care of my senpai, and then it was time to go.
“Is senpai alright?”
“Ugh~.”
I’m probably the only high school student to take home a senpai who got crushed at a drinking party, right?
I was not going to go home alone, so I decided to call a cab to take him home.
“Can I borrow your key?
“Is it okay here?”
I put him on the bed.
“Yes, thank you.”
“Good night.”
“Good night.”
I open my phone.
“Ah.”
It’s 10:00. I have three missed calls and a RINE notification.
“Oh no.”
I look at it.
“Where are you? “Are you okay?”” I wish you’d answer me.”
I hurried home.
I was so glad that my poor sense of direction had been put to rest by this time.
“I’m home…”
I open and close the door slowly.
“Welcome home.”
“Mirei-san…”
Mirei was already waiting behind me.
“Shall we go to our room for the time being?
“Yes…”
The hand held by Mirei san was a little stronger than usual.
