Chapter 4: Transmigrated to a Novel (2)

People of the devil city praised Xuan Bin’s superior talent and the fact that he had practiced austerities to the peak before he reached 60. Even more, he had an extraordinary nature and protected the young devil emperor from the hands of the betraying officials, helping the youth succeed the throne. What a pity that the young devil emperor wasn’t living up to expectations as he had an arrogant personality and was also useless, being that he was unable to culture and refine.

Besides these two in the palace, probably only Ye Yu knew the truth about the immortal vs. devil world. Xuan Bin was the one who ruthlessly murdered all in the devil palace, personally breaking the young devil emperor, Xuan Yi’s foundation for practicing austerities, and even killed all the devil officials who supported the old devil emperor. He was the ultimate crafty scoundrel.

If it weren’t that the devil palace only recognizes the descendents of the old devil emperor who were directly related to him, the young puppet devil emperor, Xuan Yi, would’ve long been replaced and murdered by Xuan Bin.

When Ye Yu thought of this, she looked at the devil palace in pity and walked towards a restaurant in the southeast direction without looking back.

——

Of the two in the devil palace, the older one knows how to pretend while the younger one has done an even better job at this. What was most scary was that he endured everything one found to be impossible.

The younger one was harsher and crueler, so it was better if Ye Yu just stayed far away from the both.

Ye Yu walked another hundred meters and arrived at her destination — An Xiang Teahouse.

At the door of the teahouse, the waiter saw Ye Yu and happily rushed over to welcome her.

“Lady Ye, you’re here. There have been a few people waiting within the room for you.”

Ye Yu kept her ‘great master demeanor’ and walked into the teahouse.

After going through her modern marketing tactics, she had already made herself well-known as the ‘fortune-teller’ within the near two months of being here.

Now, she had her own ‘stall’ which was in this An Xiang Teahouse.

The customers who wanted to experience fortune-telling had to wait in the teahouse in advance and they would have to drink some tea or eat a bit. Therefore, the owner of the teahouse was more than willing to give a reserved table for Ye Yu, so she had saved the effort of paying fee for the stall or store as well as the trouble of living on the streets.

Within the near two months, the two parties were delighted with their cooperation.

The customers in this teahouse had been peeking over and waiting eager for Ye Yu, so the moment they saw her, they immediately stood up and slightly bowed.

“Great master Ye —”

Everyone else also addressed her, with all sorts of salutations like “Great master Ye” or “Deity Ye.”

Ye Yu politely and amiably nodded at them and then sat at her usual table.

“Did everyone grab their wooden boards?”

“We got it, we got it.”

Everyone said in unison.

Ye Yu said, “Then please line up according to your number, one by one…”

Before Ye Yu could finish, someone excitedly ran over and sat by the long bench besides Ye Yu, saying, “Great master Ye, I’m the first one!”

“Ok, what do you want to know?”

“About my wealth! Great master Ye, please see if I’m going to become wealthy in the future!”

Ye Yu reached towards the brush, pencil, and ink-stone, indicating at the person.

“Write something?”

“Yes!” That person responded happily and grabbed the paper, writing something and then handing it to Ye Yu in two hands.

They were extremely cautious as if they were holding gold and not paper.

Ye Yu glanced at it and thought: … so ugly.

Despite thinking this, Ye Yu remained expressionless and then started to observe the other party, saying, “Let me check out your pulse.”

That person was stunned and asked, “How does my luck in becoming wealthy have anything to do with my pulse? Don’t people look at pulses when they’re sick?”

“Body is the foundation of wealth. If you aren’t healthy, what’s the point of having money?”

Ye Yu made something up without a change in expression.

Yet, that person believed it and extended their hands over.

Ye Yu placed her hand on the person’s wrist and her mind went into action.

No one could see the imaginary frame appearing in front of Ye Yu…

By the time Ye Yu had finished fortune-telling for the people on line, the sun had already risen.

She estimated the time and prepared to head back.

Though when she was about to stand, Ye Yu’s expression suddenly changed, but she quickly adjusted herself. She glanced around the teahouse and there were no customers right now. Even the waiter was leaning against the counter and taking a nap, making her feel a bit more at ease now.

Then, she looked down at the secret pocket she sewed on her pants.

If she was correct, the ‘brick’ must’ve vibrated.

The moment she thought of this, her heartbeat had pounded heavily.

After being transmigrated into this world for nearly two months, besides knowing the time and weather, she had never noticed any changes from the ‘brick’ yet.

After confirming that no one was paying attention to her, Ye Yu took out the phone from her pocket and the lit up locked screen had no changes.

Ye Yu wasn’t anxious and she unlocked her phone, seeing the familiar e-reader. However, what changed was a small notification window on the center of the e-reader:
