“Tsk.”
“I guess you got dumped again, my little brother.”
A giggle echoed through the room. Geum Myeong-yeol bristled at the hand gesture to dishevel his hair.
“Stop it.”
“Why? You don’t feel good about being dumped? Do you want me to buy you ice cream?”
Her golden eyes, which looked just like his, glowed darkly.
Geum Yi-rang, master of Nectar, the top ten guilds in England, and a S-rank hunter called the Druid, chuckled and punched him on the shoulder.
“I’m not a kid, I don’t need it.”
He sighed in disbelief, and the laughter grew louder. He felt that he had caught the number of cases not after a long time.
‘I shouldn’t have left then.’
Geum Myeong-yeol’s brow cracked as he sank into the couch. He had rarely felt regret in his life, but this time was different.
The meeting with Geum Yi-rang had been scheduled over a month ago. A promise he couldn’t break, and if he did, he couldn’t live with it.
But as things turned out, he regretted it.
‘I didn’t expect a fight there.’
Nam Se-woo is quite the character, but he’s serious about his mission, and he’s fallen for a provocation. As if that weren’t bad enough, he’s so distracted by the fight that he doesn’t realize Han Cha-soo has been captured by Ki Tae-yeon.
It was only natural that Geum Myeong-yeol would be the one to show up at the end of this ridiculous string of coincidences.
“It’s been a while since I’ve seen you so anxious. Are you sure this time?”
Geum Yi-rang asked, her face no longer smiling. Geum Myeong-yeol frowned, as if he didn’t know what she was talking about.
“Don’t be silly, I thought I told you that I had found a replacement for the Earrings of the Reversal.”
Geum Yi-rang’s eyes widened. She pounded her chest in frustration.
“You didn’t tell me it was a socket item with three S-class abilities!”
“Of course, if I’d said that into the phone, it would have been all over the world in less than half a day.”
“Aha. So it’s my fault?”
“You could have at least come to Korea, sister.”
“Do you think that’s possible?”
She pursed her lips and pointed to the cracked ceiling.
A crystal-white tree was nailed upside down there. Its green leaves swayed in the absence of a breeze and a clinking sound echoed through the air like tiny jewels clashing.
It was the ‘Tree of the Holy Spirit of the Lowlands’.
A tree with the power to repel evil, suppress evil, and purify. The reason it was nailed to the ceiling of the suburban mansion was because of Geum Myeong-yeol.
Half a year ago, the Earrings of the Reversal broke, and he lost control of the evil spirit.
Naturally, the evil spirit, sensing his weakened control, seized the opportunity to take control of him, and the rest is history.
Geum Yi-rang had struggled to get the seeds of the tree for her little brother, and it had finally sprouted.
But the younger brother now pretends not to know his sister’s pain because he found a replacement….
“Thanks for your help, but it’s okay now, I’ve got a replacement.”
Increase the stats of the Curse Class S attribute. That’s enough to regain control of the lost evil spirits.
The corner of his mouth quirked up at the confident tone.
“You speak as if it will be yours immediately.”
He shrugged. It was meant to be obvious, why bother?
Geum Yi-rang smirked and jerked her chin.
“Do you really think so, when he’s been hiding out at the house of a nice S-rank healer who’s rejecting all of your messages and calls since he’s taken away by the Awakening Management Bureau because of your guild member?”
“…….”
“Hey, do you think it’ll be easy to seduce him to sign a couple item contract? Forget it. Stay here for a while. You’ll be kicked out after I’m full of ghosts.”
Geum Yi-rang left the room, leaving her brother behind.
It’s the best to make fun of Geum Myeong-yeol.
Her steps were light as she descended the stairs.
“What the hell.”
Han Cha-soo got out of the shower and was a little surprised to see Geum Myeong-yeol’s name all over his missed calls.
‘I’m a little scared at this point.’
After a moment’s thought, Han Cha-soo opened the message window.
‘It’s not like I can ignore him forever.’
He wrote a quick message to say hello, and he replied immediately.
[You’re the only one who makes me so anxious, really]
[I need you to stay safe until I get back]
I wish I hadn’t sent it. Han Cha-soo immediately swiped the screen closed. The time was 10 a.m. He still had about an hour before Baek-sun would arrive.
“Hmm… I’ll take a look around the house.”
He hadn’t toured the house yesterday because he’d fallen asleep. But his plans were derailed as soon as he stepped into the hallway.
“Ugh!”
An intense smell of spices wafted through the house. The aroma was so intense that it made me sneeze.
“What the hell are you cooking…. This is crazy.”
Han Cha-soo couldn’t help but swear as he checked out the restaurant.
A huge whole pig was roasting in the middle of the huge space. There was even a wood fire to keep it warm.
“…….”
I didn’t have to get close to see it. The source of the smell that was assaulting my nostrils was that roasting pig.
“It’s not some kind of banquet….”
Who the hell eats all this stuff? I frowned, and then I heard a guttural sound from somewhere.
Dada dada dada.
“Whoooo….”
It was the sound of chopping, stirring, and boiling water. Han Cha-soo checked the dining room table afterward.
There were four tables where there had been one yesterday. A chill ran down his spine.
‘He said he loved his brother, but did he plan to kill him by bursting his stomach?’
I wondered, but I didn’t have the heart to ask. I knew I wouldn’t understand if he told me why.
Han Cha-soo walked out of the dining room with a frown on his face.
Ding-dong
As if on cue, the bell rang, and a sullen voice called out to him.
“Han Chasoo-ssi, where are you going?”
The voice grabbed him by the back of the head. Han Cha-soo turned his head, trying to remain calm. Baek-dam, who had just come out of the kitchen, was staring at him intently.
“Where am I going, I’m not going anywhere… wait, why are you making such a face?”
“Your eyes are disrespectful.”
“What?”
“You just looked at me like you could see things I couldn’t.”
This guy is unnecessarily sharp. Han Cha-soo clicked his tongue inwardly, but Baek-dam closed the distance.
The movement was too fast for my eyes to follow.
“You’re not trying to run away now, are you?”
Kwaak. The hands on his shoulders were heavy. Like they wouldn’t let him escape. The backs of his hands glowed with golden energy.
“It can’t be.”
“I don’t believe it.”
“Then why on earth did you ask… wait, wait, wait, let’s calm down, Baekdam-ssi.”
“I don’t want to.”
A thick arm tightened around his waist. Han Cha-soo squirmed, but there was no way he could overcome the S-rank strength.
“So you were trying to get away.”
“No, I wasn’t… let go of me!”
Han Cha-soo struggled. Smiling broadly, Baek-dam tightened his grip on his waist.
“You’re not going to throw him out now, are you? He came all the way here because of you, you should show him that you’re in good health.”
Madness flashed in Baek-dam’s eyes as he spoke. His eyes were filled with obsession and desire for his brother.
Han Cha-soo was at a loss for words. Baek-dam seized the moment.
“Ugh!”
What a strength. Han Cha-soo continued to cling to Baek-dam as they crossed the hallway. Every time Baek-dam moved, his vision flickered like crazy.
“Ugh….”
Han Cha-soo gritted his teeth at the rising earthenware.
‘Shall I disable the regeneration skill?’
He squinted his eyes and was about to call up the status window. Baek-dam stopped walking.
“Oh, I almost forgot.”
He leaned down to make eye contact.
“If you’re having trouble, tell me now, because I’m going to need to change my posture to heal on the way.”
“…And when you say posture, what kind of posture are you talking about?”
“Have you ever been held like a princess?”
Han Cha-soo quietly turned off the status window.
Yes, it was Baek-dam, not Ki Tae-yeon. An S-rank healer who could hug people and still cast healing.
“Just a little slower, please.”
I’m guilty of being held by an S-rank healer. Han Cha-soo asked in frustration, and Baek-dam smiled broadly.
“Of course, don’t worry.”
“Haa….”
For the first time since he was possessing the villain. Han Cha-soo thought it would be better to be imprisoned by the protagonist.
If Jung Yiheon, who was in the middle of dungeon raid heard it, he would have been very happy.
Meanwhile, Baek-sun stood at the gate and looked up at the high wall.
“I don’t want to go in.”
Despite his declaration that he would never come home again, he did. Well, a self-inflicted wound.
“Phew.”
It wasn’t long before he heard footsteps running down the garden.
Thump, thump, thump!
‘Are those footsteps welcoming me home or warning me that I’m about to be beaten?’
He listened, but he couldn’t tell. Apparently, two years of running away had made him forget a lot of things.
Baek-sun deliberately stretched his back stiffly. If Baek-dam were to snarl at him, he would be ready to fight back.
Then the iron gate opened smoothly. Baek-sun didn’t relax, and the three of them finally came face to face.
“What’s wrong with your face?”
Baek-sun’s voice echoed down the street.
“What is it, Sun?”
“His skin is all chapped. You said he’s healthy because he’s been eatingand sleeping hard. You said I don’t have to worry. Is this a normal human face? What’s that red thing at the nape of his neck? Do you have eyes, you idiot!”
Baek-sun who was grabbing Han Cha-soo’s cheek, shouted.
