Chapter 140
Side Story 3. Spring Day (2)
Cassius’s fingertips with the ring were shaking slightly.
His beautiful gold eyes had a grim glow, but they showed signs of nervousness.
“Yes…….?”
The words slipped out of my mouth in embarrassment.
I was going to ask Cassius to marry me after the summer, but I didn’t know that I would be asked to marry him so suddenly.
I was like a robot broken with happy and bewildering emotions.
Cassius opened his mouth in a white, urgent voice, whether he thought I didn’t like the proposal much.
“Yerine, you must be very surprised. I’m sorry for suddenly asking you to marry me.”
He looked worried and took his knees off the carpet.
“I’m not asking you to marry me right now, but I won’t if you don’t like it.”
The words brought me to my senses and shouted.
“Oh, no, wait a minute!”
Then I got up from the sofa and grabbed Cassius’s sleeve with both hands and said.
“What do you mean by don’t get married right away, what’s wrong with that?”
“Ye, Yerine?”
“I’m…….”
I opened my mouth in a hurry, but I was embarrassed when I tried to speak out.
But I had to say this.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath and spoke, holding Cassius’s arms.
“I can get married right away. No, I’d like to get married right away if Cassius doesn’t mind.”
When I looked up with a face heated up with excitement, Cassius looked down at me with a very surprised look.
Then I asked him in the eye.
“……do you hate it, Cassius?”
Cassius shook his head violently at my question without hesitation for a second.
“No, it can’t be! Absolutely not.”
Then he hesitated for a moment and opened his arms to embrace me.
“Yerine, you don’t know, but I’ve been wanting to marry you for years. I mean it sincerely.”
Naturally, I buried my head on his shoulder and he began to pat my back with one hand, sighing and talking.
“If I could, it’s on my side that I want to have the ceremony right now.”
When I heard Cassius’s voice, which seemed a little weak, I also swept his back.
It was like petting a big puppy.
“I should have told you earlier if this was the case.”
“Huh?”
“I thought Cassius wasn’t ready yet, so I was going to wait a little longer, and then talk about marriage when things get less after the summer.”
Cassius then stretched his waist and asked, with his eyes wide open.
“Really?”
As I nodded quietly, Cassius made a painful sound and pointed his forehead with one hand.
“I haven’t talked about it in the meantime because I thought it would be too much for you to talk about marriage.”
Expectedly.
The reason I guessed was right.
“But I heard something last time, so I took courage today.”
“You hear something? What did you hear?”
Cassius began telling the story about a month ago when I had a tea party with my Academy classmates after the Housemates meeting.
He wanted to see my face for a moment, so he stopped by Noble State Field in the name of an important letter to be delivered to me.
But he said he overheard our conversation just before delivering the letter.
And when he heard that I wanted to marry Cassius, he was encouraged to propose today.
“Hold, hold on. Were you listening to all that?”
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to listen…….”
Cassius avoided my eyes and blurted the end of his words.
“But I was very happy that day.”
Cassius said, blushing his face.
Looking at his smile, I replied with a smile.
“I’m happy, too.”
Then Rachel chuckled and waved her hand.
“It’s really nothing. And we don’t have much time to meet and talk during the wedding ceremony, and you’ll be busy preparing for your honeymoon afterwards. That’s why we’re here early.”
Stopped in the middle, she glanced aside.
“Of course there are other reasons.”
I asked back because I didn’t know what she meant by that because I didn’t miss the movement of her mysterious eyes, which seemed to be mixed with orange and pumpkin colours.
“Huh? Any other reason?”
When I looked at Rachel’s gaze, I found a pair of legs that were hidden from others so far.
Next to Eugene, around the bridge behind Astra, a dark green cape shook.
“That’s right, Yerine.”
Astra opened her mouth in a low voice.
“There’s one more person who wants to congratulate you on your marriage.”
