Chapter 164: Killing the Sublevel 4 Guards

The ogre guards' cleavers actually reached Stark, hitting both his neck and waist.

But... he still had that big smile on his face, one that the ogres absolutely hated.

Even though they knew he was fucked now that he was stunned, they hated that stupid confidence of his.

But they were wrong...

[The Purgatory Shadow took the hit]

It was indeed two attacks, but they were aimed at him at the same time, meaning that his shadow came out of the ring and stopped both cleavers, pushing back the guards.

['Paralyzed' effect has been removed.]

And with that, Stark, his eyes still burning with aura, dashed straight for one the guards that had executed the cleaver slash.

"CLONE FRENZY!" and he summoned two other clones , sending them at the second guard.

"Aura Smash..." Stark focused his aura in his hands then sent three crimson fists at the guard.

~BOOM, BOOM, BOOM~

Learning from its companion's mistake, it knew it couldn't avoid such attacks, so instead... it used its cleaver as some sort of shield.

"-37462! -36011! -39874!" the damage was still high, but not enough to kill it.

"STOMP!" meanwhile, the two other guards weren't doing nothing, not only did they get closer to Stark and his clones, but they also lifted their foots again, with more power this time.

~SLAM~

They hit the ground, and it completely broke, cracks were everywhere now, except for the obsidian walls.

"CLEAVER SLASH!" knowing that Stark would be stunned again, the guard before him raised its cleaver and began to strike down.

But...

~JUMP, FWISH~

Stark just jumped to the side once the shockwave reached him, thus avoiding both it and the cleaver.

"Krawakr!!!" the guard spoke to his friends, his face full of surprise and sweat pouring out of its ugly forehead.

"S-SLAM!" almost hesitating, it used another skill, sending its empty fist toward Stark as it was surrounded by a powerful force.

The fist was half Stark's size, so the damage would be enough to kill him.

But Stark didn't stop, he knew he couldn't afford to. His aura was burning even brighter, as if fueled by the fear of the enemy.

['Sublevel 4 Guard B' has received the 'Dominated' status!]

But wait, if it that, then doesn't that mean...

story-at-NovelFire

[Perfect Dodge!]

'HOLY SHIT,' the world around Stark and his clone turned gray as everything moved slowly.

The interesting thing though was that the original Stark wasn't affected by the slow mode, meaning that if his clone avoided an attack perfectly, then he would also get additional seconds to think even without doing a [Perfect Dodge].

This was precious information he would make sure to remember.

~BAM, FWISH~

Using the additional seconds to think, the clone dodged the cleaver and... smashed the guard's hand using his crimson aura.

"KRAKRKKEA~" it screamed in pain as its arm reduced to pulp, at least more than it already was, forcing it to drop its cleaver.

"MAD RUSH!" its eyes glew in a crimson light as its speed increased and it began to attack the clone with both its hands (even the destroyed one), as well as its legs by trying to kick it.

But none of the attacks hit, and in less than a second, as the clone didn't waste time since 'Double Assault' only lasted 10 seconds, it was already behind the guard.

~SPIN, CRACK~

It cracked the monster's neck, killing it instantly.

"-158372!"

'Wait a damn minute, did a clone just make more damage than I ever did?' Stark mumbled with a neutral expression, it was a hit for his pride, 'Oh well, but he just shrugged in the end.'

"KRAAKRK!!!" the final guard was panicking after seeing its fourth companion die, and so it swung its cleaver in all directions in hopes of grazing and killing the clone.

But of course, it was mere useless hope that would never amount to anything.

~CRACK~

The clone appeared behind the guard again, and although it was anti-climatic, it just cracked its neck again.

"-156245!"

It wasn't as cool as defeating it with a punch, but it was much easier and also more efficient.

'Good job,' Stark got up from the cold destroyed ground and summoned his clone back after congratulating it for its victory.

And so with that, he got rid of five enemies, meaning he could keep going through this giant maze, hopefully not meeting the other participants as he didn't feel like fighting if they were aggressive.

Maybe some had already teamed up? He didn't know, but the fact no one had died after twenty minutes was a good sign.

Or that is what he hoped...

Stark didn't know the massacre had only started.
