Chapter 183: Obsession (4)

Chapter 183: Obsession (4)

While the host of the event was introducing the cast before they went on stage, Kang Ra-Eun called her three private bodyguards over.

“Do you see that man over there?”

Ma Yeong-Jun squinted.

“Are you talking about the one wearing the black hoodie?”

“Yeah.”

“I’m surprised he can wear something like that on a hot day like this...”

Yeong-Jun felt like he was dying in a black suit, but the stalker was even wearing the hood to hide his face as much as possible.

“So, what should we do with him?” Yeong-Jun asked.

Ra-Eun’s intuition was telling her that the man was dangerous, but she couldn’t accuse him of being a stalker since she had no surefire proof. Hence, Ra-Eun had set up a plan before coming to Busan on the off chance that the man did indeed follow her all the way here.

“Let’s go with Plan B,” Ra-Eun expressed.

The three bodyguards looked at each other. Yeong-Jun then asked for their sake, “What’s Plan B?”

“...”

It seemed like Ra-Eun needed to explain the plan first.

***

The cast of the film Shuttered?climbed up to the stage. Seo Tae-Yeon and Jin Seo-Yeong were beautiful enough to grab people’s attention, but Ra-Eun definitely stood out the most. Ra-Eun lifted the mic to her face and expressed her gratitude to the Busan fans that had come to see them.

“It’s so hot today, so I didn’t expect this many people to come see us. Thank you all so much once again.”

She covered her dress neck with her free hand while bowing so that her cleavage would not be visible. She had not thought to do such a thing in her initial days as a woman, but it had become a habit after getting reprimanded so many times for it.

The man in the black hoodie stared fixedly at Ra-Eun.

“...”

He raised up a camera while his eyes were laser focused on her.

Click!

And again, when she lifted her head back up from the bow.

Click, click!

Also when she smiled at everyone that had come to the event.

Click, click, click!

The man continuously pressed the shutter of his camera to take as many pictures of Ra-Eun as possible. The man believed that her blindingly beautiful smile belonged only to him. The emotion that was obsession swirled around his head like a whirlpool.

“Wait just a little longer,” he whispered to himself while ominously staring at Ra-Eun. “I’ll come see you soon.”

***

“Argh, it’s so damn hot.”

Ra-Eun complained about the heat as soon as she came down from the stage. Shin Yu-Bin giggled at the phrase that sounded like what an old man would say, unbecoming of Ra-Eun’s looks.

“Let’s get you out of those clothes and then I’ll take you home. Should I get Ha-Yeon for you?”

Ra-Eun was wearing a dress that was hard to take off by oneself, so it would be nice to get a stylist to help.

“No. I can change by myself,” Ra-Eun refused Yu-Bin’s consideration and went a step further. “You can wait for me in the car, Miss Manager. Don’t worry about me.”

Ra-Eun was obviously trying to be left by herself, which Yu-Bin found rather strange.

“You told us that you think you have a stalker. It’s dangerous being left all alone, so no.”

Ra-Eun had expected Yu-Bin to respond that way.

“There are bodyguards all around the area. How could a stalker even get to the waiting room?”

Ra-Eun was telling Yu-Bin that was the case so she could go first without any worries. She was not lying, and Yu-Bin would need to start the car for them to leave right away. Yu-Bin nodded in reluctance and told Ra-Eun to stay in the waiting room until Ryu Ha-Yeon arrived.

Once she left, Ra-Eun returned to her waiting room. Instead of changing, she sat down on a chair as if waiting for someone.

“There are indeed bodyguards in the area, but they’re so shit that anyone could get through their defenses.”

Ra-Eun was certain that the stalker would come to the waiting room once she was left alone in here. The bodyguards were slacking off so much that they weren’t even checking the identities of people backstage. The stalker would definitely take advantage of that.

‘He’s probably observing from somewhere nearby while pretending to be a staff member.’

The stalker would act now that he had seen Ra-Eun enter her waiting room by herself. She focused on her hearing while leaning on her chair with arms crossed. After about three minutes, the door handle slowly turned.

Creak.

The corners of Ra-Eun’s mouth curled up simultaneously with the door opening.

***

The man changed into the staff member's clothes that he had prepared in the bathroom and looked around. He had memorized the entire layout of the building a week before the Shuttered?event. The waiting room was furthest down the hallway, so it would take time for anyone to reach it even if a problem were to occur, and this was exactly what the man had been aiming for.

He stuck his body to the wall and watched as Ra-Eun and Yu-Bin were talking. Yu-Bin nodded and walked to the parking lot by herself, while Ra-Eun went to her waiting room alone.

The man smiled shrewdly without realizing it.

‘Things are going in my favor.’

The man had never expected things to go according to plan this well. He had checked a few minutes ago that no one was in Ra-Eun’s waiting room. He fixed his horn-rimmed glasses with no lens and tailed Ra-Eun. Only after checking Ra-Eun entering the room with his own eyes did he take off the glasses. He looked around and then grabbed the door handle.

‘It’s unlocked.’

All sorts of thoughts flashed in his mind. It was finally time to make Kang Ra-Eun, who was revered and loved by all, his. He was willing to receive any sort of punishment if it meant that he could make Ra-Eun his. He opened the door while thinking he would taint every single inch of her body.

“...!”

However, the man was bewildered once he opened it. Ra-Eun had been sitting right in the middle of the waiting room with one leg over the other, watching him enter the room. Her eyes looked as if she had already known that he would be coming.

The man did his best to hide his bewilderment.

“O-Oh, you were inside, M-Miss Kang? I’m sorry, I-I didn’t know,” he clumsily stuttered on purpose to act like a staff member. n0vεlusB.c0m

However, his performance had not been good enough to fool the professional actress Kang Ra-Eun. She got up from her seat, walked toward the man and then she suddenly raised her right leg.

Slam!

Ra-Eun forcibly closed the door shut with her leg and smiled.

She then remarked, “Entering is one thing, but you can’t leave as you like.”

“...!”

The man’s expression suddenly changed. He pounced at Ra-Eun.

“No, you don’t.”

She jumped backward to gain some distance from the man. Her steps were extremely light despite having high heels on, which the man also found to be very lovely.

He said while drooling, “Just wait a little longer. I’ll make you moan under me soon enough.”

“The fuck? What a crazy son of a bitch.”

The man pounced at Ra-Eun again. Ra-Eun could tell from his amateurish charge that the man had not learned any martial arts. There was no way she would get caught by such an attack. She slightly turned to the left and kicked the man on his groin.

Wham—!

“Kurgh!”

Extreme pain shot throughout the man’s body. It hurt enough just getting hit in the area, so the pain would be amplified beyond imagination since he was kicked with the end of a high heel. Ra-Eun was impressed as the man stood back up while gritting his teeth.

“You should’ve used that mental fortitude of yours for something more worthwhile. Why waste your energy on stalking?” she mocked.

The man went mad because of Ra-Eun’s mockery. He pulled out a box cutter from his bag and pointed it at her.

“I won’t damage your face, so don’t worry. Kekek.”

Even if one was a martial arts master, they must never let their guard down if the opponent was holding a weapon. A single misjudgment could lead to serious consequences. Ra-Eun was done playing around. She also decided to display her true abilities.

Fwish! Fwoosh!

Ra-Eun watched as the man randomly swung the box cutter around. As she was observing him, she suddenly picked up a small handbag on the ground. She grabbed the straps and got into a stance as if she was about to use it like nunchucks.

‘At this distance...!’

Ra-Eun swung the handbag. He was momentarily bewildered as the handbag flew right at his face. She used that opportunity to grab the wrist of the man’s hand holding the box cutter.

Crack!

However, it was not enough. Men possessed a fatal weakness, the scrotum. Ra-Eun had used this weakness back when she neutralized a bunch of school bullies in her high school days. She once again kicked him in the balls with her left leg.

“...!!!”

The man was in so much pain that he couldn’t even scream. As the man stumbled, Yeong-Jun and Lim Seok-Jun, who had been staking out behind the curtain, quickly pinned him down to the ground. However, Seok-Jun softly sighed after checking the man’s condition.

“He passed out, Chairwoman.”

“Really? I guess I kicked him a bit too hard.”

Ra-Eun had failed to control her strength.

***

Ra-Eun got a text from Yeong-Jun on her way back to Seoul. It contained detailed information about the man who had stalked her. His name was Choi Woo-Yeong, a thirty-one-year-old unemployed man. After she read through the text, she called Yeong-Jun to speak to him quietly so that Yu-Bin and Ha-Yeon sitting in front of her couldn’t hear.

- Hello?

“Does he have any relation to Congressman Kim?”

- No. We interrogated him, and they’re completely unrelated. He confessed on his own that he stalked you simply because he liked you.

“...Really?”

He had just been a stalker that was far too obsessed with Ra-Eun.

- What should we do with him?

The problem was how to clean up this mess.

“Hand him over to the police. Let them know that I have absolutely no intention to settle.”

Even if he had no relation to Kim Han-Gyo, he would not be able to escape punishment. Should she be merciful since she’s a celebrity? Ra-Eun had no such thing as mercy. It was preposterous to expect such a thing from her, whose sole goal in life was revenge. She would always pay what was given to her in folds.

Ra-Eun hung up after Yeong-Jun complied.

‘Nothing to do with Kim Han-Gyo, huh?’

She was both relieved and disappointed at the same time.

‘It was the perfect opportunity to extract information about that son of a bitch.’

However, she decided not to be too disappointed. After all, there were plenty more opportunities.
