Cyclo, stunned, looks over and over at the guild card.

It was definitely black, and the name Cyclo Owen was engraved on it.

“Hey, as expected, isn’t it bad for a newly registered adventurer to be ranked SSS?”

“Don’t worry. A feat like coming back from the depths of the Deep Hole alone, even an S or SS rank is not enough. This is a legitimate evaluation of what you have accomplished.”

“I see, that’s all right then ……”

Cyclo stares at his guild card, not really feeling it.

As one would expect, being told that you are a legendary adventurer today is not something you would immediately recognize.

“But that’s not the point. That guild card has not yet registered your personal information. So, that guild card does not have any function as a guild card. Naturally, you can’t use the account either.”

“Oh, I understand. I just have to register it, right?”

“I’m glad you understand so quickly. I’ll measure your “status” and put the information on the guild card. Then the card will be activated and the account will be available for use.”

The word “status” made Cyclo slightly excited.

Status is a system used by the Adventurers’ Guild to quantify and display an individual’s abilities.

The Adventurers’ Guild uses this system to evaluate and rank adventurers more strictly.

This status system is also a source of enjoyment for adventurers.

How strong have I become? The more monsters you defeat, the more your status rises.

Many adventurers look forward to their statuses growing, because they can feel their numbers increasing in this way.

Cyclo, too, had a longing for the status system, despite his former status as a baggage carrier.

He was also curious how much he had grown.

“All right, then, let’s get on with it and measure my status!”

At Cyclo’s request, the guild master nodded and gestured toward to the guild employee. The guild employee then brought in a large magical tool.

“Your status is probably quite high. The guild’s permanent status measuring device probably won’t be able to measure it. So, I’m going to use the most powerful status measuring device in the guild.”

“Wow, so this big thing is a measuring device too.”

Then, Cyclo alternately looks at the large magical equipment and the magical equipment in the corner of the guild.

The magic tool in the corner is a common status measuring device. It is activated when a copper coin is inserted, the guild card is inserted, and the measurement begins when the bar is held. It displays the status and also inscribes the information on the guild card.

“Now insert your guild card and hold the bar.”

“All right. So it works the same way.”

Cyclo did as the guild master asked, inserting his guild card into the large status measuring device and squeezing the bar.

Then, the status measuring device immediately starts working – just waiting for a few seconds, and it displayed Cyclo’s status.

“This is …… hmmm, a number worthy of the SSS rank.”

The guild master checks Cyclo’s status and mutters.

“Hey, how great is this?”

“Let’s see. For example, only a small percentage of S-rank adventurers reach S status. Only those who are good at what they do reach S, and the rest are usually A or B. You, however …… all of your abilities are above S. Every ability is beyond even the highest of S-rank adventurers.”

“That’s quite outrageous.”

Finally, Cyclo understood how out of standard his status was.

“Well then — Cyclo. Now you have completed your registration at the Adventurers’ Guild. Since your account has been opened, I’ll transfer the rest of the proceeds from the sale to your account here later.”

“Yes, please.”

“And …… from here on out, it’s going to be something of a request from me.”

Cyclo’s eyes narrow at what the guild master said. Cyclo was wary of what kind of demands he would make.

But the guild master’s words were not that alarming.

“The truth is, when I reported to the feudal lord about you, he showed interest. So, if it is possible …… I would like you to meet with the feudal lord.”

“–What? With the feudal lord?”

“Yes. He would like to hear various things from you, who has returned alone from the depths of the Deep Hole.”

Cyclo thinks about it. What are the advantages and disadvantages of meeting with the feudal lord?

The first disadvantage is the possibility that the feudal lord may try to forcefully take up Cyclo as his own subordinate.

However, in such a case, Cyclo’s abilities will allow him to escape as much as he wants.

In fact, if the feudal lord is wary of Cyclo’s power, they will not be able to make any unreasonable demands.

And the advantages are – I can think of any number of them.

By meeting with the feudal lord, Cyclo would be able to establish ties with people in power.

If so, it could be used for Cyclo’s immediate goal …… to take revenge against those who betrayed and cornered Cyclo.

Even if not, it would be very great to have a connection with the feudal lord.

After considering the advantages and disadvantages in this way, Cyclo decided that the advantages were greater.

“–Okay, fine. I can just meet and talk with the feudal lord, right? It’s not a bad idea for me either.”

“I see, I’m glad you said that.”

Thus, the meeting with the feudal lord was decided.

And with this meeting, Cyclo’s destiny takes an even bigger turn.
