Possession (9)

“…”

For an instant, silence fell in the auditorium. When I raised my head, I frowned. Seowoo, who met my gaze, smiled and tightened his grip on my arm. Due to the obvious size difference, my thin body got engulfed by Seowoo. I could feel my pride crumble.

“You…”

“Are you going to speak informally now?”

“…”

Did that matter now?

I glared at Seowoo as I was put in a weird position. It seemed that they asked me without knowing each other’s intentions… They seemed to have an excellent ability in listening to people.

How was this supposed to be sweet? No matter how much I thought about it, Yoo Seowoo’s key personality described in the ‘Ending Like This’ description was wrong.

“Stop talking nonsense.”

After speaking informally, I stared at Seowoo’s arms, which were slung around me. At first glance, he didn’t seem to have any intention of letting me go.

“Let go.”

When I said it while crossing my arms, Seowoo, who gently released me, raised his hand in a surrender position and showed a harmless smile. Before I could even get angry, I chewed on my lips. It was unlucky to get into a small argument with him. This wasn’t a situation I wanted to get in the first place, yet all eyes were on me. In this situation, you have to watch your mouth because if you make a mistake, they’ll probably whisper, “What did he say to the Four Great Heavenly Kings?”

I already got unwanted attention from the class test. I don’t want to draw any more attention, so I held back my complaints. Before I knew it, Hamin and Seowoo were arguing with each other and exchanged glances.

Why were they doing this to me? You’re doing this to the wrong person.

Like everyone else, I saw Dawoon look at me, so I swallowed words that I would spit out.

As I wondered why this would happen to me after leaving the female lead alone, a hypothesis suddenly flashed in my head. I looked at Dawoon and Hamin alternately. Then, as Hamin looked at Seowoo, an image of Dawoon looking at Hamin came to mind.

Ah…

It was only then when I let out a small sigh. It was because I thought about the probability of the ridiculous situation where the male lead would ask the sub-male lead to become his partner.

I should probably form the stepping stones for Dawoon to bump into Hamin.

Maybe Dawoon now thinks of him as the ruthless guy who harrasses her friend. So maybe one day, she could appear in front of Hamin and say, “Don’t bully my friend”, and then they can fall in love.

I let out a dry laugh. I can’t believe I’ve lost it. I couldn’t help but think about the development of the ceremony. You might be wondering what kind of development this is, but the Inso originally was like this.

The male lead, who has a crush on the extraordinary female lead, and the two people fall in love unexpectedly. Sometimes they fall in love at first sight, sometimes they fall in love when they kiss. Even female leads have a magical charm, so there’s a high probability that she can attract both men and women just by blinking her eyes.

Inso is a place where there’s outstanding beauty and personality. That’s why even my absurd hypothesis made sense.

Of course, there was a question since Hamin, the male protagonist, asked me to be his partner, but considering that I was the female lead’s childhood friend who’d get caught up in all sorts of incidents, it was understandable. Of course, that childhood friend was also the sub-male lead.

Yes, even Hamin’s unconventional behavior was somehow understandable. Just think of it as having to fulfill the role of ‘Male Protagonist One who approaches the female lead’s friend to get her attention’.

However, the other guy was different.

What is Yoo Seowoo, who is neither the actual male lead nor the main character’s friend, doing?

Even though Hamin was like that, Seowoo had no reason to do this. From the time we met this morning until now, I couldn’t possibly understand his intentions towards me. I looked at Seowoo with a complicated look and sighed over the psychological warfare between the two, which was still not over.

For now, it was clear that my life is going to get messy.

I couldn’t even properly distance myself from Dawoon, and now I’m caught up between two of the Four Great Heavenly Kings. I scratched my neck, before opening my mouth to join the conversation because I just wanted to leave like a normal person.

“What is it?”

“What?”

What perfect timing.

The timing was stolen by Hamin. I opened my mouth again, before closing it.

Hamin glared at Seowoo, who had a mysterious smile.

“Don’t get all smug. Just spit it out.”

How direct.

It seemed that I’m in agreement with Hamin since I also couldn’t tell what Seowoo was thinking. The most fun part was watching the fight, so when I came to my senses, I realized I was watching the fight in the front row seat.

“What can I say?”

“Why is he your partner?”

“It’s not just him, it’s Sihyun.”

“Since when do you take someone else’s partner and pretend you were close to them?”

Since when was I your partner?

I thought it was just a simple argument, but this conversation was leading to a strange place. If you’re going to fight, fight amongst yourselves. Why am I in the middle of it?

Looking at the two with narrowed eyes, Seowoo’s hand touched mine. Suddenly, my hand was caught in his. The corners of his lips curved into a perfect arc.

“What do you mean, ‘pretending’?”

He spoke softly, as if I were close to him myself. Hamin’s eyebrows moved up.

“So you’re close now?”

“Well-”

Not really. I just wanted to stay unknown for the rest of my life.

“To be honest, you didn’t even know Sihyun’s name, Hamin. Why? Do you like the new class?”

His husky voice seemed to annoy Hamin. Hamin, who frowned at Seowoo’s words, snorted and took a step forward.

“What’s wrong with you, You Seowoo? You never touch what I touch first.”

“Sihyun’s not an object. And you’re mistaken, I was here before you.”

Right.
