Mob High School Student got Invited

“That’s it for today, class dismissed.”

“Stand, bow, Thank you very much.”

(TLN: For those who don’t know, this is kind of a thing in Japan that you stand up and thank your teacher at the end of the class)

Immediately after the class ended, I stood up.

I don’t think that it would happen but in the off chance that a miracle occurs and she somehow manages to convince herself that I am Kamishiro Kousei, I want to limit the contact I have with her as much as possible.

If there is nothing for her to get suspicious about around her then she can’t make her conclusion. Moreover, this is my normal routine so there’s nothing suspicious about my action at all!

“Bye Masato, see you tomorrow!”

“Yeah! You leave earlier than usual today huh!”

“Is that so? I am thinking about visiting a bookstore after this you see!”

“Nn? Speaking of which, the new issue of that comes out today right! I have to go to my club activities so I can’t buy it today……!”

That’s right, unlike me, Masato joined a club. I don’t really know what kind of club it is but he talked about playing shogi and chess there so it must be some kind of cultural club.

……if Masato belonged to a soccer club then we might not even become friends huh. After all, people at the sports clubs often eat their lunch together.

Although I spent a little time talking with Masato, nothing eventful happened and I immediately left the classroom afterward.

No one paid attention to me on my way out to the doorway. It made me think that words like Mediocre, peaceful, and uneventful were invented to describe my school life.

As I talked with Masato earlier, a new volume of a novel is coming out today.

Maybe it already came out yesterday but since it is routine for me to always check for such release dates, I have been looking forward to checking it out since I bought the bento yesterday.

Slightly excited, I took out my shoes from the locker and about to leave the school when suddenly, a clear bell-like voice called out to me from behind.

“Hiura Seiya-san, are you heading home?”

“No, I was about to go home myself so……shall we walk home together?”

FUUUUUUUU……..Take a deep breath……..I can’t calm down! WHY!? WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR CLUB ACTIVITIES!…..AAHHH! She doesn’t have one! She’s the same go-home club’s member like me!”

Personally, I don’t mind walking home together with her. Rather, going home with a beautiful girl like her would be more than welcome.

But the Mob’s Soul within me is screaming out in protest!

There are two choices for me here. Accept her invitation or reject it. Alright, let’s see what would happen if I accepted.

The set condition in this scenario is that we would be seen together somewhere. The mall I will be going to today is a place that a lot of people visit after school. It would be more unrealistic if no one will see us there.

“Hey…..is it that guy? The one that went home together with Eihashi-san yesterday?”

“Hmm, who the heck is he…….did he threaten her to go home with him or something?”

“Oi Oi…….didn’t we agree that we wouldn’t forcefully invite her out…….”

I can’t see any future beside the one that I am being chased down by her fans, believers, or personal guards……….this is impossible. I have no choice but to turn her down here.

………that being said, what would happen if I turn her down.

“Hey…..it’s that guy, right? The one that refused to go home with Eihashi-san yesterday……”

“Just who does he think he is…….wasting Eihashi-san’s kindness like that……..what’s he trying to pull here?”

“He probably thinks that he’s a big shot that can continue living after he embarrassed a cute girl huh?”

Going home with her is out of the question! And refusing is also out of the question! If I refuse, they will kill me because I embarrass her, and if I accept I will be killed because of their jealousy.

In other words, I have to accept her invitation but not actually going home with her huh? Just what kind of puzzle game is this…….

…..Mm? Come to think of it, today I have to……….that’s it…….! With this, I don’t have to go home with her in the first place right!

I have a legit reason, I have to visit the bookstore today and Eihashi-san already did her shopping yesterday! She won’t come with me since there is no reason for her to do it. My reason is legit after all.

“Today, I’m planning to buy a book at the mall on my way back so I will take a different route home so…….since it will be a detour, I think it will be quite late. So please invite me again next time.”

Yes! This is downright PERFECT! Out of 100 points, my answer would get 120! Reluctantly refuse her and give her a legit reason so that she doesn’t trouble herself with me! A perfect gentleman’s answer! There is no hole in my answer…..!

“Perfect. I also have something that I want to buy too.”

My secret move was immediately destroyed.

“Eh, but yesterday……!?”

“Yesterday? DID SOMETHING HAPPEN YESTERDAY!?”

“Y, Yesterday I was looking at the bookstore to see if any place sells the book that is supposed to come out today early, you see. I am looking forward to reading it so let’s go!”

I never thought that there would be such a huge flaw in my plan. I never thought that Eihashi-san has business at the bookstore today as well.

And Eihashi-san reacted excessively the moment I almost asked her [Didn’t you already buy the ink yesterday?] too.

Even though I succeeded in misleading her, she might still think that Kamishiro Kousei is still nearby after all.

She will think of me as a guy that looks forward to a new book so much that he looks for it even before the release date but let’s treat that as a necessary sacrifice.

“Yes. Ah, can I ask you one more thing?”

“What is it?”

“Are you Kamishiro Kousei?”

With that question, it is confirmed that she is suspicious of me but if that is her question then I also have an obvious answer for it.

“No, you have the wrong person.”
