Mob High School Student Meets Up

“Hmm, what time is it…..oh? I guess I’m a little early huh?”

On the day of the study session, I arrived at the library a little earlier and waited for everyone at the front entrance.

No, that’s a little wrong. In fact, since I always head to school early in the morning, I don’t know how to gauge the time and I ended up arriving early like I usually do.

By the way, even if it is a holiday, I haven’t swept my hair to the side since I am meeting with my acquaintances from school today.

I basically only have the clothes I wear at my photoshoot so my clothes and hairstyle are very mismatched but I feel like I would lose if I accept that.

At my agency, the model gets to keep the clothes they used at the photoshoot.

I think that they are probably expecting the models to advertise it by having us wearing it as plainclothes but right now the mismatch feeling I gave off might prove to be counterproductive instead.

“If I stand here like this it would stand out too much huh…..oh?”

“Yo, Seiya! Early as always huh! I thought that I’m the first one here you know.”

“Yo, Masato. You are quite early yourself right?”

I thought that I would end up standing out if I stood around at the entrance without going in but when I was about to find a place to sit down, I saw Masato coming through the gate.

It is still earlier than the time we promised to meet up. Masato’s clothes are…..somehow, how do I say this, they look like they belong to an old man instead of a teenager and it is so out of place……..I am in no place to comment about how others dress though.

“Well, it’s true now that you mentioned it. I left my house early because I wanted to visit my grandma’s house you see. Well, when I left my grandma’s house, she told me that it’s hot today and handed me these clothes. We ended up chatting about a lot of things when I changed so I had to cut the conversation short or I might be late instead you know……..so, how did you end up so early anyway.”

I see, even though it is already summer, it is still a little cold in the morning. When he left his place, it wasn’t all that hot yet so he must have been wearing spring clothes.

It is already 11:30 so it’s already quite hot now. It’s not even noon yet so he made the right choice changing his clothes.

Masato casually said that he went to his grandmother’s place but actually his hometown is in the same prefecture as mine but his grandparents’ house is around here.

Reminder, Masato lives alone but he often visits his grandmother on holidays.

“I always go to school early so I can’t get a good sense of time you see……I was planning to arrive 10 minutes early but I ended up way earlier.”

“Somehow, even though Seiya always seems like you think a lot about something, you are quite a ditz huh……..rather than calling you dumb, it’s more like you are a natural airhead aren’t you?”

“Ugh…..I can’t deny it.”

I want to deny it but I can’t because of the recent events……mainly the ones with Eihashi-san…….

……maybe I am really an airhead even though I am not aware of it.

Rather, the thing that brought me to this study session in the first place was because I accidentally used Eihashi-san’s name when I was Kousei……yup, there’s no use thinking about it anymore, let’s just forget about it.

Well, ever since Ichinose-san started to help me, it seems that she’s not suspicious of me anymore. We ended up having more points of contact though.

“Ara? Everyone arrived already. You guys are so early!”

It seems that some time passed after I started talking with Masato and Ichinose-san arrived.

Ichinose-san’s clothes are……..let’s leave it at cute.

“Hello, Ichinose-san. This guy is Shiraki Masato, the guy that will join us today.”

“When I heard from Reika that Shiraki-kun will join us I was wondering who he is but he is the person that is always with you right, Hiura-kun!”

“I already know it but my presence was that thin!? And that’s not something that should be said in front of the person himself right! Even if you have to lie, can’t you put it more nicely!”

Hmm, I remember that Eihashi-san called Masato, Shiraki-san, when I asked her if he could join us today.

Maybe Eihashi-san remembered the name of everyone in our class……….I thought that she is amazing but I realized that also remember the names of most people in my class too.

In a university, it might be impossible because you have to change the classroom and your seat all the time but up to highschool remembering the name of the people in your class easily doable.

“…..this applies to Hiura-kun too but talking to a person you usually don’t talk to is unexpectedly fun isn’t it?”

“……even if you ask me that, I’m only troubled how to answer though. At least I and Masato don’t think that we are that interesting you know?”

The only one who would find someone like me interesting would be some wannabe extroverts.

But I do agree with Ichinose-san that Masato is an interesting guy. There are times when he’s unexpectedly sharp even though he always does things at his own pace too. Maybe he’s just quick on the uptake though.

“Well, it is really fun when I make a joke and Masato plays the perfect straight man you know.”

“No, no, leaving me aside, even if he looks like this, Seiya is quite smart and his jokes are pretty funny you know? …….he can be quite an airhead sometimes though.”

“Hey, you don’t need to add the last part! I could hear it just fine you know!? I’m not some hearing-impaired protagonist that just let that slip alright!”

“Fufufu, AHaHaHa! You are both funny.”

When I was having a back and forth with Masato, Ichinose-san said that and started laughing like she can’t hold it in anymore.

“Well, even if you think so, I don’t know how others think…….right?”

“Don’t [right?] me! Even if you and I are funny together, unlike you, I joined a club okay! I do have other friends okay?”

“AHaHaHa! At least, you two are way more interesting than other guys who tried to impress Reika you know.”

“Should I be happy with that……….?”

To be honest, I don’t know anyone who tries to be more interesting to impress Eihashi-san so I don’t know if I should be happy with that praise.

Well, we are only acting like our natural selves. We are not like the people who try to be funny and get a cold shoulder treatment instead.

When I was thinking so, the last person finally arrived.

“Eh? I don’t think that it’s the time yet but am I the last to arrive?”

“Hello, Eihashi-san. We only arrived early.”

“Oh, don’t misunderstand okay, Eihashi-san? I came early because I went to visit my grandma before I came here but this guy just came here way early by himself you know?”

“Good morning Reika! I’ve just arrived too you know!”

I certainly was early but I can’t help it since I rarely meet up with friends.

Eh? When was the last time I went out with someone?…….no, it’s alright. I went out during the golden week. With my sister that is.

“Well, since everyone is here, let’s get inside.”

“Right! They have air conditioners inside after all!”

“Yes, it seems that today will be especially hot so I’m glad that we chose a place with air conditioners.”

While having such a conversation, we entered the library.

I never cut corners in my study but I’m sure that this study session will help me. Let’s take advantage of this opportunity to the fullest then.
