Akechi Hideyori’s Path

The next day, I parted ways with Risa who is in a different class and headed to my classroom together with Emi and Takeru.

As I walked to the classroom while I was chatting with the two, someone called out to me.

“Ah, Good morning! Akechi-san!”

“Good morning Miyamura-san.”

Eien-chan greeted me.

Recently, Eien-chan has been saying hello to me each morning. To be honest, this might make me fall for her even more.

I might even confess to her if I hadn’t known that she’s a heroine that will eventually start dating Takeru. That’s how nice she is to me lately.

While I watched Takeru and Emi returning the greeting, one thought came to me.

After all, I’m such a big fan of Eien-chan that I bought her Drama CD to listen to when I go to sleep in my previous life.

I really like her…….

………..but the girl who gave me pillow talk in my previous life is destined to be with this man in front of me……..

My feelings are beyond complicated here.

The pillow talk drama CD had lines like.

Sh*t……Imagine Takeru naked almost made me want to jump out the window………

Rather,  Eien-chan really treated me like garbage in the drama CD didn’t she.

“…………”

“What’s wrong Hideyori? Why are you staring at me?”

“Nothi~~ng.”

How is this fair…….?

I’m so bitter that I was reborn as the scumbag Akechi Hideyori.

“Fufufu, Your expressions are so colorful, Akechi-san. How cute.”

“That’s right. He normally puts on air but inside Hideyori-kun is very cute you know.”

Eien-chan heads inside the classroom while chatting with Emi.

…….they’re leaving me out. Maybe she’s already begun to hate me huh.

“It’s alright Hideyori! You always have me!”

“Y, Yeah.”

“Still, we have a quiz in our first class today right. I didn’t study at all though.”

“You said that but you actually studied your ass off right.”

“Hehe, nothing gets by you huh.”

Entering the classroom, the two of us started studying for the quiz.

Eien-chan was facing Emi with her own notebook. They seem to get along well.

Seeing them on good terms like that, a wave of relief washed over me.

“By the way, what do you want to be in the future, Hideyori?”

While we were studying for the quiz, Takeru suddenly brought up the topic of our future career paths.

I don’t even know if I can live until high school graduation so I got the urge to yell [The hell are you asking!?] but I hold it down.

“I don’t have any aspirations at the moment but I think I want to learn more about Gifts in the future.”

“Gifts huh, I see. So you are going to aim for the Gift Academy right.”

“Well, yeah.”

There’s a rule in this world that Gift Holders like me and Takeru have to pursue their study in a Gift-related facility.

In other words, this is not the case where [Hey, if I just don’t attend the school where the game’s story takes place then everything would be fine right?] is an option.

Moreover, I don’t know when exactly it will take place but during middle school, there will be a thing called [Gift Attitude Test].

Because of that, even Takeru who isn’t aware that he himself is a Gift Holder at the moment will be forced to learn more about Gifts in the future.

And the school that we Gift Holders will definitely be sent to as well as the stage of the [Breaking the Chain of Sadness] series is the [5th Gift Academy].

…………..things will surely change a lot.

By the way, there will be many Gift Holders like Takeru who will be forced into the Gift Academy because of the aptitude test and most of them will be like [But I don’t even know what my Gift is.]

For example, it’s not a rare case for a child who’s good at math from childhood to actually have a Gift of [Instantly deriving the answer of calculations up to 3 digits.]

In Takeru’s case, since he has no Gift Holders around him, it’s kind of inevitable that he would have no idea that he possesses the power to cancel out Gifts’ effect.

I didn’t tell Takeru about my power, he’s unaware that I am a Gift Holder after all. (I mean, no one actually knows that I have a Gift besides Emi, Tsugaru, and Master and I even lied to Emi about its true nature).

Every time I wonder if I should tell Takeru about my Gift, I would always decide against it.

“Are you planning to work in a Gift-related company in the future?”

“No, not really. I’m just thinking that I should find the annoying god that kept randomly giving people Gifts and murder her with my own hands.”

“D, Don’t suddenly say something crazy, man……..”

This extraordinary power called Gift is given to us by a god.

The whimsical god that gave both me and Takeru Gifts.

The mastermind behind everything in the [Breaking the Chain of Sadness] series as well as its last boss.

“What about you Takeru? You already have something in mind?”

“Nah, it’s still up in the air for me.”

Takeru turned red and shyly averted his eyes.

“I just, want to go to the same school and get the same job as you, Hideyori……… D, Do you think it’s weird……?”

“Hmm, that might be fun.”

When I said that, Takeru’s face turned even redder and he held my hands.

“!?, Right! It’s going to be fun! We are best friends after all! I want to stay with you forever!”

“S, Sure. I never knew you are this passionate about our friendship though.”

“Let’s be happy together!”

“Well, I guess we will.”

I also value the relationship where we can fool around with each other like this.

Rather, he said that to a fellow man with such a bare face huh.

………….still, why did Takeru parody the lines that were supposed to be used to confess his love to a heroine on me though.

Does he really want to have fun with me that much?

In the original work, Hideyori would betray Takeru in almost every route.

Even after he knows how much of a scumbag Hideyori is or how much the heroines hate him, he would consider Hideyori the [only best friend he will ever have] and even comes to visit his grave.

That feeling of his never changed even in the route where he killed Hideyori with his own hands like in Risa’s route.

Moreover, his friendship was never rewarded.

That’s why even with what little I can do, I want to help him as much as possible.

“Hehe, now you’re committed. We’ll be together for the rest of our lives, Hideyori!”

It’s strange that Takeru’s androgynous face seems more feminine to me sometimes.

The last boss won’t show up in a long long while though…….
