Ennoia
Today’s the last day of Golden Week.
It’s the day I scheduled with Tsugaru Madoka to hold our strategy meeting.
.
I’m so tired of this…….
I want to just live a carefree life, I don’t even want to go to school……….
.
It’s already a struggle to get out of bed. I know it’s time to wake up but I still want to stay in.
.
I will obediently get up if Oba-san or Emi comes to wake me up though.
Somebody help me get out of bed.
.
When I deliberately kept my eyes shut while considering whether I should get up or not, I heard a faint sound nearby.
.
.
Flap……, Flap…….
.
.
What’s that?
It sounds like someone’s flipping through a book’s pages.
.
.
Flap……, Flap…….
.
.
It was soothing so I want to keep sleeping even longer.
Where did it come from anyway?
In my fading consciousness, I forced myself to open my eyes.
.
.
.
[[KuHaHaHa, I see, I see……..]]
.
.
A white-haired, brown-skinned little girl was sitting next to my bed, flipping through the pages of a notebook.
………..
……
.
.
“Woah!? C, Concept-san!?”
[[It’s Ennoia, Fool.]]
“Gah……”
.
.
She hand-chopped my head.
She’s so cruel……..
Making me taste violence right after I wake up is just too much right…….
.
For some reason, the game’s last boss.
The arrogant, loli-hag goddess, Ennoia was sitting in my room.
Even if she’s a god, she’s just doing whatever she wants, isn’t she…….
.
.
“Rather, what are you reading? I only scribbled some dirty jokes in my phys ed notebook you know……”
[[This.]]
“…..!?”
.
.
My sleepiness was blown away in an instant.
After all, what she’s reading was the notebook I wrote everything I remember about [Breaking the Chain of Sadness] when I first recalled my previous life.
.
.
To hide it, I put it in a safe inside my closet which required a key and input of 3 sets of passwords to unlock.
Inside the safe, I also stuck the notebook inside Sawamura Yama’s swimsuit issue magazine.
As for where I kept the key to the safe, the drawer of my work desk has a double bottom and you have to insert the lead inside a ballpoint pen through the tiny hole on the bottom side to lift up the fake base (It was installed in a way that if you do not follow that specific opening method with the lead core, an electric current will flow through the circuit, igniting the gasoline in the container, burning the entire desk.)
Taking out this notebook requires you to follow that over-the-top procedure.
Even my aunt never discovered this secret compartment and this god just went ahead and did it…….
.
.
[[Still, the fact that the first password was [0721] was a little of a letdown you know. Also, the second and the first passwords being [1225] the birthday of your woman in your previous life and [0303] your little sister’s birthday, was too simple too.]]
“…………..”
[[Don’t glare at me like that, Akechi Hideyori. I have no intention of burning, ripping, stealing, copying, or altering that notebook of yours you know. KuHaHa.]]
.
.
With a mocking tone, Ennoia said to and finished reading the final page.
.
[[ [Breaking the Chain of Sadness] huh…….. In the end, Ennoia, the source of all Gifts, was killed, and the existence of Gifts was erased. Juumonji Takeru gets together with Yoru Hiru and it’s happily ever after……… I see, I see, so this is what will happen in three years huh]]
.
.
She snapped the notebook shut.
She then tossed it at me like a shuriken.
I received it and looked it over. It still looks fine.
The notebook wasn’t damaged or altered.
The contents are still in my handwriting.
.
.
[[That notebook is something that shouldn’t exist. As a God, I can not overlook this.]]
“Hmph, what god…….? You just have too much free time so you arrogantly give humans Gifts so you can enjoy the show from your ivory tower right.”
[[KuHah. I just tried to sound like a God for once. What, you hate this kind of joke?]]
“Even if I like the joke, I’d hate it when I’m the joke. You said that you have no intention to burn, rip, steal, copy, or alter this notebook didn’t you?”
[[Right, I did say that. Very well, I will overlook that notebook then.]]
.
.
I hurriedly tucked the notebook inside my blanket.
I don’t want it to be Ennoia’s sight even a second longer.
.
.
[[Hey, Akechi Hideyori.]]
“What.”
.
.
In place of the notebook she already tossed me, Ennoia took out the Sawamura Yama magazine I used to hide it.
Looking curious, Ennoia started flipping through the magazine.
She seems completely relaxed as she swings her legs while reading the magazine in a good mood.
.
.
[[What’s the happy end in a story like this?]]
“Ha?”
[[C’mon, tell God what you think.]]
.
.
It’s a Galge’s happy end so the protagonist and the heroine would overcome their obstacles together!
Then they flirt!
Epilogue!
End Credit!
Title Screen!
.
That’s how it normally goes.
But Ennoia isn’t asking me about a Galge’s ending in general but the ending of [Breaking the Chain of Sadness].
.
.
“We, Well, with Gifts, the symbol of hatred gone, the protag–……”
[[No. I don’t want that textbook answer.]]
“Then what do you want me to say?”
.
.
Ennoia put down the magazine and faces me.
She then opens her mouth and put her small right hand on her chest.
.
.
[[Killing Ennoia the God to achieve a happy end? Don’t be ridiculous.]]
“……Ha?”
[[WHY, DO I! THIS GOD! HAVE TO DIE? I won’t go along with this Happy End okay.]]
.
.
Unlike usual, Ennoia’s gaze turned stern.
I mean, that’s a given since Ennoia is the last boss of the game right…….
.
.
“You’re the one who’s handing out Gifts left and right, right!?”
[[A God who gives power to troubled people is the villain? That just doesn’t make right.]]
“In the first place, you’ve only been laughing at people whose lives got plunged into chaos by Gifts and it’s not like you have any intention of saving or helping them isn’t it.”
[[But was it not because of me that you managed to escape your uncle’s abuse, Akechi Hideyori?]]
“…………”
.
.
I can’t argue when she puts it like that.
.
.
[[This God simply bestows the people with the power to grant their wishes. Has God really done something so wrong?
After that, God simply wants to observe how the people God bestowed power to live their lives. That’s all God’s done.
Humans have their plays, anime, and games too, do they not?
Just like how humans enjoy those things, God also sees the lives they lead as a form of entertainment. God requires something to entertain themselves too, that’s all.
Is it so evil that a god who exists as a concept also seeks entertainment?]]
“………..”
.
.
There’s obviously going to be something that a god and a human can not understand each other on.
.
.
[[Even God do not want to die you know.]]
.
.
Ennoia certainly looked pitiful when she was beaten by Takeru and Yoru. Even after she begged for her life, she was still pierced in the heart by Yoru and died.
Void of her usual arrogance, her pathetic plea for life as she kept repeating [I don’t want to die] while clinging to the protagonist was even made fun of by the players.
.
.
I can understand why Ennoia would be upset at this ending.
.
.
[[Besides, Akechi Hideyori and Sasaki Emi would always end up dead. Even you shouldn’t be satisfied with this kind of Happy End right!]]
“Ahh….., you’re bringing that up huh……”
[[You are destined to die at the hand of either Juumoni Takeru, Yoru Hiru, Fukamori Mitsuki, or Seki Shou are you not?]]
“A, Ahaha…….”
.
.
Yup.
I agree that I do not want the original Happy End either.
I always consult the notebook on the original development of the game so that I can avoid dying after all.
.
.
[[Hey, Akechi Hideyori.]]
“Nn?”
[[You, won’t you become God?]]
“……….Ha?”
.
.
All of a sudden, with the same energy as [You wanna hang out?] I was asked to become a god.
Obviously, my mind goes blank.
TLN: Akechi Hideyori, God of Denseness, Originator of Blackhole…….
