Ennoia Eliminates

Ennoia panicked.

After living through a lonely and boring unchanging eternity, Ennoia has evolved as a god to the point where she can bestow people with Gifts.

For Ennoia, humanity was like NPCs in open-world games.

And the world is a sandbox inhabited by those NPCs.

However, she can not interact with them.

Even when the people in that sandbox got all excited after they managed to craft pottery and manipulate fire, it was all so boring to her.

After watching over a low-level civilization for thousands of years, life was hell itself.

However, humanity has begun to change.

In just about a thousand years, they have built ships, planes, and telephones.

Ennoia enjoyed it every time humanity surpassed her expectations.

But for a god like Ennoia, such enjoyment only lasts for a brief moment.

When flying in planes became common, its novelty was gone and the world has become boring for her again.

To watch over the play she can not interact with in any way is pure boredom.

That’s why Ennoia decided to change humanity herself.

She evolved their bodies so that some of them are capable of using Gifts.

She made it so that only a few of them can use it simply to increase the rarity of Gifts and in tandem, increase their value.

After all, humans already differ in physical abilities, intelligence, and social status depending on their birth.

What she has done was simply addition of another difference.

Ennoia herself is a concept.

All she needed to do was to create the concept of Gifts in humans.

Ever since she gained the power to bestow Gifts upon humanity, the boring time that pained her existence until recently became a series of exciting events. She started to truly enjoy her existence as a god.

The world that was a play she could not interact with became a true open-world game that she can play herself.

With her never playing a game before, Ennoia became obsessed with bestowing people with the power that can change their lives.

Just like the humans’ games.

Comparing it to an RPG game, she can now input commands like, battle, escape, use an item, and the like.

The fun is in the fact that she can interact with her game characters.

Of course, there is also fun to be had in leaving it all to AI but she didn’t do it that way because that’s not her kind of fun.

Gifts that can fulfill love.

Gifts that can break lovers apart.

Gifts that can turn over someone’s life and make them a millionaire.

Gifts that cause people’s downfalls.

Gifts that cause people to become strong.

Gifts that take away people’s strength.

Observing the endless possibilities of human desires became Ennoia’s reason for being.

At this point, she can no longer stop herself from bestowing Gifts and returning to the boring life she had before.

It’s only been a mere few decades since she first bestowed Gifts to humans but she thinks it’s the greatest change in humanity as a whole within her 10,000 years of existence.

Day after day, her boredom was blown away by their ever-changing desires and she is having the time of her life.

However, now she knows that her free-spirited godly existence might vanish in just 3 years.

The feeling of fear she had long forgotten has come back.

That’s why she decided to nip it in the bud.

So, relying on the information from Akechi Hideyori’s notebook, she started moving to destroy the plot of [Breaking the Chain of Sadness].

In that notebook, there were things that only Ennoia could know and things that Akechi Hideyori would have no way of knowing such as future events and the like.

In particular, the fact that Ennoia’s existence is nothing more than an NPC in a game scenario written by some guy named Sakuya Matsuri has driven her into a corner.

As she exists as a god, she can not allow there to be a gamemaster that stands above her.

Ennoia is a concept.

And her rule must be absolute.

She can not stand the fact that her existence might possibly be nothing more than a joke in a fictional world written by some human called Sakura Matsuri.

Still, all that needed to be done is for her to mockingly destroy the scenario he wrote.

There were 13 heroines in the game called [Breaking the Chain of Sadness].

There are some she bestowed Gifts to such as Juumonji Risa, and Mishima Haruka.

There also seem to be some who do not possess a Gift such as Miyamura Towa as well.

Among the 13 heroines, the name [Richiho Aisa] caught her eye.

That key person in the final game, Ennoia in fact knows her very well.

She’s read the information on Richiho Aisa from Akechi Hideyori’s notebook, something that Akechi Hideyori should have no way of knowing since he’s never met her, was written in it.

And what he wrote was all correct, including the information that would be inconvenient to Ennoia.

That was her solution to destroy the scenario written by Sakura Matsuri.

However, she noticed that today’s Ennoia is different than usual.

Moving her short legs, Ennoia walks forward.

Puzzled by her behavior, Aisa watched as Ennoia approached her with a confused expression.

“Yes, what is it?”

[[God requires your heart.]]

“Eh…….Guh!?”

Ennoia’s right arm shot out and penetrated the left side of Richiho Aisa’s chest.

Ripping through her body, Ennoia now holds Aisa’s heart in her right hand.

“……..Gah.”

.

Aisa’s mouth was repeatedly open and close.

Even with her cute appearance, after being pierced through her chest, the word miserable would better suit her than cute right now.

With her eyes turned white, she vomits blood, and the red splatters on the floor.

That blood also dyed Ennoia’s hair red.

Ennoia teleports Aisa’s heart away and sits down on her bed.

Even though the owner of the room was lying on the floor covered in blood, the bed was so clean that no one would think that a tragedy just transpired in this room.

However, as Ennoia casually sits on the bed, the bed itself also got stained with blood.

The existence of the girl called Richiho Aisa was completely erased.

Except for Akechi Hideyori, no one would even be able to recall the name Richiho Aisa anymore.

It was her form of harassment to only let Akechi Hideyori be the only one who has the memory of her.

Ennoia starts to imbue the Gift to him.

Once she’s done, the Gift then dwells in his body.

And thus began a new story that deviated greatly from the original game scenario…….

Author Note: It’s a little late but now we have a big deviation from the game’s story…..

This time the info dump is rather thick because we have Ennoia’s perspective.

Unexpectedly, there are not that many heroines left who have yet to appear.

That said, maybe I’ve already written too many…

I mean, adding more is fine but does Hideyori need to make that many people happy by himself…….?

Including characters like Emi and Madoka, the circle would be endless…….

Perhaps we’ve already got to the midpoint of the story.

Still, I dislike the trope where the characters who appeared first win and the ones from later in the story lose so I try to add many characters up front in the early stage and take it slow.

About Richiho Aisa-chan, she’s dead DEAD.

This might come as a surprise but there’s a reason why Ennoia killed off Aisa.

[What are you doing, killing a heroine like that?] I’m sure many will think that way but please rest assured Aisa-chan’s fans, as the story develops, she will have a proper salvation.

This sacrifice was logical.

Ennoia didn’t do this to spite Hideyori.

Since other heroines such as Risa and Haruka pose no threat to Ennoia, she has no reason to go after them at this stage.

That’s why Aisa must be the one to go.

Madoka talked about a pink-haired character here, it’s Aisa-chan.

The white-haired one is Ennoia.

Ennoia is the main antagonist of the game but just like Hideyori, she also has her fear of her eventual death according to the game’s story. Perhaps, she’s also kind of a protagonist……

Maybe the villain from the first game (Hideyori) and the last boss (Ennoia) will cooperate to crush the original story?

About Akechi Hideyoshi, father of Akechi Hideyori.

He knows Ennoia.

His crime may not be so simple.

Since the priority of this plot point is rather low, I don’t know when I will explore it.

The fact that Hideyori himself doesn’t care much about his real parents also made it difficult to bring up the topic.

Hideyori and Seiko’s parents are scheduled to appear in the extra chapters after the end of this volume so please look forward to that.

About the male student who received the [Know Past Life] Gift, Oda Ieyasu.

The name is already straightforward enough.

If you are a good guesser, you would know who he’s supposed to be immediately.

You are not wrong (lol)

The same as his Gift’s name, I want to give that kind of impression with his name.

There’s also the restriction that Gifts must be given in a way that will help fulfill the wish of the Gift Positives.

It is a condition for a god like Ennoia to intervene in the human world.

Her godly power would decrease if she goes against this rule.

I want to cut down the criminal who killed my brother —-> [Ice Blade]

Gifts are created in the form of special abilities that will help the Holders fulfill their desires.

That setting was established to some extent from when the entire story’s setting was still shaky.

People who Ennoia bestowed Gifts to = People she likes.

Because she wants to be entertained as a God, she prefers bestowing Gifts to handsome guys and beautiful women.

.

It’s completely random whether you are a Gift Positive or not.

It would be fine if you treat it like an allergy.

.

She knows that the balance will crumble if she makes too many high-ranking Gifts so she rarely creates S-rank ones.

On the contrary, E-rank (Trash-tier) is also rare because the number of desires that can be accomplished with that tier of ability is low.

C and D-ranks are easy to make.

Many of Hideyori’s acquaintances hold S to B-rank Gifts but there are also exceptions.
