I Was Admitted To The Villain School Chapter 14.1
Ding Miao had a very realistic dream.
Everyone in the town said that the people who were marked were the property of the Snow Maiden, and that she could kill you at any time if you were. As long as the Snow Maiden marked someone, she would catch them even if they fled to the ends of the earth.
Ding Miao knew it was true.
Her brother escaped and left this icy village, but she saw her brother again within three days. His body was left hanging at the door of the ice sculpture garden.
Since then, no one in the town dared to escape.
For the first three days, the marked person had a strange scent on his body—an unnamable, yet scary scent. People in the town said it was the smell of death.
Most of the people in the town had seen the Snow Maiden, and Ding Miao had seen her too, when the Snow Maiden had hung her brother’s body at the gate of the Ice Sculpture Garden. The Snow Maiden's long hair reached the ground, and she was wearing a red skirt. She seemed to be aware of Ding Miao’s existence and turned around slowly. The faceless monster looked directly at her.
The monster stared as if it* had grown eyes, and it made her feel cold everywhere.
Since that day, Snow Maiden had become a nightmarish existence to her. When she returned to her dreams at midnight, she always felt that the Snow Maiden was staring at her. Later, people in the village said that Snow Maiden liked to kill people in their dreams, dealing you the cruelest yet most elegant death blow. When people saw the Snow Maiden in their dreams, they were not far from death.
Ding Miao lived in fear, begging the Snow Maiden not to come to her.
On this night, she knew that she was dreaming—it was like reality, but also had dream-like qualities. She was in a familiar bedroom, expecting the Snow Maiden. But when she opened her eyes, she saw blood oozing from every piece of furniture in the room, gradually flowing into a pool and then rising rapidly. When it was about to submerge her mattress, she reacted and swam out to the door of the room.
However, when she pushed the door open, she saw the most traumatic scene in her life.
Her parents had their necks bitten off, and their heads rolled to her feet like basketballs. The culprit was wearing snow-white clothes and turned her head slowly. Her blood-red lips curled up into a grin.
Ding Miao was stunned.
It wasn't the Snow Maiden—it was the sweet-looking girl she met in the rescue center.
In the dark night, her facial features were exceptionally bright, as if illuminated by something divine; her eyelashes curled charmingly, and her almond-shaped eyes, as dark as an autumn lake, curved like a crescent moon in midsummer when she smiled. But her lips and teeth were bloodstained as she pressed a finger, which clearly had her mother's wedding ring on it, to the corner of her mouth
Such a dichotomic figure was even more terrifying than the faceless Snow Maiden.
She suddenly remembered what Lin Xinghe said at the rescue center today—
"Your town is a bit interesting. We were having a good time visiting the ice sculpture garden. The ice sculptures suddenly moved and seemed to want to attack us... But it's just a group of ice sculptures, nothing to be afraid of..."
"...I just set them on fire..."
As Ding Miao thought of this, Lin Xinghe, dressed in mourning clothes, delicately wrinkled her brow, and a flame leapt to the sky behind her, enveloping her whole body in the fire. She flew out of the house.
Ding Miao scrambled to the window and saw the Snow Maiden, whom she had not seen for a long time.
Lin Xinghe glowed, incandescent with fiery flames. She reached the Snow Maiden, who seemed to have no chance to react before being oneshotted by Lin Xinghe.
Lin Xinghe’s white dress was still unblemished by blood, and the fire behind her shone brightly. However, her bloodstained lips shattered this facade of holiness. She was like an angel who fell into the depths of Hell, full of good and evil.
Ding Miao went to work at the rescue center and found that everyone was ashen.
Everyone's nightmare was sitting in the cafeteria.
Lin Xinghe was eating breakfast slowly.
Opposite of her sat her other three companions.
Beside her sat a little girl, not the little girl brought back from the mountain that day, but a monster—five mouthed, red pupiled.
As if aware of Ding Miao's gaze, all five mouths smiled at her.
Ding Miao panicked.
Then, she saw Lin Xinghe stand up and walk straight in front of her.
Ding Miao was once again dominated by the fear of last night. Her view of Lin Xinghe was completely different from yesterday. Her lips were trembling in the fear that Lin Xinghe would swallow her in one gulp
"In ten minutes, I want to see your mayor, right here."
Ding Miao tremblingly asked her manager for instructions.
The manager contacted the mayor.
"Mayor, the fire… the Fire Maiden is here with us, and she wants to see you."
Five minutes later, Lin Xinghe met with the mayor, who had rushed over in a hurry.
The mayor of this icy village was a male named Jia Shiyi. He was not tall, only about 1.7 meters tall (5’7), but he was obviously not too young—he had already lost half of his hair. He stood in front of Lin Xinghe in awe.
Lin Xinghe said, "Mayor Jia, right? You have managed this town well, and I admire your talent. I am completely different from the Snow Maiden—she has no education, but I have learned about socialism. I am a civilized person, and I normally do not tolerate fighting or killing. I can't stand what Snow Maiden has done to this town, so I want to help out…”
TL Notes:
*The original novel did not specify the pronouns of the Snow Maiden, so when she's being referred to as a woman, her pronouns are she/her, and while it's being referred to as a monster, its pronouns are it/its.
