The group battle royale, the Maid Olympia qualifier, has begun. Each group will be filtered out twice, and it seemed like it will be a tournament with the addition of Super Maid and the Overall Top 8 Maids.
And Luna-san was overwhelmingly strong in the 2 groups she was assigned to.
“Whoa, First-Time Competitor Lunamaria shows great strength. She’s clearly head and shoulders above the rest in this group! From our Commentary, President Ein’s point of view, what do you think of Competitor Lunamaria?”
“She’s a good maid. She has only been a maid for less than 10 years, but even so, she has reached a Maid Power of over 50,000, which is probably due to her talent. She’s a maid with a promising future.”
It’s quite a unique battle royale, in which maids fight amongst themselves, but Luna-san is a former Top Adventurer. Adventurers, by their very nature, often work in small groups and are skilled at fighting against large numbers, so a battle like this would be right up Luna-san’s alley.
[She sure is overwhelming, isn’t she? Luna-san, I mean.]
[Yes, as far as I can see, there’s no one in the same group who can compete with Luna, so if she keeps her guard up, she should be able to qualify without any problems.]
Perhaps happy that her best friend is playing an active role in the event, Lilia-san had a slightly brighter expression on her face.
[……As expected of Lunamaria-san. Wonderful…… She possesses strength worthy to be called my rival. I too feel my blood boiling.]
[No, why the heck do you look like you’re long-time rivals…… You just met her for the first time earlier!]
While we were watching the game while talking about such things, Luna-san was successfully selected as one of the two representatives of each block and chosen to participate in the main competition.
I’m also happy to see Luna-san win the competition.
[……I can’t lose either. Well then, I’m heading to the waiting room too.]
[Ohh, well, you do reasonably well over there too.]
[Yes, allow me to show you my maid spirit!]
[……Nah, you go get defeated already. Better yet, why don’t we just go home?]
Frau-san, who seemed to be heated up after seeing Luna-san’s fight, stood up and resolutely headed to the waiting room.
The battle between Group 6 began a short while later, and I’m not sure if it’s to be expected of her, but Frau-san performed an active role in her battle.
[……What is that weapon Frau-san was using?]
[Hmmm, I don’t know much about it either. It looks like a Galient Sword, but I’m not really sure.]
(T/N: Galient Sword aka Snake/Whip Sword)
[It’s a weapon called Trick Sword. A sword made of a material that hardens when magic power is channeled through it, and could be a hidden weapon that can be worn like a ribbon without applying magic power into it.]
I was wondering why Frau-san was using a mysterious weapon that looked like a whip and yet cuts through its surroundings like a sword, and Lilia-san seemed to know what it was and gave us a light explanation.
[This is just a guess, but was Frau-san from Western Demon Realm?]
[Ahh~~ Speaking of which, I think Frau had mentioned something like that before. I heard she was from a tribe living in the desert.]
[The Trick Sword is mainly used by a species known as Bewitchers. However, I only heard about them from an acquaintance of mine a long time ago, so I’m not that familiar with them……]
Having that sort of tribal secret sounds kinda cool. It certainly looks like a pretty tricky weapon to use, but Frau-san, fighting with such a weapon, moves as if she’s in a ribbon performance in rhythmic gymnastics, defeating her rivals one after another.
Just like that, it was also decided that Frau-san would participate in the main competition without any problems.
“How do you feel about the battle in Group 6, President Ein?”
“Group 6’s current representative has made her appearance in the past and has shown us a good battle every time she has participated. Her Maid Power may have been at a middling level, but perhaps, having been a maid for a quite a long time, she has the skills that come from experience.”
While Ein-san makes such commentaries, Luna-san and Frau-san arrived in our spot once and before the main competition.
[Congratulations to the both of you for making it to the main competition.]
[Thank you very much. I’m very relieved to have made it to the main competition. Even though I had Milady and Miyama-sama come to support me, I wouldn’t look good if I couldn’t even make it past the qualifiers……]
[However, the matchups for Luna-san don’t look good…… No, well, that’s also the same case for me.]
Looking at the match-up table for the main competition, Frau-san muttered, which made everyone’s eyes gather on her.
[Is that so?]
[Yes, Lunamaria-san’s opponent is a talented competitor who won the 6th Place in all the tournaments and has a Maid Power of over 80,000. She’s going to have a tough fight.]
[I see, fighting against a superior opponent certainly would be rough…… What about you, Frau?]
[My first battle would be easy-peasy…… but after I win here, my second battle would be against Emily-sama. Fighting against a Super Maid in the second match is just……]
Incidentally, it seems that 28 people will be competing here in the main tournament, and each of the Super Maids will participate in seeded slots in the second round, so if you win a battle, you will be in the Top 16, and if you win twice, you will be in the Top 8, and will be exempt from the qualifiers for the next Maid Olympia.
The two would like to win at least twice, but Luna-san’s first-round match was against someone superior, while Frau-san’s second-round match would be against a Super Maid…… It seems like they would be having a tough battle.
<Afterword>
Serious-senpai : [I wonder why? Even though this should have been a Tournament Arc where I could expect battles…… Thinking about how these battles would be between maids, the surrealism wins out……]
