Chapter 66: Drama Shooting
I decided to accept the drama role after I returned home late from the gym that evening.
Considering my weekly allowance was 5,000 yen, I figured appearing in the drama would be beneficial.
After washing my face, I sat on the living room sofa and sent a message to Minato Naoyas ID.
Ill take the part-time job.
Sent.
Immediately, I received a reply, as if she had been waiting on her phone.
Great! Ill tell the director right away! Theres no changing your mind later, okay?
With this, there was no turning back.
Well, it was just a small role, so it shouldnt be too hard.
Hey, Yu-seong, here are some apples~
Yes~
I put my phone down on the table and went to the kitchen to eat the apples my mother had sliced.
Biting into an apple with a fork, I held a plate of apples in one hand and a shaker filled with a protein supplement in the other, returning to the living room sofa.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
The sound of messenger notifications was continuous.
Curious, I looked at the screen and saw a bunch of messages from Minato Naoya that had piled up in just a short time.
Senior, why arent you replying? Are you busy?
Im really interested in you, Senior, but it seems like youre not interested in me, which makes me sad.
Senior? Are you doing something else?
Senior? Youre not ignoring me after reading, are you?
Senior? Are you with a girl?
.
What was this? Was she always this impatient?
I tilted my head, bemused by her barrage of messages that had accumulated in less than 5 minutes, and replied.
I went to the kitchen for a moment because my mother called me.
She replied immediately.
Ah, I see. I almost misunderstood.
Maybe it was because she was young, but her response time was incredibly fast.
I still hadnt gotten used to the Japanese keyboard.
By the way, arent you busy being a celebrity?
Its my off time now. Being a celebrity doesnt mean I work every day.
After that reply, suddenly a photo was sent.
It was a photo of Minato Naoya in colorful pajamas, making a V sign with her fingers.
She probably sent it right away while using her smartphone in her room, as I could see pink wallpaper and a poster behind her.
Thats a Mr. Olympia poster. You like bodybuilders?
The moment I sent that message, I received a reply in almost a second.
Yes! I really like them!
Even though it was just an emotionless text, I could feel Minato Naoyas excitement through the phone.
It was certainly unusual for a high school girl to like muscular bodybuilders.
It felt even more niche than Rikas liking for shonen manga.
I like you I like you I like you
The more she thought about her seniors face, the more her affection overflowed.
She liked him so much that she instinctively didnt want anyone else to have him.
But it was still too early.
To her senior, she was just a junior who had only recently become known to him.
It would be better to approach him slowly, bit by bit.
After taking a deep breath to calm her heightened emotions, she returned to her usual quiet demeanor.
Revealing her feelings for her senior was still too soon.
She knew her mom wouldnt approve if she were to confess her liking for him.
While pondering how to gain her moms permission to date, Minato Naoya went downstairs.
A few days later, on the weekend.
Early in the morning, I headed to the bus stop in front of NHK Broadcasting Station to do a bit of the drama introduced by my junior at school, the famous talent Minato Naoya.
For long-distance travel to drama shoots, it was common to gather at a specific location and take a bus together.
The sky was still dusky, likely because dawn had not yet broken.
Wearing a baseball cap pulled down low, I approached the bus stop, where many people were already waiting.
Unsure of what to do on my first time, I looked around until a staff member approached and asked,
How did you get here?
Im here to play a small role today, introduced by Minato Naoya.
Ah, the high school senior Minato mentioned? Can I see your face?
The man smiled warmly and patted my shoulder, but he stepped back in surprise as soon as I lifted my cap to show my face.
Uh you dont look like a high school student, as I heard.
Thats something I often hear.
Let me know if you need anything. Since youre Minatos senior, Ill do my best to accommodate you.
Thank you.
After expressing my gratitude and bowing, the staff member laughed and quickly moved on.
Hmm, wearing the cap seemed like a good decision.
Ive seen more than one or two people react with surprise at first sight.
Extras and actors with small parts, please board this bus!
Following the staffs directive, I boarded a tour bus that appeared to be chartered by the broadcasting station.
The buss interior had a somewhat austere atmosphere.
Finding an empty seat, I quietly settled in and stared out the window.
The broadcasting staff busily loaded various equipment into the cars.
As I sat there, it all started to feel realthat I was really going to appear in a drama.
Eventually, after everyone boarded, the bus driver got in and quietly closed the door.
I looked around to see what others were doing. Most were either looking at their smartphones or napping with their eyes closed.
Not knowing how long I would be at the shooting site today, I decided to save my phone battery and sleep until we arrived.
We were told it would take about an hour to reach the movie shooting location, so that should be enough time.
I crossed my arms and leaned back in the bus seat.
Perhaps due to the dark and quiet atmosphere inside the bus, sleepiness quickly overcame me.
I didnt resist the overwhelming drowsiness and closed my heavy eyelids.
