Chapter 10: Future Crown Princess!

After the man said such words, there was a frightening silence in the room. Not only the maids and the physician who were kneeling on the ground, but Chang Ah’s complexion also turned pale in an instant.

” Cr...Crown Prince?” She mumbled in utter shock and fear. What is this bizarre situation? Did she just say to the Crown Prince if he wishes to die?

” YOUR HIGHNESS!! Pardon me for not recognizing you earlier.” Lord Yang Luoyang didn’t waste another moment staring at his heavenly looks and immediately bowed in front of him.

His doubt dissipated in the air in an instant upon hearing his icy cold words. How can he doubt his identity even after he said such words to him?

However, how could he have expected to see the Crown Prince in his daughter’s chamber at night? Yang Ning and the Crown Prince haven’t seen each other yet officially after the engagement between the two families was announced. How can he come to his house and enter his daughter’s room at night?

Who in their sane mind could imagine something so unexpected?

He then turned to his stupid wife who was on the verge of passing out and roared at her, ” YOU STUPID WOMAN! HOW DARE YOU RAISE YOUR VOICE AT THE CROWN PRINCE?”

” DO YOU WANT TO DIE?” He yelled at her in front of everyone, which caused Chang Ah’s face to become red in embarrassment and humiliation. Since the day she entered this household as his wife, he has never shouted at her once.

Being told off like this in front of everyone is not only embarrassing but also shameful as well. That too in front of Yang Ning’s lowly maid.

However, what can she say in front of the Crown Prince? She gulped the potion of humiliation and stood there silently, with her head held down in shame.

” Your Highness, Please forgive my wife for her rudeness. She does not know any better. If you want, I can punish her for being discourteous to you.” Yang Luoyang’s cold and loud voice suddenly turned into a meek and polite voice when facing the Crown Prince, Zheng Liang.

” There is no need.” Zheng Liang replied indifferently.

” Thank you for your graciousness, Your Highness. I will never-” Yang Luoynag heaved a sigh of relief and was relaxed to see Zheng He has forgiven Chang Ah for her rudeness.

That’s right. She is going to become his mother-in-law, how can he think of punishing her for a mere mistake? Also, how would Chang Ah know that he is the Crown Prince when she had never even seen his face? Even he could not recognize him for a moment.

” Minister Yang, I am not talking about your wife”

” Ah? Then....who....” Yang Luoyang asked while maintaining a polite smile on his face. However, his palms were curling into a tight fist upon seeing the way he was talking to him.

He is older than him and his elder, why does he keep talking informally to him? Shouldn’t he at least pay his respects to him since he is going to be his father-in-law soon?

” Your Daughter! She does not need to attend tomorrow’s Celebration Banquet. Things will go just fine even if she does not attend the banquet tomorrow.” He said indifferently, causing everyone in the room to become restless upon hearing his words.

Is he canceling his engagement with Yang Ning because of this?

” Ah? Your Highness....That’s....That’s not possible. How can Yang Ning not attend tomorrow’s Celebration Banquet? She has been engaged to Your Highness and as the future Crown Princess, she should host the Banquet and greet all the guests tomorrow.” Yang Luoyang reasoned with him.

How can Yang Ning not attend tomorrow’s banquet? If she doesn’t show up for tomorrow’s banquet, people in the village will start making rumors about her engagement with the Crown Prince.

They will talk about how she is not favored by the royal family anymore and many might even try to push their daughters forward to impress the Crown Prince so that they could snatch away this opportunity from him.

He doesn’t want to put this marriage alliance with the Emperor at risk at any cost. Not even at the cost of his daughter’s life.

” Your Highness, This arrangement has been made by the Great Majesty himself. There is no way we can go against his words.” Yang Luoyang said to remind him that he cannot cancel this marriage since His Majesty has given him his words.

Even the Crown Prince cannot go against his words. That’s why said those words, to remind him of his position.

Zheng Liang stood there lazily as he listened to the words of Yang Luoyang. He has heard about the deeds that Minister Yang has committed and was aware that this man is up to no good and could do anything to gain the plus points from the royal family.

However, he has never thought that this man would ignore his daughter’s health condition and will force her to attend a mere banquet to this extent. How low can this man go just to save his face at a mere banquet?

What was more shocking to him was the way he reacted to this matter so lightly. Didn’t everyone in the capital say that Minister Yang treats his eldest daughter as the apple of his eyes? How come he is being cold towards his precious daughter who is sick and was whimpering in pain?

Since the moment he entered the room, he hasn’t asked about the condition of his daughter even once. Does he even care about her at all?

The things that he had heard about the relationship of Minister Yang and his daughter, were they all rumors only?

” Minister Yang, didn’t you claim that she is your precious daughter that you have given away in marriage to the Imperial Family? How come I don’t see any concern about her health in your eyes?” Zheng Liang asked, causing everyone in the room to stiffen at his words.

The people who were kneeling on the ground couldn’t even dare to look up and see Yang Luoyang’s expressions. However, without looking at him, they could feel the coldness in the room.

” Your daughter was sick for two days and was in a critical condition. Yet no one called for the Imperial Physician. If it wasn’t for this young maid, who knows what could have happened to your daughter tonight. Even after all of this, you are more concerned about your reputation and tomorrow’s banquet.” He said while pointing at Xiaowei, who was still kneeling on the ground.

” Is that how the future Crown Princess has been treated at home? Are you trying to look down on the royal family by doing this?” Zheng Liang’s voice grew colder as he stared at Minister Yang who was standing silently in front of him.

No matter how much he dislikes this girl, she is still going to become a part of the Imperial Family. Despite knowing all this, treating her like this is like an insult to the Royal Family.

Even if she is his daughter, she is the person who is going to become part of the Royal family in the future. How can he treat the Future Crown Princess like dirt?

How can he let her be treated like a doormat in front of him? Lying on the bed and whimpering like this, she is looking like a baby fish who is on the verge of losing her breath. How can he stand still and not do anything?

Upon hearing the harsh words of Zheng Liang, Yang Luoyang scrunched up his nose and glared at Chang Ah who was hiding behind his back. Only if this woman had called for the Imperial Physician, things would have not escalated to this state.

” Your Highness, How can I dare to look down on the Royal Family? You’re mistaking this situation.”

” It was just carelessness on our part. I will definitely punish all the servants who did a poor job in serving their Masters. However, there is no way that Yang Ning was treated like this all the time. She is my eldest daughter, how can I treat her poorly?”

” Your Highness, you do not need to worry about anything. I will take care of this matter well and will not make you worried about this.”

Zheng Liang scoffed to see him changing his tone and said, “You better take care of this matter as soon as possible. The Royal Family will not bear any more mistakes like this in the future.” He said authoritatively, causing everyone to respond to his words unanimously.

” YES!!”

“Ah....My head.” Zheng Liang was observing everyone’s expressions when he heard a groaning sound.

He turned around and saw Yang Ning had woken up from her sleep and was now whimpering again in pain and discomfort. His jaw stiffened to hear the crying sound of the girl and turned to the physician who was kneeling on the ground, ” What are you kneeling on the ground for? Aren’t you going to get on with your work?”

” Are you here to look around only? Can’t you hear her cries?” He scolded him, causing the physician to jump on his legs.

” Ah? Ah! Yes. I will do it right away, Your Highness.” The physician glanced at Minister Yang cautiously but immediately stood up to follow Zheng Liang’s command and took out another bottle of medicine from his bag and made Yang Ning drink it to help her with her headache.
