28 Punished? Who? (III)

‘Woah! This place is crazy.’ Yang Ning was amazed to see the beauty of the Yang Household as she followed Xiaowei to the study room of Yang Luoyang.

While Xiaowei was walking ahead of her and was fretting in worry, Yang Ning was taking her sweet time following her and was looking around the household in leisure while admiring the beauty of the Yang Household.

The household was made up of a mixture of red-sandstones bricks and wood. While the ceilings of the chambers were made of decoratively patterned red-sandstones bricks, the pillars and outside roofs were made of wood.

” He is so wealthy yet so petty when it comes to Yang Ning.” Yang Ning shook her head in disappointment to see how beautifully Yang Household was decorated with expensive porcelain vases and other items that can be auctioned as antique pieces in her world, whereas Yang Ning’s chamber was as empty as his heart.

” My lady, you need to walk faster. Lord must be waiting for you.” Xiaowei pleaded to her to walk faster rather than looking around the palace leisurely and walking slowly as if they have so much time in their hands.

How come she is not worried about the situation at all and is so calm about everything?

” I am walking. I can’t go faster than this. Otherwise, I’ll trip and die. I don’t want to die so easily.” Yang Ning responded as she clutched on her long skirt and followed Xiaowei with her slow, turtle-like speed.

How can she expect her to walk faster in this ridiculously long and uncomfortable skirt?

” You’re finally here. I thought that you fell asleep on your way here.” Yang Luoyang commented sarcastically upon seeing Yang Ning who came to the study room late.

Yang Ning ignored his mean comments and greeted him politely before taking a seat opposite him.

” My Lord, I heard you asked for me.” Yang Ning asked politely.

Yang Luoyang pursed his lips to see Yang Ning speaking to him cheekily and was not calling him Father as she used to do so before.

” Yes. I wanted to talk to you about something. However, before that don’t you think we have another matter to resolve first?” He asked coldly as he tapped his fingers on the table in an impatient manner and looked at Yang Ning with his eagle-like eyes, observing her expressions.

” I heard that you threw a vase at the Head Maid and tried to harm her. Not only that, but you also disrespected her with the intent to disrespect your mother. Did you do that?” He asked coldly as if investigating her for her crimes.

” WHY ARE YOU NOT SPEAKING? HUH? DID YOU DO IT OR NOT?” He roared at her, causing everyone to shiver in fear to see his rage.

Xiaowei, who was standing outside, trembled upon hearing the loud voice of Yang Luoyang. She was not expecting Xing Bao to accuse Yang Ning of it.

While Xiaowei was feeling worried about her lady, Xing Bao who was standing behind Chang Ah and was in the same room was pleased to see the way Yang Luoyang was humiliating Yang Ning in front of everyone.

The girl was over the clouds since His Majesty praised her and was going out of their control. It was necessary to give her a stern lesson to make her know about her position in the Yang Household.

” Lord, please calm down. How can you ask her about something like that? She is young and immature. She must have made a mistake.” Chang Ah, who was sitting next to Yang Luoyang said in a honey-dripping sweet voice and tried to show her so-called concern towards Yang Ning.

“It’s normal for children to make mistakes. As their parents, it’s our responsibility to teach them about what is right or wrong. Rather than getting angry at her or punishing her, I thought it would be better to make her apologize to Xing Bao and let this matter go.”

Yang Ning scoffed to see the way Chang Ah was pretending to defend her from Yang Luoyang’s rage, but indirectly she was trying to humiliate her by making her apologize to her maid.

Apologizing to her maid means, indirectly lowering her head in front of her. She will never let that happen. Never. Ever.

“Hah! Children? She is going to become the Crown Princess of the Empire. Anyone can be pardoned for making a mistake but her.” Yang Luoyang said coldly while pointing at Yang Ning.

” Lord.” Chang Ah called out Yang Luoyang in a low voice as if feeling helpless and bad for Yang Ning. However, her slight smirk didn’t go unnoticed by the hawking gaze of Yang Ning.

” Don’t you know the Head Maid is the personal maid of your mother? Disrespecting her is equivalent to looking down on your mother. Despite knowing that, how can you attack her from behind? HUH?”

Yang Ning frowned upon hearing the cold and heartless words of Yang Luoyang. It doesn’t matter to her as neither she is Yang Ning nor Chang Ah is her step-mother.

However, she felt strangely disgusted when he called Chang Ah her mother when the latter never treated her as her daughter.

Forget his new wife, as Yang Ning’s father, he never treated her as his daughter. How can he expect her to treat him or his wife with respect as mother and father?

” My Lord, Pardon me for being rude. If standing against the Head Maid of Yang Household is equivalent to disrespecting the Mistress of the Household, then what does it mean when someone dares to humiliate the eldest daughter of the Yang Household and the FUTURE CROWN PRINCESS OF THE EMPIRE?” Yang Ning asked in a very calm and composed manner while emphasizing the last part of her statement.
