Yang Luoyang glanced at Chang Ah’s troubled face before turning to Yang Ning who was waiting for his order and said, ” You’re right! The official investigation should be carried out by the guards and not the maids since the person in question is the Head Maid.”

” Go to the room of the Head Maid and carry out the official investigation. Make sure to not leave any corner while searching, so that no one can raise any objections later.” Yang Luoyang summoned the guards who were standing outside and commanded them to search.

While speaking to the guards, his gaze was on Yang Ning as if telling her to be prepared for the consequences of her brazen actions.

The Head Guard glanced at Yang Luoyang and Chang Ah hesitantly but seeing the assurance in Yang Ning’s eyes, he answered, ” I did not find any jewels in the room that might belong to the Young Lady. However, we find something that does not look like it belongs to the Head Maid.”

” We were not sure about the identity of the owner of this item, so we decided to bring it here with us.”

After saying this, he pulled out a small sachet bag from his pocket. The old and rugged sachet bag looked heavy as if it had something inside it.

” What is it?” Yang Luoyang frowned to see the old sachet bag and asked in concern.

However, Chang Ah was a step ahead of him and snatched the pouch from the Head Guard to open it.

“What....is all this?” A deep frown appeared on her forehead when she opened the sachet and found some rare and precious gems that Xing Bao can never afford with her status of the Head Maid.

She pursed her lips as the gems looked strangely familiar to her. However, she could not recall where she had seen these gemstones.

Xing Bao’s eyes widened to see the sachet in Chang Ah’s hands, ” Madam, this....I do not know anything about it.”

” It’s not mine. I don’t even know what it is. Please believe me!” Xing Bao pleaded but Chang Ah could not hear her voice.

Chang Ah’s hands were trembling and her face turned crimson in outrage. How can she lose her face in front of Yang Ning?
