128 First Night (II)

*Ahem* Zheng Liang coughed and cleared his throat before walking towards their bed.

He hesitantly sat at the edge of the bed while trying to peek at Yang Ning’s face, which was completely hidden under the veil.

He looked at her sitting on the bed while waiting for him and felt a strange feeling blooming inside him.

Before he came to the chamber, everyone was teasing him and telling him what to do when he saw Yang Ning.

However, now when he is seeing her, his mind turns blank, and didn’t know how to react in front of her.

He is the Crown Prince of the Zheng Empire. How can he become a coward in front of a woman?

It’s not like he is seeing her in his chamber for the first time. Then what is this strange exciting feeling that was making him look at her in a daze, admiring her in the red wedding dress?

He took a deep breath and tried to loosen his emotions. ” Lady Yang Ning....I mean....I should address you as Princess Yang Ning from now on! I apologize for making you wait.” He apologized.

But he couldn’t help but feel embarrassed after addressing her using her new title. It felt so strange calling her by her new title.

Although she will be crowned as the Crowned Princess after the crowning ceremony, she has already attained the status of the Crown Princess by marrying him, who is the Crown Prince of the Empire.

There is no wrong in calling her the Crown Princess or the Princess for instance. That’s why rather than using her maiden title, he addressed her using the new title that she acquired after their marriage.

Seeing her not responding to his words, he cleared his throat awkwardly again and said, ” You must be feeling uncomfortable in this veil. Why don’t you remove it?”

He stretched his hand to remove the veil so that he could admire her face that he had failed to see since the morning.

However, before he could remove the veil, Yang Ning acted faster than him and pushed back the veil herself, and moaned in relief, ” Ah! Thank you. I was feeling so suffocated because of this stupid veil.”

“I thought that I would die because of suffocation. Now I can finally breathe!” She sighed.

Zheng Liang was speechless at the strange words and not-so-shy actions of Yang Ning. Wasn’t the groom supposed to remove the veil from the bride’s face? Then....what was happening here? He wondered.

He pursed his lips in embarrassment and retracted his hand that was left hanging in the air. What can he do when she already removed the veil herself?

He looked at her flushed cheeks and noticed her strange way of talking and asked in confusion, “Princess Yang Ning, what do you mean by stu...stupid veil? Is this a veil made with a new kind of material?” He asked while trying hard to enunciate the word she said in a strange language.

It sounded as if she was speaking the same language as him but not at the same time. He had never heard this word before.

“Ah! Stupid? It’s simple. It means that this veil is stupid and is at fault. Because of it, I had to suffer the whole day.” She blabbered in her drunken state and whined while tugging on the collar of her upper vest as she was feeling hot wearing it.

Zheng Liang pursed his lips as he still couldn’t grasp the meaning of the word but looks like it doesn’t mean a good thing by the way she was complaining about the veil.

Looks like the new material of the veil isn’t as comfortable as other veils. That’s why she must be feeling uncomfortable in it.

” Is that so? I am sure it must be difficult to walk around with the veil covering your face.” He sympathized with her but he couldn’t help but look at her face twice.

She was looking more beautiful than he had expected. The light makeup on her face and the pink blush on her cheeks was making her look more feminine and lady-like.

While staring at her face, he felt shy and pursed his lips and tried to conceal his smile. She is his wife now.

“Princess Yang Ning, I wanted to thank you for what you did the last time. I wasn’t expecting that you would come to the palace when I was punished for being confined inside my chamber. Thank you for coming to the palace to meet me when I was-” Zheng Liang couldn’t look into her eyes for long and was thanking her while looking down at the white satin bedsheet and playing with the rose petals.

When he looked up at her to meet her eyes, his eyes widened in shock when Yang Ning suddenly proceeded to undo the knot of her blouse, “Princess Yang Ning, what are you doing?” He acted in time and stopped her from undoing the knot of her blouse completely and letting it fall, revealing her undergarments.

He didn’t know when she removed her outer robe and was already proceeding to remove the upper blouse.

Yang Ning frowned at Zheng Liang for interrupting her actions and pouted and whined while trying to remove his hand, ” Argh! Leave me alone. I am feeling so hot. Turn on the air conditioner.”

“It’s so hot and uncomfortable here. How can you guys live without an air conditioner?” She cried out and tried to remove her blouse once again.

Zheng Liang grasped her wrist and stopped her from removing her clothes and looked at her in worry.

Why was she acting strangely?

“Air conditioner? Is it a sort of scented incense?” He asked in bewilderment while holding onto her hands tightly.

It is their wedding night and they were expected to consummate their wedding. However, he wasn’t expecting things to take this direction at all.

He frowned when he noticed her strange way of speaking and the way she was laughing and whining for no reason.

He looked around and noticed the wine pot near the bedside whose lid was removed and one of the two cups was used. He leaned closer to Yang Ning and upon sniffing her breath, he realized that she had been acting strangely because of the wine.

“How much did she drink to act like this?” He exclaimed in frustration as he tried to hold onto her unrestrained hands.

He held Yang Ning’s hands with one hand and checked the wine pot with the other. His eyes widened in shock when he realized that the pot was almost empty and only one cup of wine had been left in it.

“Did she drink all of this wine herself?” He looked in disbelief. How can she finish everything and still stay awake like this?

It wasn’t just any wine. It was a strong wine that can make anyone go tipsy after one cup only.

It is also used to increase one’s sexual appeal so that one could do well on their first night.

How can she drink all of it? No doubt she was suddenly feeling hot.

Because the nights these days have gotten cold and they need to wear a blanket before going to bed. How can she feel hot in the dress?

It was all because of the wine.

While Zheng Liang was lost in his thoughts and was wondering what to do with this drunk woman, Yang Ning swiftly freed her hands from his grip and pushed him onto the bed.

“Princess Yang Ning!” Zheng Liang’s eyes widened in shock when she suddenly pushed him onto the bed and was hovering over him.

She relaxed her body and let her body weight fall onto him. She grasped his shoulders and trapped him under her. “What Princess Yang Ning, Princess Yang Ning? Stop calling me in such an old fashioned way.” She grumbled while looking at him with her wavering eyes and was giggling for no reason.

Zheng Liang who was trapped under her swallowed his saliva nervously and asked meekly, “Then....how should I address you? If not Princess Yang Ning, what should I call you?” He asked to distract her and help her sit properly on the bed.

He tried to make her get off him, but she glared at him and slapped his hand away, and pointed at him, ” Don’t you dare! No one can touch me, other than me.” She remarked.

Zheng Liang blinked in confusion but yielded to her anyway. What would he say to a person who is too drunk to think about anything straight?

Yang Ning looked into his eyes and grinned like a fool while caressing his face with her fingers and said, ” You can call me as....Fang Fang.”

” I don’t allow anyone to call me that. Only the people who are close to me could call me Fang Fang. Since you’re handsome and have a pretty face, I will allow you to call me that. Pretty people are exceptions.” She said,

“Fang Fang?” Zheng Liang raised his brows and looked at her in confusion. Why does she want to be addressed as Fang Fang? He wondered.

He is aware that she is doing all of this in her drunken state. However, now he was looking at her from this angle, he couldn’t help but admire her for her boldness.

It was the first time that someone has ordered him, the Crown Prince of the Empire. Other than His Majesty, no one can order him around. However, this woman has been doing this since her first day at the dragon pavilion.

What a brave woman she is!
