Yang Ning’s face turned crimson in embarrassment upon hearing Zheng Liang’s shameless words. How can he play with his words like that and embarrass her? She gritted her teeth and was wondering how to teach him a lesson for teasing her when she noticed something which caused her facial expressions to relax.

From scowling at him, she started to smile at him with a meaningful smirk on her lips and said, “You’re right. As your wife, I should be aware of everything and take care of you.” She said and started walking towards him in small strides, slowly and mysteriously.

Zheng Liang raised his brows as he wasn’t sure why she was suddenly walking towards him. He looked behind him unconsciously wondering if she wanted to pick something behind him however there was nothing behind him that she might need at the moment.

“Yan…Yang Ning, do you need anything?” He asked in a surprised voice when Yang Ning suddenly stopped a few inches away from him and was looking into his eyes.

He was caught off guard by the way she was standing so close to him and it caused his cheeks to turn red in embarrassment and anticipation. What is she planning to do next? He wondered.

Yang Ning had both of her hands clasped behind her back as she stared into his dark eyes and smiled meaningfully before going on tiptoes and raising her face to his level.

Seeing her taking an initiative like that, Zheng Liang clenched his fists, which were resting to his sides, and held his breath in nervousness and anticipation. He gulped his saliva and closed his eyes before bending his legs slightly to match her level.

He puckered his lips as this situation was so much similar to the day he kissed her for the first time. Although it cannot even be called a kiss because their lips only touched with each other because he was trying to save her after she fell into the lake and almost drowned to death.

She might not remember their first kiss, but he will never be able to forget that special moment in his life.

Yang Ning’s lips curled up in a playful smirk to see him closing his eyes and puckering his lips as if he was ready for her to kiss him on the lips.

She lightly brushed her moist and rose-tinted lips against the side of his lips before blowing air to his face and the neckline area and whispered, “Why are you closing your eyes? Did something go into your eyes?” She asked.

Zheng Liang was waiting for the kiss, was surprised by Yang Ning’s bold actions, and had goosebumps when she blew her hot hair to his face and neck. He snapped open his eyes in disbelief and stared at her questioningly when he heard her words.

The kiss that he was waiting for never came and the fire that she ignited with her blowing air to his face and neck slowly disappeared when he noticed her smirking and mocking him for his vulnerable state.

“You are seriously asking me why I closed my eyes? Are you teasing me and pretending to know anything?” He frowned and asked with an upset frown when Yang Ning stepped back with no intention of kissing him and was looking at him with her arms crossed in front of her chest.

Was she playing with him by putting him in such an awkward situation?

“How can I dare to do that? You’re the Crown Prince after all. If I tease the Crown Prince of the Empire, wouldn’t I become the nation’s enemy? I cannot dare to do that.” She said and pretended to feign ignorance of Zheng Liang’s emotions.

“Then what were you doing earlier? Why did you do that?” He asked as he wasn’t satisfied with her sweet talking.

Yang Ning smiled at him with a smirk and said, “Ah! You are talking about that? I blew air on your face because I noticed a bead of sweat dripping down the side of your face. You seemed to be hot, so I blew air on your face to cool you down.”

“As your wife, I should be aware of your sincere feelings and mood all the time. Taking care of your comfort is also my priority and I was simply carrying out my responsibilities.” She said and shrugged her shoulders indifferently.

Zheng Liang frowned as her words didn’t sound genuine and sincere at all. He could see that she was teasing him by pretending to be an innocent one in this situation.

He scoffed to see the way she was teasing him and enjoying his reaction after putting him through so many sufferings.

Yang Ning smirked to see the distressed expressions on Zheng Liang’s face and smiled before turning around to go to bed and said, “We should go to bed now. Otherwise, you would not be able to wake up in the morning for your morning court sessions. Let’s go to bed now.” She said as she got on the bed and covered herself with the blanket before going to sleep.

Zheng Liang was speechless as he watched her going to sleep, leaving him alone standing like that. After waking him awake, how can she go to sleep? She is indeed a heartless woman. He cried inwardly.

How can she tease him like that? He pursed his lips and realized that it was his biggest mistake to tease her.

He took a deep breath and poured himself a glass of cold water and gulped it in one go. After cooling his internal fire with the cold water, he also got on the bed and slept next to her.

She was the one who won today. However, the next time he will not leave her a chance to win against him.
