After Yisheng finished eating with Song Anchen, she went home alone. She walked on the streets alone slowly and the cold wind blew into Yisheng’s collar, causing her to have goosebumps. It was almost winter. Yisheng raised her gaze to look at the Chinese parasol trees that were losing trees by the side of the road. Yisheng pulled up her collar and did not return home directly, instead, she went to the newly opened shopping mall nearby.
She wanted to buy a winter coat for Song Anchen.
This newly opened shopping mall was said to be an investment made by a Chinese who missed home and returned to China. This shopping mall had a total of seventeen floors, and the lower floors were for shopping while the upper floors were offices for real estate companies.
Yisheng took public transport and headed directly for ‘Rui Li Mall’. Yisheng had not taken public transport for a very long time. Standing on the crowded bus, she suddenly felt that her life had changed a lot.
After she got off the bus, she went to the mall to shop.
Because Yisheng was shopping with a goal in mind, she followed the signs and went to the fourth floor to look for shops selling male apparel. This was Yisheng’s first time buying male apparel and when she reached the fourth floor, she blushed. She looked around and saw the large variety of times, a little unused to it.
She did not know how she made her way there, she just occasionally looked around and she was attracted to a windbreaker worn by a mannequin. Yisheng could not help but walk over. After she got close, she went to it and touched the windbreaker. The material was not bad, and the pure black color suited Song Anchen’s white skin. Furthermore, this design seemed to have been made especially for Song Anchen’s body. Song Anchen’s body was a typical inverted triangle, along with his slender and tall bone structure, he would be able to wear this windbreaker perfectly, and it would be able to make him seem even taller. It would allow him to seem especially outstanding. Yisheng really liked this windbreaker. She looked at the price tag at the side and could not help but take a deep breath. Over nine thousand…
Yisheng’s monthly pay was only around four thousand. This was her pay for two months. Although she no longer wore clothes bought from roadside stores ever since she started work, she had yet to raise her standard this high. Although she knew that the clothes Song Anchen wore were usually more expensive than this, but this coat was still too extravagant for her.
She pursed her lips, hesitating. She could only stand next to the mannequin and look at the coat that she could not bear to buy. She had a bit of money in her card, but it was to be used to return the money she owed Uncle Song and to pay for the installment for the house.
If she bought this…
Yisheng could not decide.
“Eh? This is not bad,” A tall and beautiful woman that was wearing army green casual pants, a black vest over a beige shirt looked at the coat in front of Yisheng, seeming to be thinking about something.
Yisheng took a look at her and felt that this woman had an indescribable kind of aura. Although she had long curly hair that was tied behind her head, she gave people a feeling of wildness.
She saw the wild-looking girl directly pull off the coat from the mannequin before she turned to walk towards the counter in-store and get the bill. Yisheng was stunned for a moment before she hurried over to follow the girl in. She had originally been indecisive about whether she should buy that coat, but when she saw someone wanting to buy it, she felt worried and made the decision to buy that coat.
(T/N: Not sure if this is a common practice in other places as well, but instead of paying for the item, in big malls, sometimes there’s a counter in-store, they’ll write you a receipt and you take the receipt, leaving the item in the store and go to the cashier outside (usually there are one or two per level), and pay for it before returning to the store to collect the item.)
“I want to buy a coat in this style as well,” Yisheng said from behind.
The wild girl was paying and casually glanced at Yisheng. She did not comment but smiled at Yisheng before she went to the cashier outside to pay.
The staff smiled as she told Yisheng, “Our brand is an exclusive store, and we only have one of each piece of clothing. Because the mall has just opened, most of the clothes are fifty percent off. You can choose something else.”
Yisheng was stunned, so the original price of that coat was not nine thousand, it was eighteen thousand! She casually took a piece of clothing to look at the tag. Then, she looked at the price next to it. As expected, it was fifty percent off. She regretted not buying that coat, because some part of her liked this sort of sale.
She gritted her teeth, shamelessly walking over to the wild-looking girl that was queuing up to pay for the coat at the cashier.
“Um…” Yisheng’s expression was awkward as she stood in front of the girl, wanting to open her mouth to ask for the coat.
She saw that the girl was surprisingly smart and directly asked, “You want this windbreaker?”
Yisheng nodded her head.
“For your boyfriend?” The wild woman smiled as she asked.
Yisheng’s face turned red, feeling a little uncomfortable, “It’s for my husband.” She was really not used to calling Song Anchen her husband, but that was the truth, and if she did not call him that, it would be strange.
The wild woman pursed her lips, looking a little troubled. Yisheng asked, “Who are you giving it to?”
“I just bought it to keep it as part of my collection,” That wild woman smiled, “How do I say it? I feel like the requirements for a person to wear this coat properly are quite high. First, the wearer’s figure must be good. Second, the person wearing it must have good looks, otherwise, it would not look good. Thirdly, I don’t want the person wearing this coat to be a poor person spending beyond their means just to look good.”
Her words were a little mean, and they seemed to be directed at Yisheng. Yisheng understood that the clothes she was wearing were a little out of place in this high-class mall. It was like a nouveau riche wearing a gold chain, although they were rich, there was a vulgar feeling that emitted from the person itself.
Yisheng did not get angry and instead smiled, “Don’t worry, my husband fits all of your criteria.”
The wild woman looked her up and down, obviously not really believing her. However, Yisheng stood by her side. After Yisheng’s said those words, it was obvious that it would be hard for the woman to deny her.
The wild woman could only pass her the receipt and added, “I hope that you’ll be able to let me realize one day that this coat did not go to waste and managed to show its full potential.” After she said that, she had a crooked smile before she left.
Yisheng looked at her back, feeling troubled. She suddenly felt that this woman was a little too arrogant.
She squeezed on the receipt in her hand and took a deep breath. Nine thousand was worth it. The original price was eighteen thousand, it was cheaper by nine thousand! Yisheng encouraged herself to spend the money. However, when she kept convincing herself, she heard the wild woman shout, “Ruohan.”
Yisheng turned her head and looked over. She saw Lin Ruohan walk over from the escalator, holding a few bags. She smiled lightly at the woman, “Did you get any male clothing for your collection?”
“I did find something, but I let someone else have it,” The woman laughed and held Lin Ruohan’s arm, “Did you buy a lot of clothes again?”
“Mm, I just want to wear them.”
“…”
Yisheng did not continue listening to their conversation. She only knew that that wild woman had a good relationship with Lin Ruohan, they were probably best friends.
She thought that best friends would probably talk about everything. She wondered if Lin Ruohan told that woman about the matter that had happened to the three of them. Yisheng also wondered if she would meet that woman in the future.
Yisheng could not help but tightly grasp onto the little receipt, feeling a little troubled. It was truly hard to predict some matters.
