Chapter 32: Strange Object
On the slope on the west side.
Roger followed one of the smaller roads as he made his way up the mountain.
With the help of the dark sky and the chaos that was happening around, he managed to activate the Vertical Cloud Ladder.
He was already close to the top of the mountain within a few leaps.
Although the chaos that he caused previously had destroyed two of their ballistae, there were still too many gray dwarves.
They managed to transport the three other ballistae and had placed them on top of the mountain in three different directions.
Perhaps it was because of the incident before, the remaining dwarves became very cautious.
They have been divided into three groups and with the ballista in the canter, all three groups were shielding it.
This was a problem for Roger.
Although the emerald dragon on the tower had attracted most of the attention, there was still nowhere to hide in the mountains.
If he recklessly tried to attack them, he would be giving away his position, and soon, the dwarves would be attacking him. He couldn’t just fly past them with the ladder.
The human shield strategy that the gray dwarves had used was so bold that it’d make his move ridiculous.
“Unless my Vertical Cloud Ladder can be upgraded by one or two levels.”
As Roger noticed that the gray dwarves’ progress was advancing quickly, he knew that it was time for heavy-duty.
...
At the main gates of the Dragon Tooth Village.
There were deafening cries from the gray dwarves from all over the place. Ne/w novel chapters are published at novelhall.com
Wherever the billowing dragon flames went, there were ashes and burnt corpses.
There were also a few tougher dwarves who were still alive.
But those places that had been burnt by the dragon’s breath were impossible to recover. It was either they died from the pain of bone erosion or the remaining heat from the fire could continue to burn them to death.
Under the deterrence of the dragon, a huge number of dwarves started to hesitate.
This allowed the emerald dragon some time to destroy both the ballistae that were next to it.
Obviously, it already saw both the weapons that were filled with malice.
Soon after, the dragon swung its wings and with the strong breeze, the ballistae were immediately blown away towards the western mountains.
The dwarves who were on top of the mountain quickly adjusted the angle of the ballistae and tried to hit the young dragon.
But the angle was completely off.
The two enormous arrows that were shot further triggered the young dragon.
Huuuuuu!
Another dragon breath was released.
Compared to the flames before, this had a much smaller range as it was only one-fifth of the previous one.
Despite this.
The wrath of the true dragon empowered the destructive force of the dragon breath.
Within the blink of an eye, the aqua-colored flame turned the ballistae into ash; the other ballista nearby was also destroyed and lost its function.
Shoosh!
As the wind blew, a swift shadow flew across like the death god.
If it wasn’t because the young dragon had a quick reflex, the thick arrow would have pierced through its wings!
“Shhh... Owwww!!!”
The young dragon roared in anger.
It flapped its wings and directly headed to the Northern mountains where the arrow came from!
The ax that the gray dwarf held onto was sharp and vicious. If he got hit by it, he might just lose his life on the spot.
It was true that this dwarf had good martial art techniques.
After a few hits, Roger started feeling anxious.
This gray dwarf wasn’t only strong with its attacks, it was also very detail-oriented. Its attack came one after another and the cohesion between each move was layered.
His combat style was like a huge net and was slowly eating up Roger’s space for survival.
Roger also quickly realized the problem here.
If he didn’t upgrade himself, he might not be competent to this fellow! But even if he did, it still wouldn’t be enough to finish the dwarf.
It was because he didn’t have his Red Moon Saber!
“This gray dwarf who knows martial arts is definitely something.”
“Well... goodbye then.”
A thought popped into Roger’s mind.
Then, he jumped up from the ground and started running away without turning back!
‘You can’t stop me from running away, can you?’
‘That’s right, I’m doing this because you will never be able to catch me with those short legs of yours!’
Roger arrogantly thought to himself.
Out of nowhere, a sense of danger came to him as a cold breeze came from behind.
Shoosh!
In order to dodge the sudden attack, Roger rolled several times onto the ground and his clothes were torn because of that!
Roger turned around and saw that the gray dwarf’s chief was still after him and he even threw his ax at him!
It could not be denied that the chief’s accuracy was pretty high.
If it wasn’t because Roger had a good reflex...
The chilliness once again ran through him.
Shoosh!
Another ax headed in his direction.
Since he was prepared for it this time, Roger easily dodged the ax.
Following that, the chief let out a raging roar.
Roger stared at it and with an inexplicable look in his eyes. “Why are you so angry at me?”
The next second.
Roger turned around and took out his sword.
The green beetle sword shone brightly and within a blink of an eye, it already left several bloody holes on the dwarf’s chest.
“Did you really think that I’ll be afraid of you without your weapon?”
Roger sneered.
Initially he tought that this dwarf who knew martial art would be a little smarter, but it was just a dumb creature after all.
...
“How do they say it? Physical training without training the brain... what’s the next sentence?”
About two minutes after.
Roger looked at the body of the chief that was pierced through several times and shook his head.
He took out the glistening hat and analyzed it.
