Chapter 44: The Finals (Part 2) "Absol, Future Sight!"
Amidst the barrage of attacks from Cinccino, Yuga commanded.
Future Sight was an advanced move, and within that category, it was considered a special technique. Generally, Absol at level 30-something would find it difficult to learn, even most Absol wouldn't be able to learn it. However, Yuga Absol could, although using it was unfamiliar and strenuous.
Upon hearing Yuga command, Absol body momentarily paused. A flash of light appeared on its crescent-shaped horn, and it swiftly evaded the barrage of seeds shot by Cinccino.
From the repeated Seed Bomb attacks of Cinccino, Yuga deduced its characteristic was mainly continuous attacks, as it consistently launched five Seed Bombs each time.
Cinccino was remarkably fast, even though Absol had been using Quick Attack to dodge, it barely managed to evade. This situation was significantly draining Absol stamina, and although Yuga was well aware of this, he lacked a good solution.
Ultimately, after suffering several Seed Bomb hits amid significant stamina depletion, Absol lost its ability to battle.
However, just as Absol lost its battling capability, two luminous rings suddenly appeared in the sky, slashing towards Cinccino. The moment Cinccino was struck, it too lost its ability to battle.
It turned out that the earlier Future Sight from Absol had activated.
Seeing Cinccino incapacitated on the field, Yuga finally had time to examine its data.

Given this information, what more could Yuga say? He had no idea where this Robert came from, possessing Pokémon that were more outstanding than himself, even as someone with a system.
Looking at it, three Pokémon, two with cyan aptitude, one of them even being at the peak of cyan aptitude, and the weakest one being of green aptitude.
Looking at himself, though he also had three Pokémon, he only had one with cyan aptitude, one with green aptitude, and one even with yellow aptitude.
Comparison was truly a killer.
Moreover, this Cinccino had the same level as the highest level Pokémon that had appeared before, Camerumpt. Its ability was a rare hidden ability one as well.
Yuga final Pokémon was Floette. However, it was defeated by Robert Baltoy in an instant, and Yuga lost the chance to become the champion.
Robert Baltoy was incredibly strong; everyone present could witness that. Yuga Floette defeat was without suspense.
Next was Yuga match against Soku. If Yuga won, he would become the runner-up; if he lost, he would be the third place winner.
However, Yuga Pokémon were injured and needed to be healed at the Pokémon Center, so the match entered a break.
Fortunately, the Pokémon Center was right next to the battle arena, making the healing process very convenient.
At the Pokémon Center, Yuga was waiting with Rand for Nurse Joy to heal his Pokémon.
"You're impressive."
This sentence came from Rand, and upon hearing it, Yuga was momentarily surprised.
Is he saying this to me? Yuga wondered.
This unexpected compliment left Yuga feeling puzzled. He had lost the match, not won it.
Could it be that this guy is trying to comfort me because I lost the match?
With that thought, Yuga playfully ruffled Rand hair.
Perhaps embarrassed by Yuga gesture, Rand awkwardly removed Yuga hand from his head and said, with his neck held high, "I mean it! I think what you said earlier makes a lot of sense. You've only become a trainer recently, so it's normal to not be as good as others. But you still made it to the finals; that's really impressive."
Yuga hadn't really thought much about losing the match; even though he had suffered a rather crushing defeat, he hadn't expected Rand to say something like this to him.
"Alright, I got it. Thanks, Rand."
Yuga smiled and said, while Rand turned his head away, ignoring Yuga.
The break during the match lasted for half an hour, which was enough time for Nurse Joy to restore Yuga three slightly injured Pokémon back to their original states.
"Dear audience, welcome back. The upcoming match was crucial. If our contestant, Soku, could win, he would have a chance to compete against Robert for the championship. If Shimizu won, the tournament would end. Let's anticipate the match between these two players."
On the arena, the host enthusiastically addressed the audience below while commentating.
After the host emphasized the importance of the match, both Yuga and Soku stepped onto the arena.
Seeing Yuga and Soku take their positions, the host announced, "Both contestants are ready, so let the match begin."
Up until now, Soku had only used his Ghost-type Shuppet. So, Yuga first choice was Murkrow, as Dark-type Pokémon are resistant to Ghost-types.
However, perhaps due to the fact that Yuga had already used both Murkrow and Absol in his battle against Robert, Soku first Pokémon wasn't a Ghost-type Shuppet. Instead, it was an insect-type Beautifly.
This was already the second appearance of Beautifly in this tournament, and both instances were quite exceptional.
Soku Beautifly had the same aptitude as the Beautifly belonging to a girl named Chris, green aptitude.
Beautifly was one of the most populous and common species in Hoenn region. With such a large population, it often produced individuals with impressive aptitudes. Additionally, due to their appealing appearance, Beautifly was rather popular among civilian trainers.
However, Soku Beautifly was significantly higher in level compared to Chris. Furthermore, due to Bug-types countering Dark-types, Yuga was under substantial pressure.
Both Murkrow and Beautifly were Flying-type Pokémon. As soon as they entered the field, they began to flap their wings, facing off in mid-air.
However, Beautifly wasn't well-suited for high-altitude flight, so its flying height was much lower than Murkrow. Consequently, it felt a great deal of pressure from Murkrow bird-eye view.
"Beautifly, Silver Wind."
Upon hearing the trainer command, Beautifly in mid-air flapped its wings, creating a silver whirlwind that whistled towards Murkrow above.
Silver Wind was a fairly common move among Beautifly, possessing intermediate-level power and impressive additional effects.
"Murkrow, use Wing Attack along the path of Silver Wind."
Murkrow wings flashed white before it flew against the oncoming current of wind created by Silver Wind. Murkrow then directed itself towards Beautifly.
"Beautifly, use Stun Spore."
Just as Murkrow was about to approach Beautifly, a sudden burst of yellow powder erupted from Beautifly. The powder engulfed Murkrow body.
As Murkrow used its wings to disperse the yellow cloud, its body began to emit sparks, an indication that it had been paralyzed.
Normally, Stun Spore wouldn't pose much of a problem for a Flying-type like Murkrow. A simple wing flap could disperse it. That was the reason this move, despite being effective, wasn't frequently used – its effects were quite good, but the opportunity to use it was limited.
However, this time the Stun Spore appeared quite unexpectedly. Beautifly on the opposite side had timed it perfectly, only using it when Murkrow was forced into unavoidable proximity.
