Naturally Eldrian only meant he would protest if he really hit a snag, keeping him from doing anything with the spell module. He felt that he had the right to this much, at least.
In such a case he would likely try to get the missing information from the academy where he bought the spell module. He could only hope that they would be willing to hand it to him.
After listening to Dave's explanation Eldrian felt he knew what he needed. Heading back down he went through the information and tried to mentally apply it so long. It was not too difficult to understand, but it would get tricky when applying it to the spell module.
On his way down Eldrian decided to simply go to his room. Getting comfortable on his bed he took out the spell module again, getting a pen and some extra papers while he was at it.
Okay, what do we have?Eldrian mumbled as he drew the spell module onto a page. After which he added arrows according to the description given on the spell module. After sorting this he was left with a leaf with arrows pointing places at all the connection points of lines.
Now, how do I actually force the mana to flow in a certain way? Eldrian asked next. After a bit of back and forth he decided to practice with Nidia. Eldrian started by casting it a few times without trying to control the mana, other than simply willing it to change.
Afterwhich he drew the spell module of Nidia too, adding arrows at the two nodes. The spell module for Nidia was really simple, it being in the form of a drop. A node at the top and one at the bottom. Connected simply with two lines in a drop's outline.
It was the easier module Eldrian knew of, which made it the perfect one to practice on. Eldrian first decided to cast the spell by letting mana flow to both pathways. This was seemingly a bi-directional pathway, according to Dave.
After a bit of practice Eldrian managed to cast the spell while keeping the mana flow in mind. The cast Nidia was the same as before, making Eldrian believe that this was how the spell normally cast.
Next he planned to let each node only deliver mana in one direction. Finding that if he let them deliver mana into the same pathway then the spell failed to cast. Letting one node deliver to both and the other to only one added a inertia to the water ball. Making it spin slowly in Eldrian's hand.
Interesting, what if I let mana flow in a circular manner? Eldrian wondered, attempting to do this next. After a few tries he finally managed, the ball rotating quite quickly in his hand, it even moved around.
Ooo, that is cool. Wonder what happens... Eldrian continued to experiment with Nidia, soon finding that the spell was too simple to really conduct more experiments on. But he also did not really have another spell he could so easily check while keeping his room safe. Floga was a no-no since if he lost control his bedding might catch fire.
After a bit of back and forth, Eldrian decided to simply log out. He needed to go to class in an hour, thus he really not work on this much longer.
The next day Eldrian continued where he had left off, after having done his blacksmithing tasks and weapons training. The blacksmithing task having given him a level up. For vanity sake Eldrian had allowed the ranking system of the forum to take his XP data. Which had netted him a place on the top 100 of the Floria empire. Unfortunately, he did not make it into the top 1000 of the total ranking.
Having seen himself as number 94 had given him a feeling of achievement. While seeing that no one had reached Tier 2 yet had alleviated his concern of being too slow. Especially since he felt he would soon join the other players as a Tier 1 player.
While on the forum Eldrian had also seen that the army had set out again. According to the players they would reach a place on Phallos's border where they would set up a camp. According to the players this would be one of the many supply points they were setting up for the mission.
The players added that the army commanders were hoping to reach the place by Friday, allowing them the weekend to setup and fortify the camp. They would then set off again on Monday,
This both alleviated Eldrian's concern of meeting up with the army and gave him a set deadline, which was tomorrow. If he did not make it then he should be able to follow the supply points to catch up, but Eldrian still wanted to rather join the army. He did not think he would fare too well alone in a war.
While Phallos was still quite safe, more and more monsters have been crossing the border. Making Eldrian believe that it would be all the more dangerous past the border.
Getting rid of thoughts of the mission Eldrian returned to his training. Starting bycasting each input variation of Nidia which he had found to work before. He did this a couple of times to get used to how he needed to do this. Feeling ready for the challenge which was a Tier 1 spell Eldrian took out the module again.
This is not going to be fun. Eldrian thought as he looked at the interconnection which was the module.
Two hours later Eldrian managed to half-cast Anthizo. Eldrian knew it was a weakened version since it felt too weak compared to how Anthos felt. It almost did not even feel like a different spell.
Eldrian had grown very used to the feeling of Nidia and Anthos during his training. He was even able to cast them almost instantly if he wanted. Especially Nidia with its simplicity. This allowed him to clearly feel that the spell was cast weaker than it should have been.
Continuing on Eldrian spent the rest of the night at it, only managing some more half-failed casts near the end. Luckily they became more often as time passed, allowing him to feel how he was progressing.
The next day, Friday, Eldrian started with his magic training immediately. Wanting to finish it as soon as possible. He still wanted to get going today, even if it was a bit rushed.
After an hour, Eldrian finally managed to control all the nodes correctly. Feeling the rejuvenating feeling was over him Eldrian knew the cast was successful. But he also knew he had not mastered it just yet. Thus he continued to practice, managing more casts with time.
Another hour past and Eldrian cast his tenth successful cast of Anthizo. With this cast came a system notification informing him that he had managed to learn a new spell.

So I need to cast a Tier 1 spell 90 more times? Eldrian asked himself, finding it easier than everything he had needed to do so far. Knowing what was now needed he left his room and headed to Boran's.
He knew that he was not truly a Tier 1 warrior nor mage, but he should be classified as one once he finished the 90 casts. Which he will do during his travel. Luckily a few players had posted their maps on the forum, which Eldrian was going to use to find his way. Since his map was still mostly dark.
While on the way to Boran's he looked at the spell's details again. Taking his time to go through it this time. The recovery amounts were not really worth mentioning, but Eldrian really liked the regen part. It was certainly a good deal for him currently.
Sure the number did seem low, but it more than double Eldrian's regen. Currently his stamina regen was at 0.63, the spell would bring that to 1.63, Eldrian felt that it would be really useful when he learned skills. Which actually cost stamina and mana to cast.
"Are you going?" Boran asked as soon as Eldrian entered his forging room.
"Yes."
