317. Self-created Divine Ability?
Lin Fei returned to the Xiao family and approached Xiao Yuchen to return the tokens.
"Sovereign Lin, there seems to be something different about you," Xiao Yuchen remarked, her sharp senses picking up a difference in Lin Fei's aura.
Lin Fei released his Life Wheel in response, revealing three radiant layers. The third layer, signifying the completion of his Dual-World Saber Divine Ability, was almost larger than the first two combined.
Xiao Yuchen was astounded. "Completion... Lin, have you perfected the Dual-World Saber?"
Lin Fei remained silent, letting his Life Wheel's aura speak for itself. Xiao Yuchen was dumbstruck. It was inconceivable that Lin Fei had mastered such an advanced Divine Ability in less than three months. Even those with the bloodline of Martial Kings wouldn't have been able to achieve this in such a short span.
"This level of comprehension..." Xiao Yuchen trailed off, struggling to find words. Such talent was truly unparalleled, perhaps only matched by the legendary Martial Kings of ancient times.
Lin Fei's rapid progress was not something he needed to hide in the vast Ancient Continent. Some individuals here had the talent to create and perfect a Divine Ability within a day, though Lin Fei's approach was more about merging different Divine Abilities than creating from scratch.
"I want to cultivate a fourth Divine Ability," Lin Fei stated. "Do you know of any top-tier Great Divine Abilities?"
Xiao Yuchen sighed, "Top-tier Great Divine Abilities are exceedingly rare. The Gravity Domain and Dual-World Saber were unexpected acquisitions."
"What about the Xiao family?" Lin Fei probed. "Being a Martial King lineage, you must have many Divine Abilities in your possession, including top-tier ones."
Xiao Yuchen shook her head with a sense of helplessness. "Almost all Martial King families adhere to a rule: they do not share their Great Divine Abilities. Let alone the top-tier ones."
Lin Fei fell silent.
Lin Fei's eyes shimmered with intrigue. It all seemed straightforward. But would the Xiao family so readily grant access to their Divine Ability Tower? Just on the strength of a single token?
"Aurora Sovereign," Lin Fei posed, "what if someone learns the Divine Ability with the token and then divulges it?"
"The leaker will be hunted down. If the hunt fails, the token bearer will forever be imprisoned within the Xiao family's dungeon!" Xiao Yuchen replied gravely
Lin Fei fell silent. Clearly, this token was more than just a ticket—it was a bond of trust. It wasn't meant for the faint-hearted. The Xiao family's Martial Sovereign would never lend it lightly.
For if anything went awry, the responsibility would fall squarely on the token bearer's shoulders. Handing over the token to Lin Fei and granting him access to the Divine Ability Tower was a risk Xiao Yuchen was willing to bear. It showcased her almost unwavering trust in him.
It was the Xiao family's way. In part, it was a means for the younger Xiao generation to forge strong alliances with formidable Martial Sovereigns. By using such methods, their choices of allies would be made with utmost care. Such allies would undoubtedly be entrusted with their very lives.
Without another word, Lin Fei accepted the token. He was in dire need of a plethora of Lesser Divine Abilities. To craft them into a singular Great Divine Ability, or perhaps even a pinnacle Great Divine Ability.
"Rest assured, Aurora Sovereign. I vow the Divine Abilities within the tower will not be shared by me," Lin Fei promised before departing.
As she gazed upon Lin Fei's retreating form, a hint of a smile touched Xiao Yuchen's lips. She trusted him implicitly. Moreover, assisting Lin Fei was to her advantage.
At the very least, she believed that Lin Fei could conquer the challenges of the Martial King Tower's fourth, fifth, and sixth levels, and beyond. In time, she could gain countless opportunities to access the Blood Pool. The benefits of such an alliance were immeasurable.
Yet, could Lin Fei truly create a Great Divine Ability on his own?
There was a flicker of doubt in Xiao Yuchen's eyes.
