Chapter 168 And So It Began!

Good!

Miroku chose the Beast Tamer class without a second thought.

And before he knew it, his entire outfit changed as well.

Miroku looked at the gallant outfit on him, feeling that its quality was indeed better than that which he previously wore.

His entire get-up was body-fitting, with a rope at the side, a falcon arm-wear on his right arm, and a fabric tied to his head to keep his hair slicked back.

It looked like the scarf could only be lowered or transformed into a facial mask during sand storms.

He also had a water jug on his side and some rugged boots on his feet too.

Miroku read the basic information about his profession in his mind.

[Beast Tamers. Can tame and summon beasts to fight alongside them. Strong beast tamers can have hundreds and hundreds of these beasts fighting with them.

But please, note that it's near impossible for one to tame a beast stronger than themselves.

Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah~~.]

....

Miroku read the information about beast tamers and felt it should be very similar to the basic Beast tamer principles in the Lower Realm.

For one, it looked like taming beasts also got determined by how Loyal or convinced the beast

was in following its master.

Beast tamers have 12 known job levels in the lower realm, ranging from 1-Star beast tamers to Venerated Master Beast Tamer.

Of course, the Lower realm only had 1 to 3-star beast tamers.

For beast taming, it more or less boiled down to the Loyalty/Convinced Level of the beast one wanted to tame.

At the Beginner Stage, the beast's Loyalty would be from 5~20%.

Heh.

This was bad because at this level, it would be extremely difficult for one to summon their beasts. So their beasts would have to walk alongside them at all times.

And even then, since the beasts have such low loyalty levels for their master, they were most likely not to obey their master's orders.

They might still attack, retaliate and try killing their masters when possible.

At that stage, they'll still want to leave, but maybe because their master was somewhat stronger than them, they had to obey on the surface while looking for chances to get rid of their master.

Hey!

Beasts with low loyalty undoubtedly looked down on their masters, feeling that these weaklings weren't worthy of them.

In short, People who tame beasts Beginner Level Beast

.

And following this would be the Intermediate Level, with beast loyalty levels ranging from 21~45%.

At this stage, one could establish a contract with the beast and officially become a summoner!

Again, the next level would be Advanced Taming, with a loyalty range of 46~70%.

Here, the summoned could talk telepathically with the beast, depending on its Specie, strength, inner talent, and inherent bloodline.

Of course, the next phase will be Submissive Accession, with loyalty from 71~95%.

Here, the beast would be submissive, obeying all orders without second thoughts.

And finally, at Total Accession (96~100% Loyalty), the beast would be willing to die for its summoner. And at this stage, the summoner can gain some beastly bloodlines too.

From general knowledge in the Lower Realm, those were the big 5 phases involved in Beast Taming.

So to put it simply;

•Beginner Taming: 5~20% Loyalty.

•Intermediate Taming: 25~45% Loyalty.

•Advanced Taming: 46~70% Loyalty.

•Submissive Accession: 75~95% Loyalty.

• And finally, Ultimate Accession: 96~100% Loyalty.

...

Well, those were the general outlook of things.

And it went without saying that each Phase had several manuals and skills irrespective of whether one was a 1-Star beast tamer or a 3-Star beast tamer.

No matter how powerful those in the Lower Realm grew, the highest taming loyalty recorded was 42%.

And it was done by one of the ancestors in Yanging Province ages ago.

Meaning that within the Lower Realm, they could only reach the Intermediate phase of Beast taming.

This was because all their beast taming techniques were low-grade. And the limited qi there wasn't helping matters too.

Beast taming was in a way similar to Pill forming as well.

One could be a 2-star alchemist, but the pill quality they would produce would be a lower grade one filled with impurities.

Likewise, a 2-star Beast tamer would be able to tame a beast within the Lower Realm.

But in the end, the beast's loyalty might be 35%, which falls within the Intermediate level.

And at that stage, the beast will still be stubborn and secretly unwilling but has no choice but to obey until it can somehow break the contract.

Contracts could be broken once made, but the price would be drastic for the summoned and the beast involved.

There were Loyalty testing stones to accurately read one's Loyalty level with its beast.

So Beast gamers will know where they stood regarding their skills.

.

Miroku looked at his interface and found that the concept of beast taming was more or less similar to that within the Lower Realm.

Soon, he saw a strange Icon blinking on the side.

[HINT:

1) Register in a guild and take on a few tasks in exchange for battle and beast taming techniques.

2) Explore the city for weapons, and capture your first beast within the forest regions surrounding the city.]

Good hints!

Miroku felt that these hints were reasonable.

After all, he had no close or ideas about Beast Taming.

And before he took on the Main challenge, he had to be strong enough for it... at least to some extent.

Hmmm... With that, he quickly glanced at the Mission tab on the side.

[Main Level Mission: Advance in 12 days before the entire floating city gets swallowed by the ever-rising Lava below.

Bonus Task: Find any of the remaining 2 hidden Items of the fallen Gods scattered around the Level.]

Oh?

Miroku looked at the bonus mission for a bit, thinking about what these godly items could be.

No doubt about it, it would be a great plus if he could find the hidden item.

It says that there used to be 5 hidden items.

3 had been found by previous people who entered the Realm.

And now, only 2 remain hidden.

Hopefully, he found one of them before advancing to the next level.

.

Miroku glanced through everything diligently before finally hitting the Finalize button!

And instantly, his surroundings unfroze!

However, when things returned to normal, troubles seemed to be waiting for them.

Boom!

Miroku felt an invisible force drag him away and banged him to the ground like crazy.

And just when he was about to look up to see what the hell had caused the commotion, he soon heard an icy voice penetrate his ears.

"Your goods or your life... You Choose!"
