Chapter 206: Chapter 5: Evain And Sebastian's Training Camp?

Although Lancelot's pure strength was enough to dwarf the pair in combat, the two had one thing he didn't possess.

Age.

The pair had long been going to Avalon to fight and train; however, due to their duties in the empire, that time had greatly decreased, leading to devolution in their combat power, but the vitality and stamina was the only thing that hadn't decreased...

Slowly, over time, they finally managed to wear Lancelot down.

However, by that time, they were also a mess, with bruises, cuts and damage to their body that caused the fight to reach a stalemate.

"Haa...ha..."

"Good on you, my son-in-law!" Baron Lovell had changed his voice and no longer looked at Lancelot with an angry look.

Instead, he gave a beaming smile despite missing two teeth from a brutal knee to his face from Lancelot only ten minutes ago!

"Thanks for the training and lesson, Mother and Father-in-law. I should learn not to underestimate those who have been inside Avalon longer than me as things take time to increase..." S~eaʀᴄh the Novёlƒire.n(e)t website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

"I was too hasty."

Both Helena and the Baron just smiled, with two mature maids stepping forward and snapping their fingers before a blue luminescence light exploded, covering all three of the wounded fighters, a gentle warmth filling Lancelot's body as he enjoyed the sensation of his healing increased even further.

Helena stepped forward like a ghost with a low swoosh sound. Her body, with a single step, appeared behind him as she hugged his body and whispered into his ear.

"Don't be so harsh; you managed to beat me hard~ fufu, you've been working hard for the first year."

"Well... There is much more for me to learn, at least."

"Let's head back... we got a call from Maria's teacher and were asked to send you to join the academy's training camp."

'Training camp? I didn't hear anything about that.'

"When are you ever in school to know... It was announced a few days ago, and Evaine and Sebastian are the trainers for our class, so don't worry." Guinevere answered his thoughts with a gentle tone before the connection cut.

[Darling, make sure you don't keep Guinevere waiting. She misses you so much!]

He was filled in on the information by Morgana while they returned to the mansion and waited for the special carriage to be readied to take them to the northwest, away from the capital and close to the old Du Lac territory...

It seemed that Sebastian had other reasons to choose this place, and from Lancelot's deduction, it's likely that he told Evaine, and she agreed without an issue.

Once in the carriage, Maria, Sumika and Lancelot relaxed... Maria leaned into Lancelot's chest as Sumika sat beside them, holding his arm gently... Helena and Baron Lovell looked at them happily...

"You better bring happiness to my little girl... brat!" Baron Lovell grunted coldly, but Lancelot could feel the man's affection towards his daughter; flicking his hand to shoo the old man away, on both Lancelot and Maria's fingers was a special ring that was handed down through the generations of the Lovell family, with both parties being given a ring.

Helena smiled... "Remember, win the tournament and return for the official engagement party and marriage!"

Lancelot nodded... "Of course... I plan to crush Arthur and his father's pride in front of everyone!"

Helena smirked evilly... "That bald bastard and little prick... I wish I could watch them crumble!"

Baron Lovell coughed loudly, "Darling... language..."

Maria pouted unhappily... "Papa... mama... you two are terrible... I swear you will never meet your grandchildren if you don't act normal soon!"

Helena froze... Baron Lovell froze... Lancelot chuckled as Sumika seemed to think about something with a quiet look... Maria was becoming braver and more determined!

"We promise to behave... right darling?" Baron Lovell looked at Helena pleadingly...

"Fine... I will behave if I get to spar with Hotaru clan members again!" Helena smirked mischievously...

Lancelot's brows twitched... 'Will these parents cause problems? Should I just kill her now in secret?'

"Oho~ my dear son-in-law, are those eyes of lust, or do you want to marry me instead of Maria!?" Helena teased Lancelot... causing Maria to glare daggers...

"No... I am just wondering if killing you is worth it?" Lancelot didn't beat around the bush...

Sumika laughed quietly; she could always count on Lancelot to be straight to the point...

"Dear... leave the poor boy alone! Also, Lancelot... If you ever need our help, just use this ring!"

Baron Lovell explained how to use it before waving the trio goodbye tenderly; what amazing Lancelot was how much her father changed after they fought... He was still annoying, but the old man gave Lancelot over 1000 Avalon coins and resources... not for Maria. But for him!

Lancelot waved goodbye as the carriage rode through the Lovell territory... Maria and Sumika snuggled into him happily as the horses moved through the mountain roads with a relaxing but brisk canter...

'What a strange couple... but I am glad Maria has parents like them... I wonder what my parent's relationship was like?'

Lancelot often wondered... Sebastian spoke of his mother as a beautiful woman that gave her all for him...

But what of his father? Did his love for the sword come from his dad?

This divine bloodline was his mother, then the stalwart and strong human bloodline that held them together accepted them and guided the others...

'I wish I could meet you one day... Father.'

Meanwhile, in the north west, Evaine and Sebastian were standing outside a grand mansion... the old man's face filled with pride and standing outside was a beautiful mature maid with long ears, a pretty face, and a petite build.

She was the wife of Sebastian, and the one who helped repair, construct and recover the Du Lac Manor in its original beauty.

"Evaine, this is my wife and the maid managing the manor, Ruvella... She is an elf from Avalon and a distant cousin to the former Lady du Lac, so be polite." Sebastian introduced his wife proudly as the woman giggled sweetly and bowed politely...

"Welcome, young Lady Evaine... I hope you enjoy the manor!"

Evaine bowed politely... "Thank you for taking care of me..."

Ruvella smiled kindly... her appearance was gentle and motherly, reminding her of someone she once knew as Sebastian led her inside with a nostalgic expression...

"The manor looks splendid..." Evaine praised Ruvella... who nodded happily as she guided them inside the building, decorated with many pictures of the Du Lac ancestors.

"Indeed... thanks to my ability to keep memories and images perfectly stored in my mind, I could restore everything from before the fires that tore apart the family when the Lady and Lord were wronged. I believe there are some cute pictures of a very young master Lancelot."

Evaine noticed a recent picture... with two people, a beautiful woman, who could be called a goddess, holding a longsword and spear, her beauty beyond anything she had seen... and was his mother. Maribeth du Lac...

"The man?"

He wasn't as handsome as Lancelot... it seemed that the genes of Lancelot were mostly from his mother with the blood of the elves and ethereal presence, but his father's eyes... those piercing orbs and his narrow penetrating glace... were just like the man she loved.

In his hands were two swords... and the artist was so thorough, showing the mature man's rough hands covered in wounds to show his love for the sword.

"Sir Lucius du Lac... a knight that served the empire alongside his wife... He trained Lancelot from a young age... but sadly... in the fire not only did he die protecting his son from assassins sent by Lord Arthur's grandfather! But Lancelot lost all memories due to his head being hit by the enemy several times to kill him." Ruvella explained with sadness in her words...

Evaine saw how Sebastian trembled slightly as he gazed at the image.

"It seems that Sir Lancelot resembles his father strongly... In aura and feeling..."

Sebastian's eyes lit up hearing Evaine's words. "Do you think so!? I thought I was imagining it since Lancelot's mother was an elf from Avalon and thus, he looks more like her... but Lucius was a stubborn fool and a skilled warrior that taught Lancelot all he knows... His death was regretful for us all..."

Ruvella stroked Sebastian's arm... "Dear... let us guide Lady Evaine to her room and prepare dinner for when the others arrive tomorrow morning."

Evaine could see a strange side of Sebastian and realised that for Sebastian, maybe rather than the heir Maribeth... Lucius was his reason for staying so devoted...

The moment he spoke of Lancelot's father, Sebastian felt like he was only a young lad... and seeing the mature look of Lucius, it seemed that they were likely close in age...

'Were they friends?' Evaine wondered...

Soon, Evaine was shown to her room... which was similar to her bedroom at home, making her relax as Sebastian left and Ruvella prepared tea and snacks...

"Lady Evaine... do you love Lancelot?"

The sudden question caused her heart to tremble as she turned with a confused look, but she didn't lie or even take time... "Yes."

"More than anything."

Ruvella's mouth opened momentarily, then transformed into a pleasant smile... "I'm glad... You should meet him again tomorrow. Take a rest for tonight."

In the servants building that was the home of Sebastian and Ruvella, the loving pair, she sat close to each other, the elven maiden gently leaning against his stout chest. "Dear... did you notice anything different about Lancelot?"

Sebastian sipped a cup of tea... "Yes... it seems that his growth was far greater than we imagined... Ruvella's growth seems related to something dark... but I will still support him..."

Ruvella kissed Sebastian lovingly... "If it is Lancelot... I will support him too... that child is kinder than you know... I bet even if he drowned in darkness, he would still avoid the worries in your heart. If he slaughters his enemies, I will clean up; that little boy is now strong and independent...

I used to change his diapers... fufu, and soon I'll do it again for his children~ so enjoyable."

Sebastian shivered... "My dear... sometimes you scare me... Hahaha."

Their laughter filled the manor late into the night as Evaine rested peacefully... Somehow, in this mansion, she felt her entire body and mind were protected and at ease... the first night of sleep she had gotten... since she began having horrible sickness in the morning.

Of course... the spirits and enchantments of the Du Lac house could detect those with their bloodline... Especially the heirs.

Thus, the entire manor was dedicated to her protection.

But she and Lancelot had no idea.
