Chapter 75: Gathering Of The Light Nation Leaders

.....

"These people... They are all in the Nascent Soul Realm, and if they wanted to, any one of them could wipe out the Devilduke Family with a simple swipe of the palm. However, what you must understand is that these Ten Golden Cardinals are merely the protectors of the greatest man in the Nation."

Zhao Huang respectfully walked to the highest ranking members of the Light Nation. While doing so, he also decided to inform the newbie of a few more things.

"I see... So the Golden Cardinals will be the ones to figure out how everyone in Riversea City was massacred...?"

Li Gao voiced his question with a deferential tone, and Zhao Huang answered, "Yes, they will settle this matter in no time at all. So, don't worry about it and focus on how you present yourself here."

Zhao Huang was the one to recommend and hire this genius from the Earth Nation. In other words, everything Li Gao did reflected his tutorship skills.

Considering that they were about to approach the absolute top of the top, there was no longer any room for mishaps or mistakes-

"Hai, is that you, Zhao Huang? I thought you were on the Southern Border, instructing those monks in the Repository's Chapel??"

A friendly, boisterous voice reverberated throughout the hollow halls. After which, a man of great stature walked up to Li Gao and his Senior Brother. "How have you been over the last few centuries? Ever since breaking through to the Half-Step Nascent Soul Realm 400 years ago, you have been blatantly ignoring me! What's that all about!?"

This man was known as Li Chen, The Walking Giant.

His nickname was there for a good reason. After all, just his enormous 7-foot-5 height was enough to instill fear in any enemy that so much as looked at him the wrong way.

Add that to his braided red beard as well as his long Norsen-style hair, and a bona fide Giant of Myths came into being!

However, it was neither his appearance nor his intimidating disposition that led to Zhao Huang ghosting him all those years ago...

It was instead the fact that Li Chen...

Whack! Whack!

With a loud and annoying voice, he slapped Zhao Huang on the back and said, "This boy... He your son or something? Or you just babysitting?"

"Ai... He is Li Gao, and he is also the Holy Bearer I recruited to head the Holy Bearer's Third Squadron after the death of the Lightning Lunatic."

Zhao Huang tiredly explained his part of the story, eliciting a long eyebrow raise from Li Chen.

"So... This kid is in the Half-Step Nascent Soul Realm??" The giant asked.

"...Yes, now if you will excuse us, we need to go and greet the-"

"Hold your horses, my good friend!" Li Chen grabbed Zhao Huang's white collar. Then, with pure physical prowess, he dragged him back to the conversation. "You must let me fight him! Come on! I haven't fought anybody in so long—! It's been like 45 minutes!!

Just give me the okay!"

The Walking Giant rankled Zhao Huang about essentially giving Li Gao the death sentence.

Completely forgetting that they were in the presence of countless experts, the Ten Golden Cardinals, and the Great Pope, Li Chen ceaselessly chided Zhao Huang.

At least, that was the case until one of the more temperamental of the Golden Cardinals spoke up.

In a booming voice, Cardinal Ming shouted, "Stop this nonsense at once, and gather up with the rest of the high-officials!"

Li Chen froze in place upon hearing the voice of his direct superior. After which, he slowly turned his head around and obediently walked up to a chair that was located just below a wide, opulent podium. "I will control myself, Cardinal Ming... Just don't send me back home from the Main Battlefield... I can't take any more monotony..."

The towering giant seemed to lose all his spirit in front of the stone-faced Cardinal. After all, if his boss so felt like it, he could send him to his boring mansion in the Surguros Hills of his hometown.

And there was just no way in hell Li Chen could go on living if he were forced to sit at home any longer!!

He had to fight strong people! There was no other option for him!
