Chapter 20: The Beginning of the Outer Sect Competition

........

"..." "..."

A few mysterious figures came into the hall of the Yang Sect Registry building, looking for any signs of the boy they had been ordered to kill, no matter the cost.

However, when they arrived, the boy was nowhere to be found, and a dumbfounded receptionist was left in his place...

"It looks like he's already made it to the competition venue..." One of the figures spoke with a disgruntled expression.

"Should we take immediate action and ignore the rules of the Yang Sect, or should we report back to the master and wait for his decision?" The same figure inquired.

"..."

The second figure seemed to be in deep thought for an instant before he replied, "Let's just wait it out here. When the boy wins the competition, we will simply take him out and bring his head back to the Black Tiger Lord."

"Understood," the first shadowy figure responded before both of them vanished into their surroundings.

"It looks like I lost them for now..." Azmodeus murmured while looking at the two elusive men in cloaks from a few hundred meters away.

Both of them are in the peak stages of the 20% Tempering Marrow Realm, and as confident as I am in my strength, there is absolutely no way that I can take on both of them even while using my brains to fight...

He wasn't stupid, and he knew when it was time to back off from an extremely tough battle.

However, if Azmodeus's guesses were correct, then he should be able to surpass both of them by the end of the Outer Sect Admittance Competition.

Nevertheless, he got out from behind a few bleachers and headed in the direction of the area where all the contestants for the competition were gathered.

-

"So this is the competition that I'm competing against?" Azmodeus asked with a slightly disappointed look on his face.

Out of all the other contestants, there were a total of five people in the Viscera Training Large Success Stage, while the rest were in the Viscera Refining Small Success Stage.

He chuckled a little before focusing his attention back on the announcer, who was informing everyone of the rules of the competition.

It didn't take long before the announcer got to the end of his instructions and switched to a narrator's point of view, starting the countdown for the competition.

"3... 2... 1... Begin!"

After which, all of the contestants started fighting each other on the same square-blocked ring.

The ring itself was sturdy and stretched in every direction for around a thousand meters, which made it big enough to fit all these different cultivators.

However, since the Outer Sect Admittance Test was a free-for-all and strictly kept everyone in constant battle, the fighting ring quickly cracked and shattered with all the fierce attacks being thrown by the various contestants.

HOOORAAH!

The crowd erupted in uproarious cheers as they couldn't get enough of watching people fly outside of the arena by those of superior strength!

Meanwhile, in the VIP stands of the Yang Arena, a few wizened figures sat atop some rather extravagant chairs, looking down at all the fights occurring before them.

"Who do you think will end up becoming Outer Disciples, Elder Yong?" One of the Outer Deacons of the sect voiced his question with his eyes focused on a particular boy sitting back, watching everything go down.

Elder Yong stroked his long white and gray beard as his eyes honed in on the same nonchalant boy that Outer Deacon Yang Bin was staring at.

"I think that my son will win it all. After all, although that Azmodeus boy is quite mysterious and has taken the entire Outer Sect by storm with his recent 'achievements', my son is still superior."

Elder Yong's voice resounded as he turned his focus away from the black-haired boy and instead watched the ongoing fights of a relatively robust man—a man who threw out all of his opponents with just pure brute force!

"...Your son's Super Strength Trait makes the rest of us jealous, you know that?" Another Outer Deacon spoke with a wry smile, as he was truly envious of this old bastard for having such a talented son.

On the other hand, his son was already on the verge of losing to the daughter of Elder Bin...
