Chapter 311: The Enigma is the End.

.....

OOOM!

With a part of the black blot being replaced by a massive flash of purple light, a slitted sphere materialized from the void!

If one were looking from far enough, then they would notice that this oddity was not any normal sphere. But rather, it was an eyeball!

The moment this galaxy-cluster-sized eye honed in on the tiny galaxy-sized existence floating before it, an aura beyond divine erupted from a body that seemed to stretch on indefinitely!

OUNG!

With the sound of a resonant echo, the universe itself recognized the awakening of an Elden God!

"Why have you come...?" The Elden God's singular eyeball fixated on the High Galactic King, its gaze seemingly piercing into the soul of the brazen ant.

Although Minthros was greatly surprised by the grandiose majesty of the Elden God, he still managed to maintain his composure enough to say, "Oh, Great Elden God! I have come to beseech the about an Enigma!"

"...An Enigma..."

The Elden God's raspy yet crackly and static-like voice reverberated through the boundless void. Seemingly contemplating something beyond the comprehension of the Galactic King, he left the surrounding atmosphere in a state of deafening silence.

After a moment that felt like an eternity, the Elden God's singular eyeball turned into two. And then those two turned into four...

Six... twenty... eighty...

"!!!"

Minthros soon lost count of the number of enormous eyeballs appearing from every corner of space. Ultimately, it reached a point where it seemed like the Elden God was the universe!

He was anything and everything all at once!

However, after a second or two of the countless eyeballs darting in every which direction, out of nowhere, they all stopped moving. Then, with a bright flash of quintessential light, the eyes returned to one.

After a moment of silence that consumed Minthros's existence, the voice of the Elden God sparked a new level of confusion in the High Galactic King.

"...This Enigma... He is the End."

"Sir Elden God, what does that mean-!?" Before Minthros could finish his question, he was forcibly kicked out of the higher plane of existence.

Just as his soul returned back to whence it came, he could've sworn that he saw the eyeball and its infinitely large, shadowy body shiver.

It was almost as if...

If before, they took the Enigma as nothing greater than a joke produced by the heavens, then now they saw him as a serious threat!

That would especially be the case if what they heard about his power progression turned out to be true, for if it was...

"There was another incident! The 2nd Order High-Galactic Kings we sent out were just killed! Apparently, the Enigma had a breakthrough mid battle!!"

"More than 100 versions of the Enigma were sighted outside the Eastern Vortex! We have lost contact with all High-Galactic Kings in the area!"

"500 million galaxies in the Southern Astral Stream have been considered eviscerated! 10,000 of the Enigma's have been seen moving out from this location!"

"To the North, High Galactic Kings numbering in the thousands have died..."

"There was another encounter..."

Reports were being shouted out from the direct lines to multiple Information Stations, leaving the mighty Minthros in a perplexed state.

Even though he made sure not to underestimate the enemy! Even though he went all out right from the get-go! Sending out high-level experts after the next! Even his clones and main body were no exception!

However, what difference did it all make!?

From the Enigmas that they killed, ten more would sprout up!

And from those who escaped, a hundred more would power up and come back a million times stronger!!

What was even the point!?

By the 12-hour mark, Minthros started to fade into depression. Then, with the passing of another 24 hours, Azmodeus's strength progressed into the 3rd Order High-Galactic King Realm, pushing Minthros even deeper into a pit of morass.

When all forces were dried up and the entire galaxy was thrown into a shitstorm, Minthros finally realized what the Elden God meant by what he said.

"..."

With the ruins of a crumbling galaxy as the ambience, Minthros sat at the center of the galaxy.

Watching as his fellow equals were ripped apart and absorbed, a universal truth seemed to be transmitted into his mind.

"The End... Why should one fear the end? It is only natural that everything reaches its eventual destination, so why unwillingly resist what was set in stone since the very beginning...?"

Although Minthros's eyes were lifeless, they seemed to contain a clarity that hadn't been present in them for the past quadrillion years.

And when it finally came time for the scythe of the reaper to pierce his existence, he left the world knowing that his death served a greater purpose—a nobler purpose.
