Ru Ling pointed toward the number 69 on the key and a brightly lit hallway to the area behind her. "If you don't have strength nearing the Earth Immortal Realm, it is recommended that you wait and come back to take the test when you're strong enough," she said.
Even though she had this odd feeling that he would never fail to amaze her, she still doubted that his cultivation had increased so much in such a short amount of time. In fact, it wouldn't be an understatement to say that it was impossible.
Unless Azmodeus had somehow fooled the strength testing system and managed to conceal his true strength, there was just no way he already had power equivalent to that of a-
"???"
Suddenly, Ru Ling looked up from her thoughts. She realized that Azmodeus was no longer there. Rather, she could faintly hear the sound of metal clanging in the background. Before she knew it, the man in question walked through the automatic sliding doors of room #69.
While wearing an expression as emotionless as it usually was, he slowly walked up to the desk and said, "The simulation; I destroyed all the simulated monsters, and a screen said I passed. Does this mean that I am good to go?"
"..."
Completely taken aback by what she was listening to, Ru Ling looked at Azmodeus like she was looking at a freak of the highest level. Wanting to ask what his true power level was, she said, "How is-"
However, before she could finish her words, she figured that he had a reason for keeping things on the down low. Therefore, she simply inhaled a few deep breaths of air, then reached under the counter and pulled out a medallion that was more bronze than copper.
"This is your E-Rank Immortal Hunter Token," she said. Extending out the hand holding the token, she grabbed Azmodeus's hand and placed it in his palm. Flashing a dazzling pearly white smile, she said, "I don't know what it is that you need to keep hidden, but you can be assured that I will not tell a single other soul what just transpired here. That much, you have my guarantee."
"???"
Although confused over what exactly she was talking about, Azmodeus still took the token away from the two feminine hands cupping over his own. He turned around and walked away from the counter. Sticking up an arm, he said, "Thanks, I guess."
[Ding! Your Battle Power has tremendously improved!]
[Ding! Your Battle Power has achieved 'Grade 1 Earth Immortal (Middle)]
"Well, these gains were definitely quite the pleasant surprise. Yep, yep, umu."
While nodding his head in quick succession, Azmodeus walked up to the shriveled corpse of the Draconic Water Wyvern. Instantly, he plunged his sword into the chest area of the corpse. After digging around a moment or two, he ended up slicing the corpse's chest into multiple evenly diced pieces. From that bloody mess, a large, round, shiny core levitated toward Azmodeus.
"The Core of a Grade 1 Earth Immortal should fetch at least a few dozen Rank 2 Immortal Crystals, and that is what I call a profit!"
While thinking like a true profiteer, Azmodeus marked this quest off his list and moved onto the next quest he had to complete. Which, from the quest description, had to do with a giant, Grade 2 Earth Immortal Realm spider spreading terror in a small mountain village to the east side of District K-4230.
The Everveil Kingdom was an absurdly large stretch of contrasting territory and biomes, even reaching the extent of innumerable different locations.
When Azmodeus was working as the Head Manager of thousands of districts, he was only able to 'control' the operations of his company in these huge districts. This was the most he could do, as he was not even close to being strong enough to visit all these locations.
To be honest, with his measly strength, it was a divine miracle that Azmodeus could even attain a high ranking position like the one he had. But regardless of how weak he was when compared to the Heavenly Immortal Realm High Managers from other provinces, his experience and ingenuity more than made up for it.
Then again, none of that really mattered now. After all, he left and quit his job, even going so far as to do so without first putting in a two week notice...
Even so, it wasn't his previous profession that truly detailed the grandeur of the Everveil Kingdom. And from what Azmodeus could tell, there was no way to guess just how large the kingdom and its surrounding nations were.
Then there was the fact that the Everveil Kingdom was one of the lowest ranking Kingdoms in all of the Eternal Jade Heavens Realm. This in and of itself was an extremely daunting notion for the still weak crimson-eyed man.
But just like all the seemingly out-of-reach realms in the Astral Plane and Starry Expanse, Azmodeus would once again show everyone that he was the unrivaled #1 when it came to speeding through realms!
