Book 4: Chapter 6: I’ve Already Said, Don’t Come Over! Why Aren’t You Listening?!
Going by the convention of Chen Heng’s world, a vampire was a blood-sucking monster.
[TL Note: The Chinese word for Arknights’s Vampire was officially translated as “Vampire,” but its literal translation is “Blood Demon.” However, the Chinese word for vampire means “blood-sucking ghost” when translated literally. The above paragraph used “blood-sucking ghost” for the naming convention in Chen Heng’s world. However, since the two translate to the same word in English except for the capitalization, I altered it slightly to fit, describing the concept rather than a term.]
“Hehehe! You can’t escape! Let me have a bite! Just one bite! Your blood smells good, so very fragrant! I have never felt such desire for a human’s blood before.”
This Vampire, called Warfarin, had been behaving normally just a minute ago.
[TL Note: Here is Warfarin’s profile: /wiki/Warfarin/Story.]
According to her, she was one of Rhodes Island’s senior medical staff, responsible for Rhodes Island’s blood bank. She differed from her kinsmen who moved in the darkness, drank others’ blood, killed people with no regard, and committed all sorts of evil. She could differentiate between food and patients.
Chen Heng had come to deposit his blood into the blood bank.
However, Warfarin had only drawn out some—just a tiny bit—of blood when her expression changed, like a long-famished person suddenly seeing food and water.
Chen Heng could tell this person had been suppressing her instinct but lost control in the end. How could he tell? It was obvious from her vivid red face.
Warfarin felt so excited she could not hold the syringe steadily, prompting Chen Heng to pull his arm back in a panic.
“You are called He Who Knows Fate, right? Quickly, let me draw some of your blood. It is for storing in the blood bank. Every Rhodes Island operator needs to do this.”
“Like I believe you. Stop licking the needle you just pulled out of my arm if you can!” Chen Heng expressed utter disbelief.
“Come on! Come on! Let me tell you this. I’m a Rhodes Island senior staff, the person who established the blood bank and its administrator. I will not lie. Trust me.”
Warfarin’s expression looked entirely untrustworthy, with her face flushed red like an entranced woman. Her crimson eyes seemed even more bloodlike in the dark examination room. Her pale complexion had already made Chen Heng think about the vampires from his world.
“I’m warning you. Don’t come over. I’ll attack if you come over!”
“Naughty children who don’t listen to doctors have to be punished. Hehehe!”
“I’m really going to attack! Don’t come over! I’m very powerful!” Chen Heng warned Warfarin as he backed off until his back touched the examination room’s door.
Who knew which fool designed this room? To think that person used a metal door! Did an examination room need a metal door? What if there was a fire?
Not that Chen Heng could not break the door. However, doing so would cause a large commotion. Furthermore, he needed to teach this woman who lusted after his blood a lesson.
“Go on and scream. Even if you scream until your throat tears, no one will save you.
I Have a Strong Presence: Unsuitable content for children.
Iron Fist Teacher: Exactly. There are children in the group. It’s not good to talk about such mature content openly in the group, right?
Magus of Flowers: Livestream! Livestream!
Blank Never Loses: Is this an adult’s world? How dirty.
Lord of the White Night: So, He Who Knows Fate is one of us.
He Who Knows Fate: ...I did not expect you to be like this, Lord of the White Night. I misjudged you. Also, who exactly do you think I am?
Iron Fist Teacher: Alright, stop explaining. You have already started disciplining her; what good thing can it be?
He Who Knows Fate: ...
Kal’tsit: The Warfarin we discussed earlier is a Vampire, the blood-sucking monster people talk about. She might have an exceptionally strong desire for He Who Knows Fate’s blood because there are no pure humans in Terra.
Only Kal’tsit could give Chen Heng some warmth in this cold world.
Efreet: This...I see...
He Who Knows Fate: Shut up, you perverted loli.
Efreet: Per-perverted loli? Who are you calling that?
He Who Knows Fate: Don’t you know?
Efreet: How can lolis...how can lolis be considered perverted?
I Have a Strong Presence: Is the only conscience of the association—He Who Knows Fate—starting to fall too?
He Who Knows Fate: Ah...this...Don’t slander me, Sage Megumi.
I Have a Strong Presence: Sage-Sage Megumi? Where did you hear that name?
He Who Knows Fate: Huh? Don’t you think your display name is unique? One does not have to search by real names in the cultural section of the Dimension Administrators Association’s store. Nicknames or pet names work too.
I Have a Strong Presence: Pet-pet names?
Solomon: He Who Knows Fate, are you being a bully?
