Book 6: Chapter 36:2: As Long as It Is Something Alive..., Part 2
It was currently the eighth of July. Coincidentally, it was almost the summer solstice. Although it was about 7 p.m., the sky was still bright, just nearly sunset.
As Chen Heng pushed Ryougi Shiki forward in the wheelchair, the setting sun shone on the two’s faces. If an outsider saw them, they would look like a couple or close siblings.
“Oh, I see. So, that’s what happened? So, the world I was originally in got destroyed?”
Ryougi Shiki nodded. However, Chen Heng did not see any grief or sorrow on her face.
“I’m not lying to you. Your world was indeed destroyed. You have to believe me.”
“I believe you. Why wouldn’t I believe you? After all, strange things like the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception and the Dimension Administrators Association have already appeared. What is there to disbelieve?”
“Then why don’t you have any reaction at all?”
“Why do I need to react? I don’t have any memories, only common sense.”
“Erm...not a single memory?”
“Not a single one.”
“Then are you interested in seeing the anime about you? You are the main character.”
“Anime?”
“Yup.”
“Where can I see it?”
“First, open the Dimension Administrators Association’s interface, then enter the store. There is a cultural section there, right there.”
“Uh-huh.”
He Who Knows Fate: Ryougi Shiki woke up. I have helped her to get control over the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception and am currently bringing her home.
Efreet: Hasn’t Ryougi Shiki been comatose for two years? You are bringing her home just like that? She just woke up.
Herrscher of Pufferfish: Medicinal cuisine...I want some...
He Who Knows Fate: What’s good about medicinal cuisine? The so-called medicinal cuisine is made only to make medicine palatable. Did you think medicinal cuisine is some delicacy? At best, it would be pleasant. Aren’t the dishes I cook for you good enough?
He Who Knows Fate: All you know is eating, nothing else. Learn from Ryougi Shiki. I don’t ask for you to be virtuous and caring, but you should at least be more demure. Otherwise, who’s going to support you in the future?
Herrscher of Pufferfish: Elder Brother, do you dislike me now? Have you grown tired of me so quickly? Didn’t you say you would take care of me forever? (o o)
He Who Knows Fate: Hey, why would I dislike you? I just feel that I made a losing deal. Also, I did not say I would take care of you forever.
Herrscher of Pufferfish: Huh? What losing deal?
He Who Knows Fate: Nothing. Pretend I was talking to myself.
Herrscher of Pufferfish: I keep feeling something is not quite right.
He Who Knows Fate: Alright. There’s nothing not quite right. I just sent you 500 points. Use them sparingly; it is a quarter of your...nothing. Just tell me when you run out.
Herrscher of Pufferfish: ...
That was close. I nearly spoke my mind. If I really spoke my mind, who knows how long it would take to placate Sirin?
Chen Heng looked at Ryougi Shiki, who was sitting in the wheelchair, then at Sirin’s display name and sighed.
The child, Sirin, had truly caused Chen Heng a lot of work. After he finished reading the Second Eruption comics, he kept telling Sirin not to let her ego inflate, not to puff up. Even after gaining new abilities, she should not... Well, Sirin just started saying that she could solo the Holy Grail War in the chat group.
It was one thing for Sirin to puff up like that in the Holy Grail War, but Chen Heng hoped she would keep a low profile after returning to his world.
It would be best if it lasted until they reached the Jixia Academy to see how vast the world was. That way, her inflated ego could be more withdrawn. For some reason, all the fugu feasts Chen Heng prepared for Sirin had no effect; perhaps she only remembered how delicious they were?
Chen Heng pushed Ryougi Shiki for about 20 minutes before arriving at the Fantasy Sea Villas.
“I’m back!” Chen Heng pushed Ryougi Shiki in after opening the door.
“Shiki, stop watching. It’s time to eat.” Chen Heng patted Ryougi Shiki’s shoulder as he called her out from her anime binge.
“Alright. Got it.”
