Book 6: Chapter 46:1: Kazuma: Steal? You Want to Learn It? I’ll Teach You! Part 1

Satou Kazuma had mixed feelings about using a Poké Ball to capture a One-Punch Bear. He couldn’t help but lament his failure to nab an exotic beauty. However, at least he would be making the most out of what he had.

After hearing Chen Heng’s later comments, Satou Kazuma got a bit worried, though. He was broke, flat broke. What could he possibly offer in exchange for capturing the One-Punch Bear?

“Then, Big Brother, I need to be straight with you first. I’m out of points.” Although he really wanted the One-Punch Bear, Satou Kazuma had to be upfront about his situation, as he did not want to ruin his relationship with Chen Heng. If Chen Heng wasn’t willing to help, he might have to give up on this mission. Despite some losses, it wouldn’t be a total disaster at least.

“What do I need points for? I don’t need them right now. What I want is your Steal skill; also, there’s Drain Touch and some other peculiar skills.” Chen Heng had no shortage of points. Thanks to his medicinal pill trades and cultivation technique trades, he had almost 100,000 points now.

The most important thing was that Chen Heng didn’t need the 1,000,000 points for the ability fourth awakening yet. As for the ability fifth awakening, it was still far off. Chen Heng believed he could get an exchange voucher for the ability fifth awakening from his ancestor. If he asked directly, he should be able to get it, if not in points.

More crucially, Chen Heng knew Satou Kazuma was destitute, and he didn’t expect Satou Kazuma to have many points.

“But, Big Brother, those aren’t worth anything. You can simply find a random adventurer on the road and learn them by paying some eris.”

[TL Note: Eris is the name of the currency in KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! It was named after the goddess of the same name. They are minted in copper, silver, gold, or mithril. Each mithril coin is worth 1,000,000 eris, and according to Aqua, one eris is roughly equivalent to one Japanese yen. They also exist in banknote form.]

“Do I lack skills? What I lack is your skill,” Chen Heng hinted.

“But my Steal skill is just like a regular...Oh, we’re one of a kind, Big Brother!” Satou Kazuma remembered his Steal skill halfway through his sentence and realized what made it unique compared to others.

“Ahem! Ahem! I just want to learn it out of curiosity. Learning your skill would be completely different from how you use it.” Chen Heng coughed twice, dissenting to the comparison.

“Big Brother, I have to tell you, my Steal skill isn’t that different from regular ones. My high success rate and special effects are mainly due to my high luck value.” Satou Kazuma didn’t want to deceive Chen Heng. If the skill didn’t work as expected, Chen Heng might come back for a refund, and what could Satou Kazuma refund him with?

Chen Heng was currently observing the docile One-Punch Bear lying on the ground, not resisting at all.

He had to admit that this One-Punch Bear was indeed powerful. Under normal circumstances, it would be impossible for Satou Kazuma’s team to defeat it; they’d just be serving themselves up as dinner.

Roar! The One-Punch Bear glared at Chen Heng and let out a roar as it tried to lift its paw to swat the human who had sneak-attacked it. However, its paw rose only two centimeters before crashing back to the ground.

With a height of over five meters, sharp claws, high-defense fur, and thick skin, it could easily swat any novice adventurer who dared to challenge it. That was why it had been living peacefully near the newbie village until now. Even if it were elsewhere, it would still be considered a high-level monster.

As for the strength of this One-Punch Bear, Chen Heng wasn’t sure yet, but considering it could still lift its paw under a hundred times gravity, it was certainly not weak. It was simply suppressed by the gravity and didn’t suffer any major injuries.

“Kazuma, come over here and capture the One-Punch Bear. Why are you hiding so far away?” Chen Heng called out to Satou Kazuma, beckoning him to come closer. Chen Heng was quite satisfied with the bear; it was a suitable pet.

“Are-are you sure, Big Brother? Won’t the One-Punch Bear resist?” Satou Kazuma hesitated before cautiously approaching Chen Heng, but he was moving at a snail’s pace, and most of his attention was on preparing to run away.

“What are you afraid of? Look at how friendly this bear is!” To convince Satou Kazuma, Chen Heng even patted the One-Punch Bear’s head.

Grrh! The One-Punch Bear growled after Chen Heng patted it on the head twice. Its pent-up emotions instantly erupted. Anger boiled up from within, and it lunged toward Chen Heng, trying to bite his hand. However, it was a step too slow, as Chen Heng had swiftly retracted his hand.

“...” Satou Kazuma glanced at Chen Heng, then at the One-Punch Bear. After finally making some progress despite himself, he hastily retreated a few steps and ended up behind Darkness. Interestingly, Darkness didn’t mind at all but instead gasped for breath while eyeing the colossal One-Punch Bear, which resembled a small hill.

“Ah!” Unable to stand it any longer, Chen Heng used attraction to pull Satou Kazuma over, right in front of the One-Punch Bear.

Satou Kazuma examined the towering One-Punch Bear, which was even taller than himself, and couldn’t help shivering inside.
