Book 6: Chapter 66:1: Heads Delivered from Afar, Part 1

Bang! Chen Heng had just spoken when another sniper rifle shot rang out. This time, the gunshot was different from before. The shots that hit Chen Heng and Jeanne dArc earlier were from a Kar98k, but this time, it was an AWM.

[TL Note: More information on the AWM: /wiki/AWM, likely based on this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accuracy_International_AWM.]

Be careful! They have an AWM that just blew my level 3 helmet. Ryougi Shiki, resuscitate me!Updated from novelbIn.(c)om

Alright, Medusa.

Hmmto think the enemy has an AWM. This could be troublesome.

The AWM is the most powerful sniper rifle in this game, capable of a one-shot kill even through level 3 helmets. If you hit someone in the hand or foot, the damage reduction mechanism might save them, but the damage would still be extremely high.

Chen Heng felt a bit vulnerable now, fearing that the opponent might finish him off with another shot.

Once Chen Hengs health had fully recovered, he sprang out of the car and dived into a nearby building through a window. The enemy noticed this acrobatic move, as evidenced by the sound of a Kar98k shot that barely missed him.

Yes, just a close call. The bullet from the Kar98k hit the window frame, only about 30 or 40 centimeters away from Chen Heng. It didnt seem like the work of the skilled sniper who had previously shot him in the head.

After successfully vaulting into the room without any mishaps, Chen Heng immediately moved away from the window, taking cover in a spot across the room where he couldnt be shot easily.

Considering the situation just now, it seems the two players across from us swapped guns. The one with the Kar98k originally had excellent marksmanship, but that shot at me was quite off.

So, whats our plan? one of his teammates asked.

He took out a mirror shard and, after observing the distance between them for a moment, waited patiently; the other person was still 50 meters away.

During the intense firefight on the bridge earlier, he hadnt discarded the mirror shard but put it into his backpack instead, in anticipation of a situation like this.

Holding the mirror shard, Chen Heng continued to observe the approaching player. The player had a level 3 helmet, an M416 in hand, and an AWM slung on their back. This was probably the original second level 2 helmet player in the enemy team, as their teammates likely handed over all the good equipment to them.

Three, two, one. Chen Heng counted silently to himself and shifted slightly to the right before abruptly firing. The player attempting to sneak up on him was startled by Chen Hengs sudden appearance but tried to retaliate with their M416.

However, the M416 couldnt compete with the firepower of the M762, especially since Chen Heng had fired first. Before the sneaking player could get more than a couple of shots off, he was already downed.

Chen Heng continued to fire his M762 at the player even after that player fell to the ground. When his magazine was empty, the sneaking player became a crate.

After eliminating this player, Chen Heng didnt immediately go to collect the AWM. Instead, he retreated behind the slope to heal himself.

In the recent exchange, Chen Heng had lost 40 percent of his health. To ensure his safety, he decided to wait until he was fully healed before dealing with the remaining enemy.

As Chen Heng consumed energy drinks to recover health, he suddenly heard a vehicle starting up. He cautiously peeked out and saw that the last surviving member of the enemy team was attempting to flee in a car.

The location where the two players had initially hidden was a slope, making it impossible for Chen Heng to shoot them if they were crouching or prone. However, driving away would expose the upper body of the player, and Chen Heng seized this opportunity.

The enemys car had moved only a few meters from its starting point when Chen Heng squeezed the trigger of his M24. The remaining player instantly became a crate, and the elimination message appeared for Chen Hengs team.

Eliminated 11 players!

Because this was a four-player team, the first two players knocked down by Chen Heng but finished off by his teammates still counted toward Chen Hengs tally. As for the last two players, Chen Heng had killed them as well, resulting in him accumulating four kills. His teammates had likely been credited with assists.
