Tsukasa walked out to the stage while watching the opposite passage. While Ikki hadn’t arrived, somehow, he could feel his spirit from his location. It was faint like a candle flame that could die anytime, yet this flame struggled, persistently, burning as long as it could even if the malicious wind kept moving in his direction.
Still, Tsukasa looked at the audience, wondering when they were going to say something. After all, it felt awkward for him to just stand while they just stared at him feverishly. Well, he decided to ignore them and looked in the direction of Stella, Kagami, Touka, Kanata, and the members of the student council before his eyes darted into Nene, Kurono, and Nangou.
“Hohoho, scary, scary…” Nangou said, but he laughed and couldn’t help but whistle when he saw how strong Tsukasa had become. While he was in doubt when he heard from Nene that Tsukasa had become a Desperado, he didn’t have a doubt at that moment and knew Tsukasa had become a Desperado. He then looked at Nene and asked, “So between you, who has won?”
Nene was dumbfounded and quickly got angry. “Do you want to die, Geezer?!”
“…..”
However, when Nangou saw his disciple’s reaction, his reaction turned solemn, and suddenly he thought of another idea. “Say, Nene, if I get him with someone else, will you agree?”
“What?” 2x
Not only Nene but Kurono was dumbfounded at that moment.
Somehow when the three were talking some nonsense, the commentator also quickly recovered and quickly continued with her announcement. “Now, Kugayama Tsukasa has come out, so let us welcome his opponent! He might be known as the “Weakest One,” but his record won’t lose to anyone! He has never been defeated in a qualification match and maintains his winning record without any losses! There might be a lot of slander and defamation news about him…”
“It’s not a lie,” Akaza complained, but they ignored his complaint.
“Now, let us welcome him! The F-Rank Knight, Ikki Kurogane!”
Unlike the cheers to welcome Tsukasa, while there were some noises that came to cheer Ikki, it wasn’t so noticeable. It was almost quiet since everyone thought this match was like an execution instead of an honorable duel between two knights.
However, after a while, they didn’t see Ikki’s figure anywhere, which made them start to murmur, wondering where they were.
Kurono frowned and looked at Akaza. “Akaza…”
“Hehehe…” Akaza only laughed and didn’t even care about Kurono’s killing intent. “He might not be able to come since he might be too scared to come.”
They looked at Akaza and knew this guy must have done something behind them. Whether it was poisoning, just leaving Ikki in his jail, or any others, no one really knew, but they knew it was useless to argue with Akaza since it had happened. They also didn’t have evidence of what he was doing, so all they could do was wait for Ikki to show up.
“It’s a shame.” Nangou sighed, but his expression didn’t change much. “I want to see what kind of person the descendant of Kurogane is…”
“No need to worry, Geezer. You can see his expression,” Nene said while looking at Tsukasa.
“Oh-ho?”
Unlike the rest of the people that showed doubt and murmured in low voices as if Ikki had run away, Tsukasa was calm. He even transformed his cube into a chair, sitting relaxedly in the middle of the stage.
“The brat’s Device is really convenient.” Nangou sighed.
This time Kurono and Nene agreed.
Tsukasa knew Ikki was going to come, and he didn’t doubt it. Even if the announcement told everyone that Ikki might have been disqualified if Ikki was late any longer, he knew Ikki had this luck that made Ikki able to get through a problem.
Tsukasa waited for a while until a noise came from the opposite passage. It was full of noise before a figure walked onto the stage.
While this figure seemed haggard, his complexion was rosy, showing how healthy he was.
“Oh! Oh! Kurogane Ikki has come!”
While the announcer was excited, the rest of the audience also had a similar reaction since they were really surprised to see Ikki had come.
Akaza frowned, but he snorted. “Even if you come, the result won’t change.” After all, he could tell that Tsukasa was strong, so strong that he couldn’t see his limit. Even if Ikki had become better, he didn’t think Ikki would win.
However, Akaza’s reaction had nothing to do with Ikki. Instead, Ikki showed a “yasashii” smile and said, “Sorry to make you wait.”
“That’s right. You’re late. It’s quite hot, you know?” Tsukasa sighed.
Ikki could only laugh awkwardly. After all, when he was released, no one would pick him up. He could only run and used public transportation to get into the match. He was also poisoned, sick, and weakened to the point of the limit.
Fortunately, Shizuku came and gave him medicine given by Tsukasa.
“Thank you for that medicine,” Ikki said after he felt his body had returned to its optimum condition.
“You can pay one million yen. That medicine is quite expensive,” Tsukasa said with a smile.
“Haha…” Ikki could only laugh awkwardly. He didn’t have any money! How could he pay one million yen?!
“I was joking.”
“Re-Really?”
“Yes, you can pay me in installments later.”
“……..” Ikki.
“Anyway, enough about that.” Tsukasa moved his neck slightly, then said, “We’re not here for something like that, right? How about we start now?” The chair behind him scattered into black flurries before it turned into a familiar long black nodachi, the Drying Pole.
“That’s right.” Ikki also summoned his Device. “Come Forth, Intetsu!” A raven black katana that has a rectangular tsuba appeared in his hand. His face had changed, and he was like a warrior that was ready to give his life anytime, so he could win. “You know, Tsukasa. I had almost given up earlier, but someone pushed me. She believed in me.” He then met his eyes and said, “Now, I won’t lose!”
“Talking is easy, but can your performance support your big words?” Tsukasa still had this lazy aura around him.
Ikki knew that his strength couldn’t support the heavy words that came out of his mouth. However, could he just say “sorry” and then give up so easily?
If so, then what’s the point of his struggle so far?
While it was invisible, the audience could see their spirit clashing against each other.
Yet it might be their imagination that Ikki’s spirit was like being swallowed by a bottomless abyss, which made them shudder.
When Ikki and Tsukasa were on the stage, Shizuku and Arusuin also returned. They didn’t sit near Stella, Kagami, or the student council members since they supported different people now.
“Now, the stage is almost on fire! Their spirit clashes against each other! Ah, I can’t wait to see their match! Also, I am sure that you all are also thinking the same! Now, let’s start the match!”
Everyone also thought the same.
However, everything had nothing to do with Ikki.
Ikki only focussed on Tsukasa while maintaining low-level attention to the information around him.
‘It’s hot!’
Ikki could feel his body burning from the intensity of his spirit, yet he kept all of them bottled up inside his body. He took a deep breath to calm it down, but it was even more intense.
Then…
“Let’s go ahead!”
With the announcement of the match starting, their spirits exploded, and they unleashed their emotions!
Their match was unstoppable!
