[Eon's POV: ]
It had already been three days since the conference started... and we still did not have our turn.
"What the hell..."
For the last three days, the two of us had been sitting in the same place, looking at the people, the presentations, and the things that were happening all around the place.
They were just sitting there and since there was no question for us to ask either, we were not even using the special switch that was given to all the backstage people.
'A lot of presentations had happened in the last few days already, but things were getting complicated now.'
After the presentation of the eastern empress and Nova's mom, the presentations that followed actually meant something to the conference and they had to at least let them finish the presentation.
They were not as important as the things related to our presentation, but things were still important and since the headmaster himself said that the presentators will get the chance to stop any one person from asking them questions, with the experience many of them chose to silence the headmaster.
'The irony...'
The presentations then followed a moderate pace and things were still fine on the first day, but on the second day, the presentations became longer and more meaningful where they had to listen to everything and ask questions and discuss it.
The headmaster was still silenced a lot but that did not stop the rest of the conference from stopping many of the presentations that took place.
The two of us were just watching all this time so we had understood a lot about how things work here.
This was a learning experience for us. And it was alright till then...
But, then some presentations just... went on and on and on, and we were just watching them, waiting for our turn, for the last three days.
"Now what? We don't get the chance at all? Shouldn't this technically be the last presentation?"
There were a limited number of presentations each time and we knew roughly that the presentations that had happened until now should be it.
The number had almost been reached, and there was not much time left for the official end of the conference.
The three day initial period was all that they had gone with most of the time and whenever the spectators were as active as they are right now, things always ended before the end of the 'conference bordertime'.
'We have time limitations, and that is unavoidable in the unique environment of the conference.'
Using time manipulation magic was out of the question here. The safety and security of the participants was the top priority of the organisers.
There hasn't been many times that they got to extend the conference time but this time, things were different.
'This time, they had gone on with the perfectly fast kind of pace and then they were able to finish many of the things with simple debates.'
Some debated like things about the future of Lakmer and what the northern continent was going to do about the grand festival that they will soon celebrate, how the future markets would look like and what they should vote as something important or something that was practically just not needed, they... talked about a lot of things.
There were pretty much tens of sub topics in each of the important things that were addressed in this conference and since many times the headmaster was muted, he did not get many chances to stop the unnecessary presentations.
Logically, we were the last presenters now, and things were going to remain like that.
"Hmm? Hey... headmaster's walking up to the stage again."
It was not supposed to be like that, the next presenter would come and then there would be an announcement in general.
They had to finish the conference after a review of what they had seen and heard and understood and when no one had any more problems with anything, only then the conference would conclude.
'There will be more complaints and commotion during our presentation than the actual talk, we had predicted that much.'
And it was needed as well, so we were looking forward to it. We had been looking forward to it for the last three days!
The things we had prepared, the reviewed things, and all the materials... We had revised things twice in these three days since we did not get a chance and even practised the kind of questions that we might get from the elders there.
In the last three days, we were able to learn a lot of things from both the people present and from the presentators.
There were some who did not say anything while many said a lot of things with a lot of questions.
"What is he up to now..."
Neither of us knew what he was going to talk about but if it was not about our presentation, I might even lose my calm now.
This was not a small matter for us and he knew it very well.
He knew just how difficult this was for us and he knew just how much pressure we were facing as well.
It was right to just leave the two of us to our own accord when there was so much more that we could have done out there.
We also wanted to get done with the presentation. We also wanted to go there and present the things that we had prepared with so much time and effort.
He knew what we went through to get this far... but, he did us dirty by prolonging our presentation by so many days!
{ "And now, we will be moving on to the most important and perhaps the most serious issue that the humanity, this world would face in the following few years." }
He was talking about our presentation, finally!
"Let's get ready."
We did not know what he was up to right now but we can tell if he was like this, if he was taking his moment to announce our presentation, then there must be something more to this.
{ "I know no one will understand the severity of the situation that we all are facing right now, but I know after this, everyone will understand what is happening in this world." }
We were given the signal through the screen so we started walking out of the room, but we thankfully still heard the last bit of things that he said.
{ "I hope you shut your traps when they are speaking about something important as much as possible and behave as you are supposed to." }
He was one crazy person to use that kind of language before those kind of people, but, if he- the most neutral representative of this world and the divine beasts- was using that kind of foul language, the people present instinctively knew the last presentation was not going to be the same as the rest of the things that they had seen in the last three days...
