The street business was to come to an end at a moment and a half. The dish was supposed to sell out half an hour earlier than usual.
Moreover, it was the Levites' stalls, as expected, that ran out of food at the earliest stage. They sold out 100 servings of ramen in less than two minutes, not even the length of the cooking time. The people who came to hear the rumors but were told to sell out, etc. were supposed to keep their mouths shut and utter dissatisfaction and grief.
"I didn't expect you to complain in this way. Starting tomorrow, I wonder how many meals you've prepared."
"But I don't know how long this buzz will last either. I can't even open my eyes if I prepare more and sell more..."
"At least you won't be without people all of a sudden unless the story is brought in that bandits like Hurricane Party have been exorcised. I'll talk to your husband."
Lars and Levi were talking to each other that way, with a look of joy and perplexity.
In the meantime, the implicit understanding had been raised that when the food was sold out at every stall, we would help the Blue Sky Dining Room, so they were both joining us there. Yumi and Ben, who visited as customers, also seemed heartily relieved by this backdrop.
And if he had sold out all the dishes, and had finished cleaning them up, he would depart for the Great Tree Pavilion of the South.
The man named Delus of Cornelia left behind saying he was going to wait for the end of our work there.
"I never thought Balan's family would come to sell ingredients, etc. It's a strange trick."
As I pushed the stall and went down the street, Rayna-Lew said so, so I also said "yeah" and I agreed.
"I haven't heard any exciting stories yet, but I wonder what ingredients you've brought in. I'm looking forward to seeing how confident it was."
I was just slightly uncomfortable.
Because the person named Delus had an atmosphere that I didn't really think he was related to. Besides, if your brother was a pedestrian dealing in rare ingredients, a word or so from the old man seemed to be on the subject.
(Besides, why did you want to take business with me instead of the Earl of Saturas or Tapas, the partitioner of Inn Town? No way, you're not going to fool your old man's name and take on some crazy business)
In the meantime, I was set to head to the Grand Tree Pavilion in the South with the appropriate vigilance in mind.
In a very large number of people, the inn will also be bothered, so I decide to head for the number of people for one luggage car. The facial rash is that of me, Raina-Lou, Zwei-Rutim, Tour-din, Yun-Sudra, Malfira-Naham. Today was originally a day off for a study group at the Lou's, so we decided to meet up later.
First Mim had to return the stall, so at the same time he had Gill and his luggage taken care of. The conversation seemed to have gone through well in advance, and Naudis' companion leads us to the warehouse with pleasure. That's how we said goodbye to Mim and the other members, and then we had to head to the dining room.
"Oh, Asta, I've been waiting for you. Sounds like a delightful story."
In the dining room, Naudis was waiting.
Delus and his partner are hanging around the table. It looks like there are no other customers.
"Hey, that was a lot faster. Wasn't business until two moments ago?
"Yep. Accommodation town was busy today, so we got to close the store a lot earlier"
"Is it because of the bandits of the eastern people? I knew the people of the east weren't even Locke."
Dels grinned and stroked his big nose.
"If I hadn't done well with you, I'd have gone for the King's Capital in the west like this. Apparently, that's not how it works. Once you get back to Cornelia and go for Algrad from another street, it's gonna be a lot of trouble."
"Really? From here to Algrad, it'll take a month in Totos."
"Oh. It's about a month from Cornelia, but the whole time I've been to and from Genos is going to be wasted. If I may, I'd like to make a deal with you."
While stating so, Dells' expression felt something of an unacceptable determination, such as compromise. It's not that I'm unfamiliar with it either, it's temper as a merchant. Though I don't look like Balan's old man, I didn't have that bad impression of this person named Delus.
"Once again, I'm Cornelia's Dells. This guy next door is my partner Wads, but he's not in a position to talk business, so you don't have to worry about it."
"Yes. I'm Asta from Fa's house, a forest folk. And let me introduce you to this woman."
Depending on my gaze, Rayna-Lew advanced.
"My name is Raina-Lou, my next sister in the main house of Lou. He's the one in charge of the stall divider at the Lew house."
"Well, are you the chief-muscle person? This guy's quick to talk to, don't help."
Rayna-Lew behaved well before looking back at Dels with his bright, shining blue eyes.
"Did you still hear from Balan that the Lew family is the chieftaincy muscle?
"Oh. My brother told me all sorts of stories before I left for Genos. Looks like your brothers have a long way to go with you guys."
While stating so, Dells has pointed to the front seat.
It was a seat for six people, so me and Raina-Lou and Zwei-Rutim will be seated. The other three decided to have the conversation heard from the table right next door.
"Do people by the woods make honesty a virtue? That's a lie for us southerners too. So let me start by saying... I was kicked out of the house a long time ago. It's been fifteen years since I've seen him face to face. So stick around, you don't have to think that I'm Balan's brother. I didn't follow my brother's edge to the woodland people."
"Being kicked out of the house... from what circumstance?
"My dad and I don't fit the sleigh. They cut me off because I was wasting my house copper coins without even working. So, it's a good idea to name Balan's brother."
Dels laughed, not looking bad.
"But right now, I'm going to be a merchant no one can beat. Let's talk business."
"Yes. You were talking about wanting to sell some ingredients. But why did you choose us for business?
To my words, Dels snorted, "Humph."
"I was looking for a business partner who wouldn't give in to noble cross spears. Noblemen don't have any credibility.... but you guys are doing a lot better with the nobility of Genos, right?
"Right. The people by the woods were in a bit of a special position, so we had more opportunities to interact with the nobility"
"My brother told me about the situation around here. But first, all I want to know is you. I want you to make sure that the people at the woods are people who can use my ingredients exactly."
Dells began to rub his big nose again as he embarked slightly on it.
"My prepared ingredients are ingredients no one has ever dealt with before. You can't leave him with a half-breed human being."
"Ingredients no one has ever dealt with before? It's kind of... I can't imagine what kind of ingredient it is."
"Well, I guess so. This is the ingredient I made with Cornelia's people."
Rubbing his nose without hesitation, Dels looked sideways at his partner.
The big man, introduced to Wads, pushed the crate he had on hand toward Dells. It is a wooden box with a size of 20 cm square and a height of about 10 cm, without any change of philosophy. Dels took his hand off his nose and stroked the crate to mercy.
"The ingredients are tau beans that are not uncommon in Jagal. We messed with him and made this ingredient. If this guy gets revealed, there's gonna be a hell of a lot of noise."
"That's more and more interesting. What kind of ingredient is it?
Dels stared at my face and then put his hand on the lid of the crate.
Under the lid is laid further down to the oil paper, which is tightly sealed. When Dels also removed the oil paper - once, the sweet, fragrant aroma spread.
"Is this... maybe miso?
When I raised my voice of surprise, Dells narrowed her eyes wide open.
"You're a migrant, and you said that you would use any ingredients immediately. Are you telling me that even ingredients similar to this existed in your hometown?
"The scent and appearance are very similar. And the ingredient I know called miso was also based on something similar to tau beans."
Dells' tiny eyes were finally to be narrowed to the extreme.
"So... are you even trying to figure out how to make it?
"Huh? No, I only know about using something called salt or koji, and I don't know if anything resembles koji exists in this land. You won't be able to make it yourself first."
Dels kept staring at me like he was exploring.
To reassure you of that, I make you laugh.
"It's true. Of course I don't know how to make miso or tau oil. That must have been made using fermentation too, but that's all we can predict."
"Hmm. Well, for now, believe me"
Dels finally raised his eyelids and looked back at Naudis, who was staring intriguingly at the crate.
"Master, could you lend me a spoon or a plate?
"Yes, sir. I'll give you a taste, too, won't I?
"Oh, you're gonna take care of everything."
Naudis actually came back with a bunch of dishes as he headed to the cook with his bounced footsteps. Dels looks at it and whispers a shabby frown.
"What is it? This guy has a strong flavor, so it's good enough for one, right? A pair of spoons or plates is enough."
"No. People by the woods are forbidden from eating from the same plate when they're not family members."
In other words, Naudis prepared the dishes for me so that I could go to everyone on Kamadoku's desk. Dells breathes carelessly, grabbing the wooden spoon.
"So you don't have to make a big deal out of this. Think of this as an ingredient that tastes as good as tau oil."
That's how Dels decided to split as much of his pinky nail into a wooden dish with a wooden spoon. Sure, if this were the case, I might have had enough errands just to prepare seven wooden spoons.
Whatever it is, it is a taste.
I checked to make sure all the wood dishes went over, and then I tried to include that nostalgic fragrant ingredient in my mouth.
Occasionally, the taste spreads in my mouth as it is associated with the fragrance.
Sweet, moist and fragrant, it tastes like miso.
It also contains flavors that remind me of alcohol with wasabi and strength, and I can feel even more trace acidity. However, it was not enough to inhibit the sweetness and flavor of this ingredient.
"Oh... this, after all, seems very similar to the ingredients I know"
There is tau oil that resembles soy sauce, so there are ingredients somewhere in the world that resemble miso - that was the thought I had for a long time. At last, it appeared in front of me. I somehow felt like I was reunited with an old friend who was driving me to the corner of my memory.
After all, other people react differently.
Raina-Lou and Tour-Din are inquisitive with an extremely serious face, and Zwei-Rutim plays the wooden spoon on the usual Buddha top. Yun-Sudra had a face like she was having trouble judging, and Malfira-Naham - surprisingly - was letting her gaze wander.
"I see. It does seem to have a strong flavour, as much as tau oil. I don't think it looks so much like tau oil... but it also feels like it has a similar flavor somewhere"
Eventually Raina-Lou spoke that way in a way that represented the same.
"It's very distracting to see what it would taste like if I used this in a dish. Can you sell this to us?
"I hope your terms fold. And before I do, I want you to show me your arms. If this guy cooks crude food, no one will recognize its value as an ingredient."
If there has never been such a thing as miso before, then it would be better for Delus to say so. But as far as I'm concerned, I never got anxious at all.
"But isn't this so delicious that you can't beat tau oil just by putting it in juice or something? Also, if it's an ingredient that is difficult to cook, I think it will drop in value as a product at that point."
"That's true, too, that makes sense. But, well, I don't feel comfortable doing business with people who can only cook crude dishes with such fine ingredients."
Dels laughed invincibly and offered me a crate with the lid back closed.
"I've already talked to my husband. Can you use this guy to cook something for me? If it's a satisfactory flavor, I'd like you to move on with the business story once again."
"If Naudis will accept, I have no objection either. Even I can't miss this ingredient."
However, it is a big deal that six people or so turn to the cook. We had a discussion and two people, Zwei-Rutim and Yun-Sudra, were to remain on the spot.
"Because Atashi doesn't have to stand on his knees, sir. I'm going to ask Soutz exactly what kind of conditions he's trying to sell this ingredient under."
"I want to learn what Zwei-Rutim tells me. When it comes to the handling of that ingredient, come on, you'll have the opportunity to learn it in a study group."
So four of us, me, Raina-Lou, Tour-Din and Malfira-Naham, were to head to the cook with guidance from Naudis.
"No, what an odd customer you are. But I think this is quite an interesting ingredient."
"Yeah. I guess it just uses tau beans as a raw material to suit the mouths of the people in the south"
While we exchanged those words, I was supposed to work on cooking.
The price of the ingredients used is supposed to be paid by Dells, and Giva meat can be used as much as you like. As far as Naudis could tell, there seemed to be no sign of stinginess on Dells.
Nevertheless, it's a tasting, so you won't need that much. I decided to serve three kinds of dishes in small amounts.
I will go ahead with the work myself, skipping instructions to the Raina-Loux and the others. When the heat was applied to the miso of tau beans, the fragrance became more seductive.
"Oh, that's a wonderful scent. Even though it's completely different from tau oil, it feels just as fragrant as it does"
Naudis, the watchman role, spoke that way, inadvertently narrowing his eyes. While stirring the contents of the iron pan, Raina-Lou also has a magical face.
"I do find this very preferable, even though it is an unscented smell. Were ingredients similar to this treasured even in Asta's hometown?
"Yeah. I think it was used as often as the ingredients resembling tau oil. I guess it's not weird to have a house to talk about almost every day."
As I proceeded to cook, the sense of homelessness that was born in me grew.
When I first toured with Tau Oil and Chaska - and when I finished the curry prototype, it's as strong a thought as it was. For me, it was the first smell of miso in a year and months.
Still, it's not the miso itself that I know, and even the real miso has different flavors. I decided to carefully adjust the portions as I repeatedly tasted them and aim for as much completeness as possible in the bump production.
"... asta. Can this ingredient also be used for confectionery?
and has been asked that way by Tour-Din during the completion.
Think about it for a second, and then I'll give it a nod.
"If you're careful not to get too warm, I think you can apply a lot of things. This would be a good ingredient for sugar, just like tau oil."
"Really? I was wondering, somehow, if this would fit the confectionery."
Tour-Din smiled at Hikame, still unable to hide his joy.
The cooking is complete while the heart is healed by its soft smile.
"Thank you for waiting. In the meantime, I've prepared about three species."
"Oh, suddenly it's three species. That's what I thought."
Zwei-Rutim and Yun-Sudra return to their original seats and we line up the plates. Naudis had been twitching for a long time before he ate.
"Um, we'll give you a taste too, so I'll pay you half the price for the ingredients."
"I don't need that kind of care. This is what I brought in. See if this ingredient is worth buying with your tongues."
As a token of my gratitude, I served the dishes to myself. Naudis formed next to Dells, so he spins the plate over there as well.
"As you can see, it's juice, stir-fry and simmer. It's not such an elaborate dish, but I think it makes use of the goodness of the ingredients"
"Hmm. You look and smell impeccable."
Dels looks around at the dishes handed out with a slight eye.
The juice is, naturally, a dish that mimics pork juice. Giva rose meat, diced shima, carroted nenon, and potato chatch are used, and chit fruit is also scattered over the calf.
The stir-fry is a simple miso stir-fry. Giva momomo meat, cabbage tino, onion aria, moyashi onda, and then mushrooms similar to bunashimeji, miso dale is made from sugar, kelp roots and mime, and is finished sweet and spicy.
And the stew was adding milk fat to the miso. As far as I'm concerned, it's a dish made with the image of stewed miso butter.
This one is made in advance with tau oil, sugar and smoked fish stock separately sweet and spicy sauce, which is combined with miso and milk fat and carefully simmered. The ingredients were delicious, and the ground beef was only slightly scattered in Ma Guigo when it was satoimo.
"Meat, they're all giva meat. Personally, I think this ingredient goes well with Giva meat."
"Oh. Gibba meat was a pretty powerful flesh. If you do, you won't lose the ingredients I brought in."
While stating so, Dells rinsed in the juice dish.
One of those big eyes emits a raging, strong light.
Instead of such a delth, Naudis, who mouthed the stew, had a tranced grin of "oh".
"This is delicious even though it's mostly just Ma Guigo dishes. I'd like to sell it in my inn right away."
"Haha. Naudis seems to prefer stewed dishes."
"Yes, sir. I thought the tau oil would suit the milk fat, but the same seems to apply to this ingredient called miso."
"... that's Asta's hometown ingredient name, separate from the one I brought in."
While stating so, Dels gave his silent partner a gaze.
"Wads, what do you think?
The wazzing big man had just stirred the stir-fry in his mouth, a very small amount for one serving, so it is a mouthful for him.
After chewing it with that in mind, Wads recounted what Dells looked like.
"... you don't even have to ask me that. Are you complaining about something?
It was a bit hard to hear, a mix of gobbly and cloudy sounds.
Plus, the intonation feels slightly different. Is it the origin of an area of connivance, even in Jagal?
Either way, Dels was sniffing "Hmm" at his partner's unsolicited response.
"You're so loud about what you eat by accident. For your information, I wanted to know what you think."
"Ugh. Hey. As good as the Giva dish I just ate. These guys, it's big time."
The expression is unfathomable, but the content of the words is a lot more friendly. Besides, the slightly blurred rhetoric felt quite adorable.
The Kamadoku people around the woods were silent at last, but this is a place for the Dells to give credit, so I suppose they are solemnly speaking. However, Raina-Lou and Tour-Din are breathing as they felt, and Yun-Sudra and others are full of laughter. And Zwei-Rutim, who was exposed to the top of one Buddha, was twisting Malfira-Naham with a tiny eye that Delus couldn't even beat.
"Gushi, shut up, sir. What the hell are you crying about, Sa?
"And, also, I'm sorry... oh, it was so delicious..."
Malfira-Naham was once again in tears.
Dells tears up all the food he had left before arming up with "I see".
"Cooking arm, impeccable. To be honest, I never thought I'd make this much out of the beginning. You're a big cook, Asta."
"No, it's because ingredients similar to those found in my hometown."
"I guess that's the irreplaceable power you have.... Now you're finally going to be able to start talking business in earnest"
Dells' eyes were turned toward Zwei-Rutim.
"I just don't suppose you guys can even relax much, can you? The story of one street is for your daughter, so you should bring it back and consider it carefully. Let me hear your answer tomorrow."
"You're gonna settle that story in just one night? I'm gonna talk to the Three Chiefs, 'cause this one's gonna take a day, sir."
Really, Zwei-Rutim gives a sinister voice.
Is that so much talk that the Three Chiefs' deliberations are necessary? Dells is laughing at him without looking like he was willing to.
"Of course, you don't expect to settle overnight. But this one, every day I relax, costs a fortune. I want you to check with the chiefs to see if you can accept my offer."
