Let"s Get Involved

Satisfied with collecting enough Ant Honey, we quickly conquered the eleventh floor and decided to exit the dungeon as promised. And then, as we returned to the city, we headed straight for the Dungeon Management Headquarters.

"We safely made it back to the city~"

Since Dill-san had already returned to the city alone, Kaiser transformed into a snake in a secluded spot and wrapped around my neck as we entered the city.

"If Dill-san was here, we could have remembered some sudden errands for Kaiser and meet up later... That was my plan~"

I guess getting Kaiser an identification is still a necessity.

"I don't mind at all... By the way, why was Dill in such a hurry?"

"He went ahead to gather the relevant people."

For some reason, Dill-san made a precursor move, stopping by the Adventurers’ Guild before heading to the Dungeon Management Headquarters.

Surely, by the time we arrive, Guild Master Chris-san and Headquarters’ director Ethan-san will be waiting together.

"Oh, speaking of which, I remember someone wanting the branches from the first floor. Are we selling them this time?"

"I think both the Headquarters and the Guild would want them~ But since I haven't collected that many, it'll be up to you whether to sell them or not. About three each, like last time."

"Well, that should be fine. With that, you can buy plenty of ingredients again~"

"......"

Even with the money from last time's branches, we could buy a lot of ingredients... I wonder how much Kaiser needs to be satisfied?

"We were waiting for you!"

As we were talking, we arrived at the Headquarters.

Upon entering the building, a guide was waiting for us, and we were promptly escorted to the office of the Headquarters’ director.

And as soon as we entered the room, Chris-san’s voice echoed.

Today, he was in his female form.

"Hahaha~ thank you for the warm welcome?"

In the Headquarters office were Chris-san, Ethan-dono, the vice-director, and Dill-san.

Come to think of it, what was the name of the vice-director... Did I hear it before? It might be awkward to ask now... Well, I guess it's fine to call him "Vice-director" when addressing him?

“”Chris-chan, we have returned~"”

"Oh, that's right. That comes first. Welcome back. No injuries, right?"

“”All good~””

"That's good to hear."

"... Seems like the real thing. How did you get it?"

After observing the fragment Dill-san had taken out and confirming it was genuine, Chris-san asked about the method he used to obtain it.

"I aimed for the thin tips of branches and hammered them vigorously until they flew off."

"Pooon~, they flew off~"

"The kids found them flying off and brought them to me."

"Found them~"

As Dill-san answered Chris-san's question, the kids interjected with their comments.

"If I ask you to get more, can you?"

"That's impossible."

“”Ehh~ you can do it~"”

"No, it's impossible. Kaiser chose the branches to hit with the hammer, and I didn't know where the broken pieces flew off to."

“”Will be fine as long as you practice!””

When it was about Dill-san, for some reason, Allen and Elena seemed confident.

"Anyway, why don't we take someone along, have them observe the direction and approximate distance the pieces fly off, and then search for them?"

"That sounds like a good idea. Let's try that method once. Dill, I'll ask you for a request soon, so please be prepared."

"... Am I really the one who has to do it?"

"Of course."

When Ethan-dono proposed a solution, Chris-san agreed, and then he smiled and turned to Dill-san to continue the conversation.

It seems like Dill-san’s schedule will be packed in the near future. Hang in there, Dill-san!

"... Hey, what's with that smirk, Takumi?"

While silently cheering for Dill-san, my face must have relaxed a bit. He noticed it and gave me a light glare.

"Hahaha~ Dill-san, it's a chance to earn money! Make sure to earn plenty."

"I'm not good with all the fuss."

"Oh, I am the same.”

"Yet your actions are quite flashy!"

"... I'd like to insist that it's not me."

Even though I try to be modest myself, if I don't restrain the kids' actions, it's meaningless. I want to let the kids be free... It's a tough issue.
